A With the pace of life today, it’s more important than ever to take time out to unwind and devote yourself to the serious business of relaxing. The Turkish Baths Harrogate is your opportunity to step back in time. Although Turkish Baths were common in Victorian times, only seven remain and ours dates back to the 19th century, none are as historically complete and in full working order as the Turkish Baths Harrogate. Our spa is renowned for its tranquil and peaceful surroundings, enhanced by our team of highly qualified and friendly sta who carry out our extensive menu of contemporary spa treatments and therapies. We o er a variety of indulgent and relaxing treatments; from luxurious candle massages to every day essentials such as manicures and pedicures.
Q What is the most popular treatment guests receive?
A Definitely the Turkish Spa Body Ritual – this is a wonderful treatment that encourages an overall sense of well-being. It incorporates a stimulating full body exfoliation to smooth and revitalise the skin, and an energising full body massage using warmed massage oils.
Q Can you give us a brief history of the baths?
A The Royal baths complex was completed in 1897 and delivered various treatments from dispensing of medicinal waters, hydrotherapy departments, peat baths and the Turkish baths as it remains today. The Turkish baths survived through two world wars, the creation of the NHS, seven monarchs and only ever closed through the covid lockdowns.
Q Describe the Turkish Baths experience… turkishbathsharrogate.co.uk
A Your experience starts with a cleansing shower, followed by the steam room. Then another shower before your invigorating dip into the plunge pool. After that we recommend that you alternate the Heat Experiences (three hot rooms of varying temperatures) with a dip in the plunge pool. Guests leave feeling exhilarated, with a sense of euphoria, total relaxation and absolute cleanliness.
