ICE™

The Ice™ chair, designed by Kasper Salto, marks a milestone in the history of Fritz Hansen: Ice is the first chair from the hand of Fritz Hansen that is equally suited for both indoor and outdoor use. The chair with its rib-like back incorporates the virtues of classic chairs of the past while the choice of materials points to the future. The base is natural anodised aluminium and the seat and backrest are made of ASA-plastic, a both sturdy and sustainable choice. The result is a lightweight, highly comfortable and hardwearing chair. The Ice series also comprises the Ice table with matching design language.

KASPER SALTO 1967Kasper Salto was originally trained as a cabinet maker and later graduated in 1994 from the Danish Design School. In Kasper Salto’s work the Danish tradition of furniture design is continued in a well-balanced combination with international industrial design and its new trends. Salto’s main source of inspiration is nature and its way of colouring. Kasper Salto has already received several design awards for his work. Salto has also designed the NAP™ series and Little Friend™ table.

For environmental reasons all parts on the Ice chair can be dismantled.

The plastic material can be granulated and recycled and the aluminium can be remelted and recycled. The Ice stacking chair has been tested

by Danish Technological Institute and meets EN 1728 for strength and durability,level 4 (out of 5 possible), i.e. normal use in public environments, e.g. offices, according to DS/INF 130, and EN 1022 for stability.

Backrest and seat are in weather resistant plastic material. The aluminium base is available with a satin matt finish for both indoor and outdoor use since the legs and the back bracket are polished chemically and natural anodized – and the seat frame and armrests are chromated, powdercoated silver-grey and varnished. The screws are coated for optimum weather resistance. The foot ring of the counter stool and the bar stool is in stainless steel and with distance pieces in the same material as seat and back.

Seat and back are available in 8 colours: Flint, Chocolate, Mud, Arctic, Lavender, Mustard, Snow and Volcano.

The range of accessories includes linking device for chairs without arms, transport dolly for 8 or 12 chairs, seat numbers and felt glides.

UPHOLSTERY ICE™ is also available with seat upholstery. The seat can be upholstered in the fabric Blitz in a selection of predefined colours matching the colour of the seat and back of the chair. In addition, the seat can be upholstered in the fabric Comfort and Soft leather.

WARRANTY Standard goods have warranty for five years against manufacturing defects (i.e. materials and design). The warranty does not cover leather and other fabrics ordered as customers own or special material as well as products manufactured according to customer specifications. Normal wear and tear and damage of covers are not covered by the warranty. The warranty for wicker and lamps is 2 years.

extended limited WARRANTY Fritz Hansen offers an extended limited warranty if you register your ICE™ chair online at fritzhansen.com/my-republic.

Registration with the product ID number must be made within three (3) months from the date of purchase, otherwise the extended limited warranty will not apply.

Years of warranty: 5 years covers: Fabric, Laquered base, Leather: Soft.

10 years covers: Other parts.
