Founded in 1972, its catalogue features designs from the most important contemporary creators including Álvaro Siza Vieira, Ettore Sottsass, Oscar Tusquets, Lluís Clotet, Pepe Cortés, Cristian Zuzunaga, Alfredo Häberli, Jaime Hayon, Konstantin Grcic, Ross Lovegrove, Doshi Levien, Färg & Blanche, Stephen Burks and Campana Brothers, among others, as well historic names such as Gaudí and artists like Salvador Dalí. During its long existence, BD has been recognised by the Spanish Premio Nacional de Diseño (1989), the European Community Design Prize (1990) and the Red Dot Design Award ‘best of the best’ in 2011.
