“EMs are part of Hong Kong’s family”, said Mrs. Carrie Lam at today’s lunch Tuesday 10 January 2017 At lunch today at the home of the Chief Secretary, Shalini Mahtani, Founder of The Zubin Foundation together with fifteen candidates from Diversity List 2016 met with top government officials. They included Mrs. Carrie Lam, Chief Secretary, Mr. Nicholas Yang, Secretary of Innovation and Technology, Mr. Lau Kongwah, Secretary for Home Affairs and Mr. Matthew Cheung, Secretary for Labour and Welfare.
“This government has recognised that ethnic minorities are an important part of Hong Kong and can bring critical skills and thinking to its committees” said Mahtani. Five new appointments to HKSARG advisory committees since March 2016 have gone to members of The Zubin Foundation’s Diversity List. Today’s lunch was a closed door discussion and The Zubin Foundation looks forward to further collaboration with the HKSARG. Ethnic minorities have had a long history in Hong Kong dating back to 1843 and many define themselves as Hong Kong people. The next Diversity List will be released on 21 March 2017. 在今天政務司司長官邸的午餐，小彬紀念基金會主席馬夏邐 (Shalini Mahtani) 及來自「多元名單 2016」 的十五名候選人與政府高層官員會面，官員包括政務司司長林鄭月娥，創新科技局局長楊偉雄，民政 事務局局長劉江華及勞工及福利局局長張建宗。馬夏邐說：「政府己經認識到少數族裔是香港重要的一 部分，而且能夠為委員會帶來關鍵的技術和思維。」自 2016 年 3 月起，香港特別行政區諮詢委員會己 經任命了 5 位小彬紀念基金會「多元名單 2016」的候選人作為委員。
