Natatorium of Olympic Sports City in Diecai District in Guilin, Guangxi, China Tutor: Ligang Shi | Date: 2013 | Group work Rhino Sketchup AutoCAD Vray
The Guilin's character is formed by the fortitude of mountains and softness of water. The site locates on the banks of Lijiang River in Diecai District. It's close to the mountain and river. So it is an important issue to combine the architecture and nature. We do full consideration from appearance and structure. At first, we use the curves and straight lines. They symbolize the softness of water and fortitude of mountains. Secondly, we consider the structure for the form. We choose the cable arch bracing system and double layer membrane. Double layer membrane structure shows the soft of water as well. We do this choice of technology in terms of the local climate. These practices make the architecture and nature have a closer relation.

TALL BUILDINGS WITH GARDENS D3 Housing Tomorrow Competition Tutor: Xiaopeng Bai | Date: 2012 Group work | Sketchup AutoCAD Podium
Before the tall building appeared, people had lived a happy and free life with their own garden that gives an access to getting closed to the nature and neighbours. The development of city contributes to the increasing population, air pollution and the greenhouse gas. Tall buildings' appearance promotes the utilization of the valuable land and raises the people's density but makes people feel crowed and unfree. The concept of the project is to combine these two contradictory elements, tall buildings and gardens, to create a future life style. The gardens in this building connect together to form a net to help cleaning the air. Moreover, the wind wheel together with the public gardens does a better job in cleaning the air as air filter for the sustainable life.

SHAREABLE NEIGHBOURS
Dwelling in San Juan, Puerto Rico Tutor: Monica Rivera | Date: 2015.9-2015.12 Solo work | Rhino Sketchup AutoCAD Maxwell The concept of unit is to create a "satellite room" for students in terms of a university close to the site. The function of satellite room is flexible by a door connected to living room. The satellite room has a seperate entrance and the entry space of a unit are able to gather for neighbours, houseowners and renters. The entry space has the staircase that can reach the terrace on the second floor. The porch is also created in the community to continue the idea of creating communication space before entry.

Model Grid Logic
The purpose of this studio is to build the project physically. We consider more about the actual scale, structure and convenience of assembly. The site is located in the Steinberg Hall in our school. It's crucial to figure out how to occupy the space by the specific module and its growing logic. In the early phase, a lot of research have been done on the module form and developing logic. We study the massing by Grasshopper and manufacture the module by CNC. Several details on module piece are designed for joints connection. Then they form the hexahedron. The hexahedron becomes the module. We also design and build the bracing piece for catetilever structure stability. The invasion atmosphere is created by the project itself and its shadow.

CONFLICT AND DEBRIS Atmospheric Carbon Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark Tutor: Lingling Li, Jing Liang | Date: 2012 Solo work | Rhino AutoCAD Vray
On the Copenhagen World Climate Conference, countries failed in reaching the agreement to solve problems about carbon emissions and greenhouse effect. One can imagine that the conflict will be sharper with the development of various countries and the ecological damage. Thus I use the image of the debris from the earth broken by the conflict and get the space by the recombination of triangle conflict debris. As a result, the tourists could feel the sense of conflict expressed by every wall. On one hand it can be the commenmoration of the conference which could have solved the problem. On the other hand it is thought-provoking so that people will no longer ignore this issue.

SYMBIONTS OF CITY AND VILLAGE Songpu District Urban Design in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China Tutor: Fei Lv, Jian Dai | Date: 2013 Solo work | Sketchup AutoCAD Podium
I do two surveys during the early stage in design, which conclude that the advantages of city and village lives, and that of the importance of living in people's mind. I integrate the advantages of both city and village in my design to create an public activity area that satisfies public needs in multiple aspects. The activity area centers on the water system that is brought in from outside the base. The water system serves as the axis of the area. Then large residential area lies around the activity area. The entire area thus becomes suitable for both living and tour. The plan provides people a convenient way of carrying out healthy public activities by the design of urban form.
