Walk on the WILD SIDE
Yorkshire company James Hare has introduced a chic new velvet design this summer that brings a stylish hint of safari into the home.
Animal prints and patterns are always popular, but the new Shalimar Collection is introducing a wilder element to the James Hare fabric range with Tiger Velvet. This luxurious velvet captures the essence of a tiger’s incredible patterning as it has been spray dyed, a rarely used process that makes the finished e ect more natural and realistic, allowing the velvet’s surface to sinuously move with the light.
Tiger Velvet looks sensational as upholstery on sofas and chairs, but will also make beautiful cushions. Sleek, textural and tactile, this velvet is going to make a statement in any room.
From humble beginnings in a Yorkshire cottage, back in 1865, to establishing themselves as Britain’s leading silk specialist, enjoy the rich tapestry that is the story of James Hare.
James Hare celebrates its 150th anniversary and was honoured with a visit from Princess Ann, the Queen's daughter. HRH was shown around the warehouse, design and pattern department and unveiled a celebratory plaque. The company marked its remarkable history with two distinctive interior collections, Evolution and Richmond, which fuse heritage inspirations with contemporary style.
During the turbulent times of the Covid pandemic and Brexit, James Hare continued to expand and innovate by introducing a passementerie collection of trims, braids, drops and fringes for the first time.
