CENTRAL LIBRARY, HELSINKI

For the grand halls in Helsinki’s new architectural masterpiece Oodi library, kymo individually created and crafted Floorwear artworks in reminiscence of great Finnish fairy tales and authors. Eight handpicked artists from Finland turned their illustrations into large area rugs, for the visitors of the library to dwell and read.

ONE DE SIGN . ENDLESS OPTIONS. How do we sample a concept where basically everything is possible? We came up with this sample set showing a design idea in a variety of different qualities: Eva Langhangs, Lead Designer at kymo, was inspired by a stone structure. She pulled out a small section and adapted it to a wide range of qualities. This allows us to show you product options for a variety of uses and budgets. So each sample showcases a unique variation on the design. Whether in highly realistic detail – almost down to individual pixels and in numerous colours, with 3D structures to offer a variety of pile heights, or just toned down to convey only a hint of the colour scheme.
