Life contains many meanings. I think everything that has "breathing" fluctuations can be called life. Scape, as the carrier of life to continue. Life + Scape is the landscape with a long history that I hope will not pass away. It can solve the problems left over from the past and continue, and also satisfy the infinite daydream about the future.
01 Swallowed Island Hong Kong's resilient response in 2050
City
Individual project Location:Hong Kong,China Duration:06/2019-08/2019 Tutor:Sijia Yang
It is foreseeable that the sea level in Hong Kong will continue to rise in the future, and the limited urban space determines that Hong Kong will continue to explore new urban development methods. As the city continued to reclaim land from the sea, the islands connected to form a continuous continent. In the future, sea levels will continue to rise, leading to fragmentation of urban space, and artificially reclaimed land will return to the sea. Under the influence of rising sea levels, I studied the types of coasts in Hong Kong and identified three areas with the greatest impact from the sinking. Two treatment methods (conform, adapt) are adopted to conform the impact of sea level rise and adapt to the changes brought about by sea level rise. This project will design Hong Kong in 2050 as a city with the ability to respond flexibly to global climate change, while protecting local natural resources, returning to the original state, vitality, ecology, and neighborhood friendly.
Island
As humans continue to develop new land and reclaim land for their own needs, the coastline of the Pearl River Delta has become fragmented and complicated. Due to the historical problems of Hong Kong and Macau, the local customs here are diverse and the city conditions continue to collide. These cities also have complex and close relationships, such as water system, transportation, economy, and cultural communication.

HONG KONG'S HISTORICAL CHANGE Since ancient times, the city’s face has been constantly changing. However, the limited land area cannot keep up with the soaring population even if the land is reclaimed from the sea. The population density continues to increase and the per capita housing area continues to decrease. Many problems are exposed.

Facing the influence of the continuous rise in sea level, I determined the three areas with the greatest impact from the sinking by studying the types of coasts in Hong Kong. In general, two treatment methods(CONFORM / ADAPT) are adopted to adapt to the impact of sea level rise, adapt to the changes brought about by sea level rise.
This project will design Hong Kong in 2050 as a city with the ability to respond flexibly to global climate change, while protecting local natural resources, returning to the original state, vitality, ecology, and neighborhood friendly.
The original green areas and mangrove wet areas are preserved, and mangroves are planted in areas that are prone to inundation to maintain water and soil to deal with the impact of sea level rise. Some areas near the sea can be upgraded to sustainable aquaculture areas in combination with the original agricultural model.Hong Kong's abundant bird activities can also promote material flow and soil conservation.

STONECUTTERS ISLAND DESIGN
It is designed as Stonecutters Island after some coastal areas were submerged in 2050. Through preliminary site analysis and Hong Kong’s overall planning strategy, I divided Stonecutters Island into three areas for design, applying the strategy Ⅰ-2 ; Ⅱ-2 ; Ⅱ-3.
STRATEGY
Since Stonecutters Island is the main habitat and residence of the black-eared kite, the original green space is reserved as a natural habitat for birds.

Group project Location:Nicosia, Cyprus Duration:02/2019-04/2019 Tutor:Hongfei Ji, Yichun Liang
Nicosia Airport is very large, but abandoned. We took the concept of origami and compared the terrain to undulating creases. A powerful functional system will be arranged in it. Through the measures we designed, the airport will take on a new look different from before. Every piece of land will be fully utilized, not only to cover up the scars caused by previous wars, but also to provide humanitarian care for the hidden dangers of future wars. When Cyprus is at peace, this land will solve the problem of resource shortage and become self-sufficient. For example, it can form the maximum reuse of water resources in the site. The food crops produced can also be supplied to cities, and the solar panel area will continue to generate a steady stream of renewable energy. When there is a war, the planned areas will be refugee camps, and there will also be clean water and food supplies.

Functional replacement for abandoned offshore drilling platforms in the post-industrial era
Coral
Group project Location:Gulf of Mexico Duration:04/2019-06/2019 Tutor:Yufei Ding
Oil resources continue to dry up, the Gulf of Mexico's oil dig platforms gradually abandoned. One day when the abandoned "giant at sea" is no longer a symbol of destruction of the natural environment, could it be an opportunity for ecological connectivity? We use 16 abandoned oil rigs as the basis for our operating system. According to the suitable environment for coral growth, we form three interrelated areas. The first is the outer quarantine zone, which mainly intercepts the plastic through duck mouth, forming a first layer of protective barrier. Secondly, there is a transition zone on both sides. Algae can be cultured on the floating platform and then released underwater to provide a suitable symbiotic environment and protection zone for the corals. Microplastics can also be absorbed to clean the sea water. Finally, there is the core protected zone, which links the artificial reefs under the sea of six platforms to form a coral growth zone.

The change of space will bring a change of emotional experience. In order to commemorate the 19 heroes who died in the 3.30 Xichang fire, I designed a memorial landscape in Lushan where the fire occurred. By extracting the important factors of the event and the site, I have formed a complete tour route by reflecting the emotional changes of the event. During this tour, the design includes the ups and downs of terrain and changes in space. It has three stages, from reappearing the pain of the fire, to commemorating the grief, and then to looking forward to the future. I hope people can reflect on the past from this fire, stay alert.
