LYFF 2023 is where you can explore a world of cinema and movie related activities for the whole family. The films selected as part of the programme are often award winners in their own countries, and the organisers want to share these at LYFF because they’re really passionate about giving you the chance to see children’s lives from new places and in other cultures. Here are three stand out dates from the festival:
HARRY POTTER DAY
1 April
The first three Harry Potter movies will be screened at LYFF 2023 during this special day. To celebrate Harry Potter day, you are encouraged to head to Carriageworks in your best wizarding outfit, homemade ones included. There will also be other mini activities on the day to make sure you have a magical time.
THE RAILWAY CHILDREN
2 April
After the enforced absence of their father, three children move with their mother to Yorkshire, where during their adventures they attempt to discover the reason for his disappearance. Part of The Railway Children double bill including a special guest Q&A with Austin Haynes, who plays Thomas in the film.
BELIEVE
6 April
Based on true events, this touching family film tells the story of when a young lad on the streets of Manchester with an extraordinary talent for football gets discovered by legendary football manager, Sir Matt Busby. See more at leedsfilm.com
