02_ROK_2020 2020 TYP PROJEKTU_BSC(HONS) BAKALÁRSKA PRÁCA TÉMA_FEMINIST CITY, feministické mesto
Ženy majú dlhú históriu vylúčenia z verejných priestorov, ulíc a miest vo všeobecnosti. Ľudia všetkých pohlaví, sociálnych skupín, sexuálnej orientácie, farby pleti a všetkých mentálnych alebo telesných znevýhodnení – mesto musí byť schopné uspokojiť potreby nás všetkých, nielen určitej skupiny ľudí. **More than a body 6

Aarhus,Denmark. In the past, this was highly industrial area with gin distillery, cargo and coal shipping and slaughterhouse .

As factories closed down, low rants and abundance of space made South Harbor attractive for local artist. The site is also occupied by people without homes, who were pushed away from the city centre to the periphery of the city. cit
Nowadays, South Harbor is undergoing a huge redevelopment and therefore faces new challenges such as how to deal with gentrification, social issues, lack of housing and others.
16
INITIAL IDEA-CIRCULATION
The modest size of the flats is compensated by the few generous communal spaces that encourage socialising. Micro flats are suitable not only for people without home but also for those who seek an alternative an efficient and playful ‘home’.
stairs, corridors become vibrant meeting spots
INSPIRATION-MONASTERY
The project aims to combine pragmatic needs with spatial experiences. It is inspired by a traditional architecture of monasteries which consist of a central courtyard- providing a gathering function, and a semi-sheltered corridor which encourages movement.
PUBLIC-PRIVATE
17
The housing consists of public ground floor and private upper floors. Modular living not only saves space but also provides a non-conventional way of living. The furniture and devices we usually use every day are hidden or in-built into the plywood walls. This way, a single room can transform into many functions.

The ambition is to build a strong connection between a project and the city, where the inhabitants and the city benefit form each other mutually as well as to re-generate activity within the area by taking a contextual approach- a dialogue between old and new in a empathetic interpretation of the architectural uniqueness of Merchant City. 20

The project focuses on generating vivid space as well as breaking the stereotypes which will be achieved by creating numerous informal spaces for residents and visitors allowing new places to meet. The building is thus seen as an open space revealing the activities taking place around individual flats. Different housing units will accommodate families, older residents, students and singles with distribution around many common areas, creating the perfect conditions for socialising.

The vision was to create a versatile, accessible and sustainable space which would provide an interactive space for people not only to read books, but participate, learn and get involved. One of the most striking elements of the study Library in St Andrews is the dramatic roof-light, flooding the internal volume with daylight. Well, which is part of the site, became a key precedent for upside-down cone, drawing the sky down into the heart of the library. A large unused green area gave opportunity to create a ‘garden library’ with vast urban planning, large windows and introducing a green roof. This project aims to accomplish wide spaces for socialisation, both interior and exterior. It is a place to spread knowledge and spend time constructively. 24

DESIGN PROPOSAL of a `HOUSE OF WORSHIP ` is a demonstration of both a physical and spiritual journey. The design responds to the context by creating a double shell. A timber outer shell provides a public space for gathering, enjoying the weather, or just contemplating alone. The exquisite perforations give rise to a whole variety of lighting patterns, depending on the time of day and the angle of sunlight. An uninterrupted surface of the rammed earth wall disengages the internal space from its surrounds, there one can encounter an inward contemplation.

The project was conducted during summer Mood For Wood - Common Habitat workshops. Its main goal was to transform the run-down area surrounding Rusałka lake. Logs of wood and tree trunks which were main materials used in the project were obtained for free from the land owner. We used them to create both the obstacles for dogs and places to sit for their owners. The whole project has linear composition, with different types f connections used between its elements. 30

During this project, working as a team played a key role. The task was to build a hexagonal construction in 1:1 scale out of timber lengths. As a group, we needed to cooperate, discuss, listen to each other, decide promptly, learn how to work with timber, to construct and think about foundation to make the structure stable, functional and safe. 31
