Welcome to Zuma. We’ve been creating our collection for over 15 years, so there’s a drink for everyone. Our hot chocolates include white, dark, organic, double, thick, original, Fairtrade and a pure cocoa. We also make sauce and chai. We like to keep our range simple, just like our ingredients. It’s not that we’re stubborn – we just won’t compromise when it comes to taste and quality.
Zuma Hot Chocolate With 15 years experience of creating hot chocolate we are the market leader in the cafe bar market. Whether you are looking for an everyday chocolate, or to create your own unique blend, our range starts at 25% cocoa, all the way up to pure cocoa. Our chocolates are approved for vegetarians with the majority also approved for vegans. We keep the ingredients simple so you’ll find no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives in our chocolate range. Recognising the demand for natural, organic, directly sourced chocolate from customers we have now achieved our long term ambition of sourcing cocoa directly, starting with the Naranjillo Co-operative in Peru. We care about where are cocoa comes from so we also support the work of the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) to protect children and tackle child labour in West African cocoa-growing communities.
Zuma Original Hot Chocolate Your everyday chocolate for everyone Zuma Original is our classic hot chocolate. A blend of 25% West African cocoa and sugar, it’s smooth and sweet – like a top-quality milk chocolate bar.
HOW TO MAKE ZUMA HOT CHOCOLATE

1. Put 1 scoop (28g) Zuma Hot Chocolate powder into a 12oz cup. 2. Add a splash of hot water and mix into a smooth paste. 3. Add steamed milk, stirring as you pour. Serve with whipped cream, marshmallows and a dusting of cocoa.
Zuma Dark Hot Chocolate Rich and sophisticated with the perfect bitter balance Our Dark Hot Chocolate is made with 33% West African cocoa. Zuma Double Hot Chocolate For when chocolate isn’t chocolate enough Zuma Double Hot Chocolate has a high 35% West African cocoa content and we’ve added in an extra 10% flaked milk chocolate for good measure. Zuma Thick Hot Chocolate Extremely thick and great for dipping Our Thick Hot Chocolate, made with 25% West African cocoa, is our Spanish-style hot chocolate. Steam it with milk to make it thick, then serve it short. Drink, sip or dip with churros or biscotti.

Zuma White Hot Chocolate Mellow, milky and comforting Zuma White Hot Chocolate might not be chocolate (as we know it), but it’s equally satisfying. It’s made with a blend of cocoa butter and milk powders – not cocoa solids, which make chocolate brown, so there’s no bitterness. Zuma Organic Hot Chocolate Organic, Fairtrade, natural hot chocolate direct from Peru With a 40% cocoa content our natural chocolate has an unadulterated and complex taste. Unique to the region where it is grown, this cocoa is non-alkalized which gives it its distinctive warm red tones. We buy our cocoa directly from the Naranjillo Co-operative in Tingo Maria, Peru. Zuma 100% Cocoa Organic, Fairtrade cocoa to blend to your liking We have developed the Zuma collection over the last 15 years by sourcing cocoa and then developing just the right blends for our hot chocolates. But we understand everyone has their own taste. Zuma 100% Cocoa is for you to create your own blend of hot chocolate. Simply mix the cocoa with sugar to your taste, (we recommend Fairtrade organic sugar), add hot milk and serve. As a taste guide our Original Hot Chocolate is 25% cocoa, whereas our Organic Peruvian Hot Chocolate is 40% cocoa. This is the same cocoa used in that. Naranjillo Co-operative The co-operative we are partnering with has been active for over 50 years. It is made up of 5000 farmers and their families. The farms of the Naranjillo Co-operative are certified 100% Fairtrade and 100% Organic. Naranjillo cocoa is grown in three areas in Peru; Ucayali, Huanuco and San Martin. Processing takes place at the newly built $5m plant in Tingo Maria. Unlike most other chocolates on the market, this ensures even more value stays at the plant for the benefit of the workers and their families.
How our Peruvian cocoa is made The cacao tree The main ingredient of chocolate is cacao, which grows on six-metre-high cacao trees. It takes six months for the flowers of the cacao tree to turn into fruit pods. When they're ripe, they're red, orange or yellow - and as big as footballs. Cacao beans The farmers cut the pods from the trees with machetes or long bamboo poles with knives attached. Some countries grow pods all year round, but harvesting normally peaks between September and November, and April/May and July
Fermenting the beans The white, fleshy beans are split from the pod, and left to ferment for three to five days. This process changes them into the flavour and colour of chocolate. Making cocoa The dried fermented beans are transferred to the factory, cleaned and roasted. then dehusked to give cocoa nibs. The nibs are ground to a paste This ground paste is finally pressed to create two things. One is cocoa butter. which comes out of the cacao as oil. And the other is the cocoa we use in our hot chocolates.
Zuma Chai Chai is India’s national drink – it’s loved in every home, sold on every street and served in every shop. We drank plenty of it on our travels, which is why our two sweet and spicy creations taste so authentic.
HOW TO MAKE
1. Put 1 scoop (28g) Zuma Chai powder into a 12oz cup. 2. Add ¹∕3 hot water and mix into a smooth paste. 3. Top up with steamed milk. 4. Dust with cinnamon and serve.
Zuma Spiced Chai A blend of black tea extract with ginger and cinnamon Our Spiced Chai tastes as good as the chai in India. It’s an authentic and warming blend of black tea extract, ground ginger and cinnamon. The balance between the spices is just right. Zuma Vanilla Chai A mild blend of black tea extract, vanilla and spices Our Vanilla Chai takes inspiration from the chai of India.
