Our Design Philosophy Founded in 1977, Ziegler Cooper Architects designs buildings that are inspirational, highly functional and sustainable, resulting in extremely valuable assets for their owners. Our design solutions reflect a fresh approach that respects the context, reinterprets historical tradition and transcends immediate circumstances to connect with the client’s vision. We pursue innovation with an entrepreneurial spirit, exploring the influences of a building — the uniqueness of the site, its setting and current/future occupants, visitors and patrons. A true expression of our firm’s commitment to creativity, our own office space is an open studio environment that inspires creativity and collaboration. We believe inspirational architecture has the power to uplift the human spirit and provides a constant vision of excellence. Our Structure Ziegler Cooper is organized into studios, creating a business model that provides specialized expertise to meet the specific needs of each client. This structure allows our design teams to become recognized authorities and thought leaders in each of our focus areas. Each studio is led by a principal of the firm and supported by a design team to provide comprehensive programming, design, construction and project administration

services. The range of experience levels throughout each studio allows new and well seasoned professionals to collaborate and share their knowledge of the design field. Our Culture The ethos of ZCA can best be described as a firm passionate about design. Today, Ziegler Cooper is comprised of over one hundred diversified and creative minds with an extensive depth of design knowledge and technical talent. The professional experience of the architectural and interior design staff has been nurtured through internal growth and purposeful recruitment of talented individuals from across the country. Our firm is dedicated to its employees and continuously works to provide an atmosphere that focuses on education and professional support. This spirit evinces itself in our commitment to growth by finding and nurturing quality people, and in the desire to aggressively expand our solid client base throughout Texas and in other geographic areas where clients and special opportunities take us. In every project we undertake, our goal remains constant — excellence in design and service.
ZCA + Mixed-use Vibrant, 24/7 environments to live, work and play are experiencing high demand. Ziegler Cooper Architects is responding to this paradigm shirt by creating microvillages that bring people together. Our mixed-used developments are carefully conceived to create an engaging public realm appointed with outdoor cafes, tree-lined streets, boutique retail and public plazas. We successfully balance and create synergies between the distinct needs of office, residential and retail developers to design highly profitable projects that command premium rents. We are experienced in meeting the design requirements of special planning districts that offer revitalization incentives. And, we frequently collaborate with other architects, urban planners, landscape architects and graphic designers to create pedestrianfriendly urban environments. Providing opportunities for walkability, biking and public transit, these micro-villages promote healthy and sustainable communities.
