• Design a common space for a complex of 10 apartments in mixed use building. • Building occupants: students, elderly • Floor occupants: elderly • Building: Former hospital converted to residential facilities. • Public areas: a kitchen, dining area, living area, laundry and the circulation to those areas from the apartments and service areas. • Spaces are the visitors and residents’ first impression of their home. The character of these spaces is informed by the personality you create for this group. • The common areas also serve as places where unrelated people carry out some of the functions of home in a group setting. • Gourmet kitchen for cooking classes • Host parties and game, movie nights
