FRANCESCA ALLEN
Stepping into 2023, it's time to say hello to the newest trends that you should be keeping an eye on for the upcoming season. Looking ahead, and with the festive season over, it makes sense to step straight into one of my favourite trends; minimal dressing – something I absolutely love and always have.
Contrary to what some might think, minimal doesn’t have to mean boring, so don’t let the name fool you! Minimal dressing means you can a ord to go all out with the accessories; whether it be a simple pair of studs and matching necklace or an arm full of bangles and a sparkly headpiece. This is the perfect way to glam up any look!
Everyone knows just how much I love an accessory; I find jewellery to be equally as important in tying a look together as

makeup or hair. The little pop of colour or sparkle against a simple silhouette often completes an outfit perfectly.
On the subject of accessories, 80s fashion is making a big comeback; with leg warmers and soft sweatbands and headbands being key accessories to add a little fash-hun to any day time look.
Tailoring is something that will always be in; having key tailored pieces in your wardrobe that you can wear over and over again is always a good investment. I recommend a blazer as we’ve seen over this year, oversized is the way to go and the bigger the shoulder pads, the better! Again referring back to the 80s with this trend, I can guarantee this style will carry you through 2023 and the years after. Throw over your gym set for a casual day look, or chuck on with a short belt and some heels for the night time, the possibilities really are endless.
TAILORING IS A KEY TREND
TOP THREE
My top buys to kick o 2023 are below – super easy to wear, versatile and great to add that little pop of glam to any look.
BLAZER
You can never go wrong with an oversized blazer – whatever the occasion, a blazer will do. It's also the perfect wardrobe item to dress up or dress down. Wear this blazer with jeans, matching trousers or even go casual with a hoodie underneath. Zara in particular is my go-to for all-things tailoring – I wouldn't go anywhere else!
PRADA HEADBAND
As I mentioned before, a headband is the ideal way to add a subtle touch of glam to your look and a gorgeous Prada headband is the perfect statement piece to accessorise your locks, time and time again. Although this may be on the higher price point, this is a fantastic investment piece for anyone who likes to amplify a minimal outfit.
CLOUD EIGHTEEN JEWELLERY
Finally, you can't go wrong with a bit of statement jewellery. These heart diamante earrings (pictured above) are by far one of my favourite pieces from the Cloud Eighteen collection right now. Pair with a matching bracelet and an all black outfit for the perfect pop of glam. I particularly like to wear these with an oversized black blazer dress and tights, meaning the earrings really shine.
