ENKHZUL DASHJAMTS/ UNDERGRADUATE OF ARCHITECTURE

ENKHZUL DASHJAMTS/

UNDERGRADUATE OF ARCHITECTURE I am an undergraduate architecture student at UNSW, a globally recognized leader in sustainability and design. My passion lies in exploring the connection between people and the spaces they inhabit. I aim to create designs that address the challenges people face in their daily lives, while ensuring a minimal impact on the environment. I approach design with a strong emphasis on context, aiming to create spaces that blend harmoniously with their surroundings. In addition to my academic background, I have practical experience working in the hospitality industry, where I have developed strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills. I am confident in identifying and understanding client needs, and I approach these with a professional and collaborative mindset. Through my internship, I am eager to deepen my knowledge of architectural practices, professionalism, and real-world project management. Ultimately, I aspire to become an architect who works effectively with teams and clients to create meaningful and sustainable outcomes for society.

01 Musuem of making : PUBLIC TYPE: musuem/innovation centre/ teaching PROJECT TIMELINE: Oct 2024 - Dec 2024 AREA: 1820 m2

SITE VISIT/ ANALYSIS

This project takes place on a site that has been shaped by the human hand for tens of thousands of years. Interspersed between the banksias, gums and fig trees that border Sydney harbour and envelop the headland there are powerful visual remnants of the place’s relationship to ‘makers’ and the impact of the human hand. The site is currently home to the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, their motto is “Learn from the Past - Embrace the Future”. This project asks to design a space that reflects on the complex history of making on the site whilst establishing a new centre for innovation and research into the future of making and materiality.

Through detailed analysis sketches aimed at understanding the site better, I identified the use of stairs as a pivotal element in my public space design. Additionally, the notion of linking the coffee shop to the public space, influenced by their innovative use of raised platforms as seating areas, was integrated into the design concept.

03 TERRACE HOUSE : ANALYSIS TYPE: residential/ studio house PROJECT TIMELINE: Feb 2024 - May 2024 AREA: 200 m2

The majority of terrace houses adjacent to the raised step have small rear doors that open directly onto the step, facilitating connectivity between the terrace houses and the public space while improving circulation. These houses predominantly feature materials like sandstone and timber throughout their envelope, including doors and walls.
