RS TROUTT
Dining out on SUCCESS
RS Troutt has been a key part of local life in West Wycombe and Halzemere since 1965. Richard Troutt tells us more
Q Has your ethos remained the same since Roger Troutt started the business in 1965?
A Absolutely! We still strongly believe you need to make the shopping experience something special, and we set out to make our customers feel that they have had a pleasurable time when visiting us, as well as availability of top-quality products. We pride ourselves on our personalised service whilst o ering top quality produce to our community.
Q Today, what makes you stand out?
A We have made a name for ourselves by providing only the very best quality produce, and we will prepare everything to meet our customers’ requests. If our clients need something that little bit di erent, perhaps a specific cut, then we will ensure that we can meet their needs.
Q What kind of experience do you look to o er in your two shops?
A All our members of the Troutt family have excellent knowledge on all of our produce and can advise customers on best cooking methods, accompaniments and new ideas. We have a great relationship with our customers and want to ensure that everyone that enters our doors feels welcome and important.
Q Do you get the sense the community sees you as a key part of local life?
A We were very fortunate to be open through the pandemic and it was a great honour to be there for our customers, some may not have seen or spoken to anyone else that day and we made the time to check they were ok and coping. We added in a home delivery service, which went down a storm, and in previous years have supported or been present at various community events.
Q When do you start preparing for Christmas?
A We have been preparing for Christmas for months now. The country has seen the closure of a number of turkey farms over recent times and we have been securing our sources in advance to ensure we are ahead of that curve and can supply our customers with what they will require for the festive season. This has included sourcing new suppliers, or perhaps di erent products from existing suppliers – we are striving to deliver the needs of our community at this time. The one key thing to take from this is that it is looking very likely that there will be discrepancy between supply and demand this year for the traditional Christmas fare and for this we urge you to place your orders in advance to secure the products you need.
Q What will you be o ering this Christmas?
A Along with traditional turkeys – be that crowns, full birds or stu ed – we will have an array of options: bird within a bird, loins of beef, top quality lamb along with the traditional trimming of stu ng options, home made pigs in blankets. If you have a special request, just ask us we will do our best to cover that too!
