GOLDENROD BAPT
TIST CHURCH
“The church’s exists for nothing else but to draw men to Christ.” -C.S. Lewis
Site: 72nd and Pacific St. Omaha Nebraska Size: 18000 Sq. Ft. Material: 4’ x 8’ Travertine Panels Boardform Pre-cast Concrete Maple Glass Purpose: 1.To create a sacred piece of architecture whose experience is intensely private, introspective, and non-public that is at the same time very open and inviting to the whole public. 2.To have material logics subvert convention to become the physical, sensual and embodied essence of the project. 3. An church that will form a bridge to a client’s intended use: between the exterior environment and the interior landscape, between the infinite and the individual. Statement: To create a sacred experience in the midst of such a commercial place that would not just attract, but retain attendees, a problem many individual churches are encountering today.

KANEKO: REVEALIN
NG THEATRICS
Site: SE of the Kaneko Gallery Omaha, NE Size: 6050 Sq. Ft. Material: Brick Glass Purpose: 1.A performance center based on the spatial concepts developed studying Gordon Matta-Clark’s Conical Intersect. Statement: Theatre, when experienced, most often happens from three vantage points; it is either seen from a seat in a crowd, from a participant on-stage, or back-stage and behind the scenes. This theatre’s exists to create a distinctly different possible experience through providing a new, fourth experience for those familiar with theatre and expose the theatre to passers-by unfamiliar with theatre altogether.

Material: Clear powder-coated C-Channel 6” x 2” x 1/4” A36 Steel Purpose: 1.Display an enriched undertanding of material defining form through proximity, enclosure, structure, and module. 2.For tectonic detail to express connection of the material logic definition. Statement: The bath house is interjected to provide a relief for those braving the elements surrounding Serra’s piece. Its material subtley juxtaposes Serra’s sculpture while maintaining the same language of the pillars in form and material.

ALLOW
Site: 1320 P St. Lincoln, Nebraska 14th and R St. Lincoln Nebraska Size: 162 Sq. Ft. Materical: Aluminum Cans Packing Tape Purpose: Typically, across the nation, Parking Day projects are a way to express a need for more green space. Lincoln is not lacking, so this project found its own meaning. Statement: The intent of the space is to create a snapshot of the moment at which nature has been so artificially manicured that it has come to the point where nature itself has disappeared almost entirely. this leaves behind the shell; the ghost of what it once was. as society moves in the direction of ov erwhelming consumption and artificiality, will nature find itself caught in a bubble, trapped as simply as an idea...the hollow fossil of itself?
