The concept step back plant deck not only makes the crop production based community possible, but also produces a gradual shape which decreases the pressure from large scale building.

Formation

The integration of building height, evacuation of basement, multifunction is the main limiting factor of this project. The graphic above serves to illustrates the various possibilities of spatial combinations in this case, and how I find a proper one. Simple exterior, Rich interior, semi-under ground basement, Semimix of public space and office space is my resolution.

Commercial part

Color Translucent concrete roof, external walls with low reflection white coating and the use of glasses can make a well-integrated design in this site.

A RESEARCH AND A CONCEPT Typical apartment style in northern China

SITE PLAN

Just like the Changan avenue in Beijing, Xi’an also has its own essential lines such as the 5km line along the south ancient city wall. Residence is one of the building Chinese people value most, so everyone in China is residence expert. And I’m going to use the most familiar kind of building to intervene this special area, rather than simply blend in. The way of intervention that I use is differ from the Andrew’s formal way in the National Theater case. I use the functional reform and extending in residents’ life style to have a interactive intervention.

The setting of outdoor garden and the combination of corridor allows the process between home and elevator noticeable enough to become a part of residents’ life.

This hollow area is aimed at reducing the pooling area; increasing the privacy of garden; improving the inferior lighting.

PROJECT4 “Furikazan”

* The word “Furikazan”is from Sun Tzu′s The Art of War Finished in BC514.The meaning of the word "Furikazan" is to teach us what we should do when facing enemy: as swift as a wind, as silent as forest, as daring as fire and undefeatable defense like a mountain.

When Furikazan is applied in Lake Area, it can be used for 3 daily use purposes: 1 leisure and life; 2 accessory building; 3 temporay accommodation for traveler.

A construction which is transferable.

This construction is designed to face the demand of protection from all kinds of disasters and at the same time remain the functions of everyday use. The solution of this issue is to provide a modular construction. As a result, various function clusters would be formed by the differences of combination between each unit. And this characteristic would increase the possibility of transferability. For instance, in inland regions, this programme can be built on the inland waters,like lakes or rivers. When in the circumstance of lake area or seashore, several units can combine into a bigger cluster used to providing entertainment or some daily life functions. In the river basin situationsďźŒ the cluster can also act as a bridge. Last but not least,all the regions just mentioned before are most likely suffer from flood, tsunami,typhoon and earthquake.

A construction incarnate the context and aesthetics.

The conception of Furikazan is stem from the morphology of shells. But Furikazan not only can protect itself, but also can form a more powerful and all-purpose group. The cluster combined with each unit, in the meantime, is the shield of heart!

As a safe house, Furikazan protects the most vulnerable people in the tsunami.

A construction which is economical and compatible.

Furikazan is built up with modular constructional elements which means it can be made in a factories, so we can send it anyplace where most needed. The special framework can keep it from being damaged, in the mean time save lifes when disaster occurs. However, the daily use, as a matter of fact, is to improve the environment; store the energy and prepare for the impending threat.

A construction which emphasize the ecological quality and energy conservation.

In the different area, Furikazan can exploit the local resources in different ways. In the lake district or seashore, tidal power generator and solar panels will generate most of the energy used in Furikazan and excessive energy generated by which will be stored in a battery for emergency use. The water-flow-generator will supply the energy when Furikazan as a bridge on a river. The water supply for Furikazan can be solved by the multipurpose utilization of rainwater collection system and water purification system. This method is suitable for both flowing water-like river basin-and stagnent water situation.

A construction which is follow the ethical standards and social equity.

Today, various disasters are happening with increasing frequency of worldwide scope. This design is aim to create a safety island when the helpless people facing the disasters. Because of this construction is movable when the disaster occured, so it also can act as the role of rescue-boat. To meet the needs of help is the most worthwhile quality of this design. In providing peoples with safety, hope for surviving and limitless posibilities of function, the social problem like the fearful about disasters can be reduced.Just as Marxian Economic Theory mention that every one in the world has equal social equity. This construction can ensure all the people here with the same right of survival, especially the most helpless people-the people on the beach when tsunami is coming... No matter earthquake, flood or any other disasters,people can get equal treatment here. It's not about people's power and money, even a beggar can also receive the same right of alive and living assurance. Nowadays so many people are absorbed in contention of power and money, and caused the compromise of ethical standard and social equity.But we belive that human will have a peace and equal life as long as we never give up.

ACP (Aluminum composite panel) is the plastic for the core, externally bonded aluminum and aluminum applied decorative or protective surface coating 3 layers of a hot high-end composite decorative sheet.

The strength and density of bamboo are higher than nomal wood. Bamboo texture, strainght, cool texture from smooth, the color is simple and easy bleaching, dyeing and carbonization treatment, can be compared with some hardwood.

Plant in river areas use plant fiber to make WPC to build maintenance structure. The main features of WPC can be summarized as: durability; film orcomposite surface can be made into a variety of colorful products; can reuse and recycle, environmental friendly and low maintenance costs.

Glass material presentation

The glass is made by plexiglas of GE LEXAN with not only well resistance to impact, dimensional stability and pellucidity like crystal but also heat resistant, cold resistance, water resistance, aging resistant, uvioresistant and so on. Plexiglas of GE LEXAN is a special compounds and avoid defect of traditional material.

Structure presentation

The skeleton construction adopt high strength cast iron and transformed from basic hexagon, each side is a beam; a unite is formed by the beam and each angle, and each unite form a construction plane in ordered combination, just like this, here com es out the top and bottom of the building, then the skeleton structure combined, now connect each adjacent node and beam to be a triangle, it is good for the fixing of structure, in the middle of the unite become core-tube, it is more stable in this way.

Color sandwich steel plate Light: Less 14 kg wight per square meter, it can reduce the load and price plenty. Fast installation: The plate is light, composite install and make any cut you like leading to simple and convenient to install., so it can increase benefit and sace time. Fire protection: The surface material and heat insulating material of color sandwich steel plate is a kind of incombustible material and meet a requirement of fire protection. Durable: Many researchs indicated that the guarantee period of color sandwich steel plate is 10~15 years, applying anticorrosive paint every 10 years then, the service time of the plate is over 35 years. High strength: Adopting high strength material to be the matrix (tensile strength 5600kg/cm2) with the most advanced design and roll extrusion to make the model. So it has great structure characteristics.

In an event of earthquake, Furikazan disconnects from the bottom of water and land. If the combined units are too many to ensure the structure strength, each unit can disconnects from adjoining units.

Energy utilization

Furikazan obtain resource from local sources for energy saving not only for self-sufficiency, but also for reducing energy. Using collected water from the river and rain water instead of the resources freshwater circulation. The water flow energe can be used for power station.

When flood or tsunami comes, the wave-facing side of catchment pump out water, and the rest catchments pump in. This change would let Furikazan to have a good angle and reducing the damage of big wave.

During temperate weather, the water catchment use auto-adaptive system to have a proper water load. The storage water can improve the self-stability of Furikazan.
