text and image. We were required to develop a new topic that relates
Book
to our first project in this class. My previous project was about medicine, so I designed this book with a vision of future intelligent healthcare as my new theme.
KEY WORDS:
Scientific Tech
SOLUTION:
Concrete
I conceived of the concept of the book and the order in which the story would be told. The whole book is divided into two major chapters, “Challenge” and “Opportunity,” which describe the existing problems in the medical community and how the technologies that may emerge in the future that can solve these problems. Considering that the content of this book is about the future of medical science and technology, I focused on visualizing a high-tech feeling with the image treatment. For layouts, the composition has a lot of detail, I used some fine rules, graphic elements, and color bars to show the precise vibe that science conveys to people.

and its audience, then develop and implement visual elements in a
variety of deliverables that work together as a cohesive system.

I raised a topic from news about the serious problem of abandoned

dogs in the United States. I needed to find out ways to help people understand the responsibilities and issues around dog ownership.
KEY WORDS:
Energetic Playful
SOLUTION:
Approachable
I have conceived an organization called “adoradog. It organizes events on a regular basis to give people more insight into the ownership of dogs. It provides educational and counseling services on the website to benefit dog owners and those who are preparing to raise dogs. The entire project includes a website, logo, posters, advertising, and peripheral product design. I hope my audience will be happy to use my system and can understand that we can solve problems for them well. So for the entire design system, I used bright colors and a flexible composition to create this a joyful vibe.

Have you ever had the experience that you thought about going out with friends or family, but finding that you have no idea where you can go? “Find fun things to do, Find fun places to go.” In this project, I designed an app called “Funmark” to give people advice on where they can find a fun place to go. It tells people what new thing are going on around now. It automatically pushes the newest events with different categories base on user’s subscription. “Lively” is the main keyword I considered when designing the application UI. So I used some gradient backgrounds to create a visual sense of movement to reflect this lively vibe.

present complex data in a clear visual way that can be easily understood and read. The goal is to make a formal and tedious report into an engaging and consistent visual system.
KEY WORDS:

SOLUTION:
Intuitive
The outcome for this project is a new 45-page CSR report for CVS Health. There are four chapters. I used different dominant colors to distinguish each chapter. For the design of the chart, I added icons to visualize some of the information. Also, for the table design, I used graphic elements to highlight key information to make the overall table have a strong visual hierarchy.

I found the flyer of the Tenderloin People’s Garden on a street in
Intriguing
San Francisco. After sorting out all the information contained in its intentions, I concluded that its goal was to “encourage people to grow food voluntarily in the Tenderloin People’s Garden.” After that, I figured out seven intentions from the original flyer. I have proposed three deliverables to accomplish these intentions: posters, a brochure, and a website. I used “harvest, rugged and intriguing” as the keywords of my design. To achieve this effect, I drew some illustrations and created a handwritten font with an unpolished feeling to show the hands-on nature of the garden.

For the brochure and magazine, I continued the similar visual vocabulary from the poster and pay more attention to balance with the visual contrast and readability of the design.
