Look toward the land to discover the unexpected.
There are only two real island directions. Toward the land or toward the ocean. Mauka or Makai. Of course, most people think Makai when they think of the island life. But from rain forests to rolling ranchlands, the Hawaiian landscape extends far beyond the palm-lined beaches. For Mauka is an island experience as distinct as the ocean itself. OluKai draws inspiration from this unique Mauka existence. We look to the land for the perspective of the Paniolo or to the rugged beauty of the uplands. We train our sights on a day in Kameula or working a fence line on Parker Ranch. This is the new Mauka experience: the source of our newest collection of footwear.

We founded OluKai with the simple desire to create beautiful footwear that honors the island cultures. Built from a combination of natural materials, rich leathers, and handmade details, our 2009 Fall Collection continues on this comfortable path set by our sandals. With roomier, wider toe boxes, supple uppers, and an easy on, easy off philosophy, our new boots, slides, and shoes feel better because they’re made better. OluKai are well made shoes perfectly suited for all sides of the island. Or wherever your wandering mind may lead.

THEY FEEL BETTER BECAUSE THEY’RE MADE BETTER.
We began building better fitting sandals by forming a contoured footbed over an EVA midsole. It was only natural we would apply this signature comfort feature to our shoes. This time, through uniquely shaped, formfitting insoles that mimic the custom fit of our sandals. Aside from a comfortable disposition, our footwear share an appreciation of special materials and high grade leathers that create the distinct look and feel of OluKai.

2 A sandal state of mind takes some pretty smart thinking.
{1} Drop-in Comfort is a layered system that creates a deep heel and midfoot contour that forms to the foot like wet sand. This sandal design centers, aligns, and supports the foot to assist posture and reduce fatigue. {2} CONTOURED FOOTBEDS are shaped from anatomically designed contours to create a uniform feeling from sandals to sockliners. A personal fit right out-of-the-box translates into longer term, all day comfort. {3} PREMIUM materials means only using the finest to ensure deep, rich colors and a supple hand feel. We source our leathers exclusively from ISO-certified tanneries to ensure the most environmentally responsible process available. 7
