01 Psychological Exploration Maze

All kinds of pressures in big cities will make people encounter all kinds of problems, and eventually make people lose themselves and fall into it. When individuals face their fears and improve themselves, they can finally overcome difficulties and build stable personal values.

The Bourne Identity

The Bourne Supremacy

The Bourne Ultimatum

"The Bourne Ultimatum" trilogy tells the story of Bourne digging up her past identity after her amnesia, fighting against potential threats and finally achieving a better self. This project translates the movie plot into architectural language, creates different functional areas by typology, and combines them into a maze. In addition, the psychological maze provides an architectural platform that can interact with buildings with the help of virtual reality technology, helping individuals to experience a random journey and various events, and finally realize the cultivation of personal value.

Persona SALE

SALE The growth of consumerism drives novel types of consumption space, while expanding people's desire to consume. Some people think purchasing power represents the ability to obtain social resources, which indicates people's social status.

02 Persona Consumption Mall We are consumers or commodities? Group work with Di Wu Group leader Tutor: Jiaxin Yun Duration: Analysis 50% Model 50% <Digital 80%> <Physical 20%> Drawing 60% <Drawing 50%> <Comic 90%> Time: 2022.07-2022.11 Year 4, First Semester

Enjoy Now Pay Later

According to the theory of Jungian Archetypes, everyone is composed of persona and shadow. So, when opinions such as 'I shop so I am', 'The stronger purchasing power, the higher popularity and status' have been accepted by the society, people would modify their external persona through excessive purchasing to better integrate into society. However, the shadow part of self is gradually encroached upon, with the intensity of persona. Finally, individual differences may gradually disappear. To create different types of spacial combinations, this project is devoted to studying architectural typology, listing and sorting out the patterns of shopping space in different ages and extracting the prototype. The overground part of the mall is a shopping center, the underground part, a mirror building of overground part, is a factory. The project hopes that people can realize that the intensification of personality mask would restrain individual differences by disciplining themselves in the absurd atmosphere of excessive consumption.

03 La Fuente Santa Regeneration Past, Present and Future of Holy Spring Individual work Tutor: Dong Chen Time: 2023.02-2023.06 Year 4, Second Semester

La Fuente Santa, located in La Palma, is a hot spring bath famous on the Atlantic coast hundreds of years ago. Because of its function of curing diseases, the spring water is endowed with the meaning of God, and it is also called the holy spring. However, with the volcanic eruption in history, the holy spring was buried under the volcanic ash forever, but the controversy over the spring never stopped in history ... People with different positions clashed over whether to rebuild the holy spring, and finally the religious judgment came and put forward a "NEW ORDER" to calm the conflict. Nowadays, the holy spring is rediscovered in the underground artificial tunnel. How can the "NEW ORDER" be reborn in the context of today's society? Can hot springs and volcanoes coexist perfectly?

In the 16th century, the hot spring bath was only used by local people at rest, but the arrival of Río de La Plata, the founder of Buenos Aires, introduced the hot spring resources there to the Atlantic coast.

In the 17th century, European aristocrats were proud of having syphilis. When they found that the local hot springs could alleviate diseases such as syphilis and leprosy, they came to La Palma for spa treatment.

On November 13th, 1677, Fuente Santa thermal was destroyed and buried by magma due to volcanic eruption.

Decades of geological changes have made the active volcano movement on the site intense. Experts predict that the volcano will erupt in the near future, so workers quickly dismantle the modular design building and move the units in the building away. Chapter III: Volcanic eruption

Due to the timely withdrawal of the units and expensive equipment in the building, only the frame network made of pozzolanic concrete is left on the site, which minimizes the losses caused by the disaster and facilitates the later site cleaning and building remodeling.

04 Jiangnan Fishery Culture Center Re-dancing uninhabited village Individual work Tutor: Silvia Albano Silvia.Albano@xjtlu.edu.cn Time: 2022.02-2022.06 Year 3, Second Semester

Houtouwan Village is located in the central area of Zhoushan Fishing Ground, which is rich in fishery resources, attracting many fishermen to settle here. At that time, the fishery could satisfy the fishermen's self-sufficiency. However, after the reform and opening up, China's economy has grown rapidly, and the traditional fishery has been unable to meet the people's pursuit of a new lifestyle, resulting in the relocation of fishermen and the abandonment of the village. The project attempts to preserve the local disappearing fishing spirit and meet the needs of the increasing number of tourists. The project selects fishermen's fishing action as a metaphor of fishing spirit, and uses creative translation to transform the "fishing net throwing action" into architectural language, and decomposes the action into three dimensions of line, surface and volume frame by frame, and designs the structure, surface and space respectively. Finally, the fishing spirit will be perfectly integrated into the whole building, designed a cultural center integrating exhibitions, museums and tourist centers.

Houtouwan Village is located in the northeast of Shengshan Island, China. The construction of Houtouwan Village began in 1950s, and later it became the richest fishing village in the area. Since the 1980s, villagers have moved out of Houtouwan one after another to make a living. In 2002, all the residents left, the plants occupied the village, resulting in the house being abandoned.

Xi 'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is divided into two campuses by a river, and now there is only one underground passage connecting the two campuses. However, as students need to travel between two campuses during classes, the transportation efficiency of the original underground passage becomes low. In addition, because the river is located on the south side of the highway, pedestrians on the highway can only enter the north campus, while the south campus is blocked by the river. Therefore, the university urgently needs a footbridge to connect the south campus and the highway across the river to meet people's traffic needs. Considering the transition area between the north and south campuses, the project investigates the architectural style of the north and south campuses, in which the architectural form of the north campus is mostly square with sharp edges and corners; The south campus presents a tortuous posture. Therefore, with Rigid&soft as the concept, the team members designed a wooden bridge with a horizontal and vertical tenonmortise structure and a wooden curved panel outside, which perfectly solved the traffic problem.

La Palma Island, located in the Canary Islands, has a dry climate and is hot all year round. Extreme climatic conditions are a severe test for the buildings on the island. In response to RIBA's call for sustainable development, the project uses grasshopper plug-in to calculate the building lighting, radiation and other parameters in detail. Taking four-leaf clover as concept, the shape of four-leaf clover is studied, and its deformation is analyzed. Finally, the changing architectural appearance is designed to realize energy saving, environmental protection and energy recycling to the maximum extent. Increase the opening of the unit from top to bottom in summer when the sun's altitude Angle is large and the room temperature is high. This allows hot indoor air to be drained up quickly in the space between the unit and the wall without compromising its ability to block direct sunlight. At the same time, cold air can be drawn into the room from slanted "channels" formed by the units.

Increase the opening of the unit from the middle to the sides in winter when the sun's height Angle is small and the room temperature is low. This allows the interior to be flooded with natural light while avoiding direct sunlight. The Angle formed by the unit can retain hot air to a certain extent and prevent the loss of heat radiation. This allows indoor temperatures to be better maintained, thereby reducing energy use and increasing the sustainable performance of the building.
