The Beginning Of A Beginning
The Beginning Of A Beginning written and illustrated by zikra rizwan
Who am I? What am I? A bird that swims? A fish that flies? A mermaid, perhaps. All I know is that I am covered in a bright red liquid.
Last time I checked I was the combination of a milky fluid in a spoon shaped covering with a pink sphere.
Oh, a rope! Where does it lead to? Turns out I am attached to something. Like a dog on a leash. I am chained. This is a strange land.
I feel something, something jutting out. I am losing my form. Suddenly, I feel like a kidney bean. Oh! how I long to leave this lonesome place.
My movement is limited. These soft curtain like structures, I can only curve around them. Some are scary and dark. Some give out liquids that cover me up.
I see deep valleys and tiny hills. I hear sounds. Many, many sounds. I hear liquids travelling. It sounds almost like a waterfall.
I start moving as fast as I can. Carefully, because I do not want to hurt the cacoon I am in. The more I see, the less I am sure of. Wait, what is that? A tiny flap, like batting eyelids. A way out, maybe? I will only know if I go through.
Squish, Squash. I see light at the end of this tunnel. I am almost there.
“Push!”, I hear. “Oh its a girl!”, shouts a lady dressed in white clothes, as she slaps me across my tiny bum. I begin to cry.
I heard a comforting voice say, “Welcome home my little angel. I am not lonely anymore.
