March 14, 1493, the first report of Christopher Columbus on his voyage to the New World: After 33 days since I left Cadiz I reached the Indian Ocean, where I found many populated islands of which, made the announcement on behalf of our happy King and hoisted flags, no one opposing it, I took possession. At first I gave them the name of our Divine Saviour, with the help of which we came to this and all the other [...]. as we first landed on the island that, I said, I called Joan, I advanced along the shore to the west. As I saw it so big and not finding limitations, much to believe it not an island but a mainland province of Cathay [...] I went on hoping to find some city or village.

First of all I prepared a lead tube to the ends of which I applied two lenses both flat on one side and one with a convex side and the other one with a concave side. Placed the eye on the concave side, i saw the objects large and near, three times closer and nine times larger than they can be seen by a naked eye. After that i prepared a more exact instrument, that showed objects more than sixty times bigger. And finally, not saving labor and expense, i managed to build me such an excellent tool, that the objects seen through it magnified almost a thousand and thirty times more closer than the naked eye. Ziel telescopes are high quality and precision instruments, ideal either for amateurs and beginners who are looking for ease of use but with good mechanical and optical performance, either for experts of the solar system that go beyond Universe and habitually photograph what they see. The wide range of Ziel telescopes go from user-friendly “refractors”, with excellent contrast and ease of maintenance, indicated for the observation of the solar system, followed by the “short focal length refractors” which are also very intuitive to use and easy to transport, recommended for astronomical and terrestrial observations up to the “Newton Reflectors” that offer, besides the excellent ratio between price and quality, good brightness that allows interesting observations of the deep sky galaxies and nebulae and finally the “Maksutov Cassegrain Reflectors”, very versatile and optimum for terrestrial and astronomical observations. Depending on the model, the Ziel telescopes can be at manual search, motorized or computerized. Cruise Cruise GoTo Telescopes

During the Renaissance many inventions saw the light: the press, gunpowder ... But an invention much nobler was the microscope: an object that through a lens or lens combo can magnify small objects and enter a fascinating new world never seen before. Before it was known that observing an object interposing a crystal lens would enlarge it and in the presence of sun, the object could go on fire. At the time of the ancient Greeks this was an acknowledged fact. the first microscope was made of a simple lens, a tube and a saucer on the bottom. This gave about 10 magnification. People who observed samples through this rudimentary instrument remained fascinated.

Since ancient times, men studied the regular trend of the seasons obtaining practical rules for the cultivation of fields and connected up the succession of certain phenomena to formulate weather forecast, observation of the winds and disturbances to make navigation safer. Towards the middle of the XVII century, essential tools as the thermometer, barometer, hygrometer and rain gauge began to enter in common use. In the following century and throughout the first half of the nineteenth the meteorological science progressed constantly: new tools were improved and invented and other detection networks organized, while new theoretical concepts deriving from other disciplines such as thermodynamics, chemistry of the air and life skills courses especially from navigators, explorers and travelers, being acquired.

ZIEL READING GLASSES A new point of view.
The invention of the first wearable eyeglasses is dated around 1284 by an Italian named Salvino Darmate. The first pictorial evidence of the use of glasses dates back to Thomas of Modena’s portrait of Cardinal Hugh de Provence that reads a scriptorium and it is dated 1352. Another example dated 1403, is a representation of eyeglasses found north of the Alps in the altarpiece of the church of Bad Wildungen in Germany. Other stories, probably legends, connect Roger Bacon to the invention. Bacon is considered to be one of the first to have achieved in 1262 some reports documenting the extraordinary properties of lenses, although he had been preceded in 1021 by the Optic Book of Alhazen, surely one of the most important and brilliant scientists of the Islamic world.
