M'Afrique Urquiola

Page 1

M’Afrique Patricia Urquiola, 2009 Description Made entirely in Dakar, Senegal by local artisans, most of the furniture in this collection is constructed of a durable nylon cord – traditionally used to make fish nets – woven directly to the frame. Small and large stools are offered in specific color combinations: white/black/green/yellow or white/black/red/green/ yellow. Tubular steel frame with powdercoat finish has anti-rust treatment for indoor/outdoor use.

The African continent is rich in creativity, materials and ideas, a source of inspiration for designers. Moroso has created a small industry in Dakar Senegal, using local craftsman to realize the designs of Patricia Urquiola, Tord Boontje and Philippe Bestenheider. Urquiola’s Touti is the small stool, Reii is the large one and can seat two. Both can also be used as footstools.
