Our Design Philosophy Founded in 1977, Ziegler Cooper Architects designs buildings that are inspirational, highly functional and sustainable, resulting in extremely valuable assets for their owners. Our design solutions reflect a fresh approach that respects the context, reinterprets historical tradition and transcends immediate circumstances to connect with the client’s vision. We pursue innovation with an entrepreneurial spirit, exploring the influences of a building — the uniqueness of the site, its setting and current/future occupants, visitors and patrons. Our Structure Ziegler Cooper is organized into studios, creating a business model that provides specialized expertise to meet the specific needs of each client. This structure allows our design teams to become recognized authorities and thought leaders in each of our focus areas. Each studio is led by a principal of the firm and supported by a design team to provide comprehensive programming, design, construction and project administration

SUMMARY A graduate of Texas A&M University, Steve has more than 30 years of experience in architectural design and management. His work has received several awards and has been internationally published. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Buildings Committee at the Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park. Steve’s passion for community extends to helping to promote the safety of our citizens, police officers and other first responders through his professional work with various public safety institutions. As Practice Area Leader, Steve is responsible for the general administration and review of projects. His clientele includes municipalities and civic organizations, religious institutions, and educational establishments.

SUMMARY Christopher Bent, International AIA, has more than 24 years of experience in architectural design, master planning, project management, construction programming, and procurement. He is highly skilled in managing project operations, meeting both the top- and bottom-line objectives. Christopher is recognized for his complete and effective communications skills, and for his outstanding track record of successful project delivery. Christopher has an impressive pedigree and an unshakable dedication to community development. With a Master’s degree in Urban Design (Urban Regeneration) and a Graduate Diploma (RIBA Part II), from Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, as well as an Honors’ degree in Architectural Studies from the Caribbean School of Architecture, University of Technology in Jamaica, his devotion to community development harks back to his roots in Jamaica and Trinidad.

SUMMARY Eric serves as Senior Project Architect of the Education, Worship & Community Studio. He has more than 25 years of experience, and has worked on a wide variety of projects with a focus and specialty in the design and development of civic and religious buildings. Eric joined the firm in 2015, following the merger of Hall Barnum Lucchesi Architects (HBL) with the Worship, Education & Community Studio of Ziegler Cooper Architects. Eric graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelors degree in environmental design and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Houston Chapter. He is an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Friendswood, and belongs to both the Galveston Historical Foundation and the Alvin Museum Society. As Senior Project Architect, Eric will analyze building components and design systems, propose solutions, and work with the project team to prepare for project design and completion.

With over 41 years of experience in architecture, Ken has been involved in a wide range of building types and architectural systems. Engaged predominantly in the production of construction documents, his goal is developing design concepts for maximum value and constructability. Ken has earned a reputation for efficiently producing high quality design documents and effective construction administration. He is an active member in the architecture community; specifically volunteering and leading the ZCA team in events such as Canstruction and AIA Sandcastle Competition. As Senior Project Designer, Ken is responsible for the inception, implementation and presentation of the Project’s conceptual design and design development, including furniture and finish selection and coordination.

SUMMARY Stephanie earned her bachelor of environmental design at Texas A&M University and has more than 15 years of experience working on a wide range of building types such as community and public, education, religious, and residential. She joined the firm in 2015, following the merger of Hall Barnum Lucchesi Architects (HBL) with the Education, Worship & Community Studio of Ziegler Cooper Architects. She is an Associate Member of AIA Houston. She is also an active member of Shadycrest Baptist Church in Pearland where she directs the children’s choir and participates in the music and children’s ministries. Stephanie’s expertise lies in master planning design, construction document production, ADA and code compliance review, construction administration, contract and specification review, and lastly invoice schedule estimating. As Associate Principal, Stephanie will be the primary point of contact for the client, consultant and project team. Stephanie is responsible for overall project coordination including preparation of project budgets and schedules.

As a Design Professional and Revit Ambassador, Gabe utilizes his skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and Rhino. He is highly proficient in BIM modeling and 3D rendering, and recently earned his accreditation as an Autodesk Certified Professional from Autodesk University. Gabe enjoys collaborating with others, having the opportunity to learn new things everyday, and then taking that creative process to transform ideas and dreams into a realities. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor of science in architecture. He is an active member in the architecture community, participating in annual yearly events such as CanStruction for the Houston Food Bank, AIA Sandcastle Competitionand contributes to organizations such as the AIA Emerging Professionals, Houston’s Revit User Group/BIM Peer Group, and Habitat for Humanity. As a Design Professional, Gabe is responsible to the Senior Project Designer and Technical Coordinator for preparation of design and technical documentation.
