Boy electrocuted in Sopore Srinagar, June 1 (KNS): A minor boy got electrocuted when he came in contact with a live LT wire in Sopore. Police has registered a case in this regard. According to a statement issued to KNS, 7-year old boy Faisal Ahmad Najar son of Feroz Ahmad Najar resident of Tujar Sharief got electrocuted when he came in contact with a LT line that had fallen at Peth Astaan Tujar Sharief, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bomai. The boy received burn injuries in this incident and was shifted to Sub district Hospital, Sopore for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard. (KNS)

PDP MLA Rafi Mir sustains injuries in road accident Srinagar, June 1 : Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Pahalgam, Rafi Ahmad Mir, has sustained minor shoulder injuries after a road accident in Srinagar, a PDP Spokesman said. Javadeker projects may not be possible soon, the Environment ministry is reported to have short-listed 20-odd proposals which have crossed hurdles of appraisal committee and can get the clearance as early as this month.The Environment ministry is also reported to have started consultations with ministries like Coal, Power, Mining and Steel to give a push to pending projects that run into tens of thousands of crores. To a question on the controversial Lavasa lake city project near Pune, Javadekar said the government was not handling private individual company projects on priority basis and would follow a “transparent process” for the green nod.Javadekar said he would also hold a meeting with Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan to pave the way for pending projects in the state.Though the ministry is keen to ensure speedy environment clearance, Javadekar had on the day he took over made it clear that there would be no compromise on environmental protection and due diligence.The ministry on May 29 launched a new system for online submission of applications for environment clearance. The new user-friendly system, launched by the minister, is expected to bring transparency in the contentious issue of environmental clearance.It will allow the applicants as well as the clearance authorities to keep a tab on the entire process while adhering to the timeline of various clearances\rejections.

He asked the JMC to complete the projects within stipulated time frame for the convenience of general masses. Mr. Bhalla assured that the Government was making all out efforts to extend every help to the people at their door steps. Later, Mr. Bhalla also laid foundation stone of recreational park at Gujjar Colony, Narwal, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 25 lakh. He asked the Floriculture Department to complete the park within prescribed time frame with the facilities like illumination, water tank for irrigation, fencing, pathway, seating and landscaping. He called upon the people to cooperate with executing agency in completing the development works of recreational park. He informed them the Government has retrieved the land from land grabbers then plan to develop a recreational park in the area. The tenders should reach to the office of Executive Engineer Special Sub Division Gurez on or before 07/06/2014 up to 2.00 P.M .The tenders will be opened on the same date or any other date convenient to the opening authority in presence of the contractors who may like to be present. In case the last date of receipt of tenders is holiday, the tenders will be received on the next Working day up to 2.00 P.M. The contractors should not in any case quote more than one rate. Payment to the contractors will be made as and when funds are available to the department. The tender document will be issued by Executive Engineer Special Sub Division Gurez on production of valid registration cards and Tin No’s against cash payment as shown against each work up to 05/06/2014 during office hours, No tender shall be accepted on the tender forms previously issued by this Division or any other Division. Overwriting/corrections if found in rates quoted by the tenderers shall be rejected without assigning any reason thereof. 4. Quoted rates should legibly be written both in words and figures. 5.
