What is Surfskate?
Surfskate is a style of skateboarding that flows through the paved landscape like a surfer on a wave. Historically skaters have loosened their trucks to get more of that surfing carve, but surfboard performance has come a long way since standard skateboard trucks were designed. For a skateboard to snap and pump like a high performance surfboard, the front truck needs to turn more than the rear truck. Carver’s patented truck systems are designed to turn more at the nose, so now you can pivot off the tail and pump for so much speed you never have to put your foot down. This real surfing dynamic means that what you learn on the pavement follows you right out into the water. And the workout you get means you’ll be crushing waves like never before, and progressing past where you ever thought you could. The SURFSKATE SERIES features shorter decks that are meant to pump easily and carve the tightest of turns, which is why they excel as flatland surfers. 42” Platypus Here you have a symmetrical bottom mount cutaway deck with large functional kicks nose and tail. The 7 ply deck is light, the wheelbase is short for it’s length so this board is meant to pop, shove and flip. While it’s taller than a dropped deck, the trucks mount without risers directly to the wood for a low profile, and the design of the cutaways along with the wheel wells means there will never be any wheelbite. This is Carver’s hybrid surf and skate truck. On the one hand it’s a lightweight standard RKP (Reverse King Pin) hanger and base, on the other it has a patented geometry that squeezes every bit of turn and pump from the system. This means that you can pump this truck like a C7, but it lands airs and rides fakie with more stability as well. This opens up aerial maneuvers, and keys in with the latest progression of airs in surfIng. Updated for 2013, the more open bushing cup frees up the range of pivot so this truck can pump more than ever. This truck has been in development for years, the dark little secret we’ve been testing to perfection with our friends. It’s the traditional 50 degree RKP (Reverse King Pin) truck that we critiqued on a micro level and fIxed all the bugs. The straighter kingpin eases the rail a bit so you get a smoother range with firmer bushings, which stiffens up the center so pushing and speed are stabilized. The softer rail makes these trucks great hill carvers, and makes initiating a slide easier. This is a symmetrical pair of trucks sold as a Set. The Drop Thru is thru! The Drop Thru base was always a funky work-around, a way to lower the height of a standard RKP truck. No one ever wanted a baseplate sticking up on the deck side! Carver has taken the same geometry and hanger from the CV and made a baseplate that still utilizes the same lowering principle of dropping the pivot through the deck, but we replaced the mounting flange back to the bottom of the board where it belongs. Now standard mounting hardware is once again flush with the deck, as is the base plate. Plus the smaller oval deck cut-out afforded by the streamlined base makes for a stronger deck. This is a symmetrical pair of trucks sold as a Set. Available in 7.5” (10”axle width), Finished in Black Powdercoat or Stone Aluminum (shown). 17

This is our classically proportioned lower profile truck for traditional street skating. Like all Carver products, it is the result of extensive research and testing. We took our favorite standard trucks and reverse-engineered them to understand what determined their performance characteristics. Isolating each angle and dimension, and using prototypes to prove our theories, we combined all of our favorite characteristics into one truck. The result is a truck that turns smoothly but snaps back to center, so landing a trick feels solid. We also dropped the kingpin so it won’t hang up on grinds, and we added a generous amount of metal above the axle for extra long grind wear. We cast the bottom cup washer into the baseplate so it won’t get bent or hang up on rails. We steepened the angle on the slider plate so you feel locked in on nose and tail slides. And in the end, we sculpted the cast parts so they are strong where they need to be and light where they can be, a perfect balance between function and classic form. The Roundhouse Wheel Series Our trucks are all about carving, and wheel traction is key, so we’ve designed a wheel that is all about grip and speed. The Roundhouse is a delicate balance of a square-edged lip to maximize grip and a harder center profIle for speed. The key is in the shape of the lip; thin at the edge but quickly getting thicker, with a hollow relief near the core. What this does is create a spring-loaded, rebounding lip, so each time you pump for speed the wheel pumps back. And because the contact patch is nice and wide you can really dig into your rail and these wheels stick. Made in the USA from custom mixed urethane specifIcally formulated for Carver’s new Roundhouse brand.
The Carver Radial Series Wheel These 65mm wheels have the perfect combination of grip and slide properties. The soft 78A durometer urethane grips the road exceptionally well, but the rounded lip provides a nice breakaway point for slides and speed scrubbing. The center-set bearings allow you to rotate your wheels for even wear, extending their usable life.
Pipewrench This stainless steel universal pocket shop measures in at under 2 1/2” in length, so it’s easy to bring along on a session for on-the-fly adjusting. Made of tool-grade stainless steel, it won’t rust, break or wear out, guaranteed. The Allen key snaps on with a powerful neodymium magnet.

C7 Link Set We’ve upgraded our link so it’s made from Grade 8 steel with extra side ribs at the 90 degree bend for extra strength, and we’ve added a C-clip to the Spring Bolt so that if it ever loosens up it will never fall out. It’s easy to install, just pull the clip off the groove, assemble the C7 as you normally would and then snap the C-clip on.
C7 Spring We’ve made this custom Spring out of Rocket Wire, the best aerospace material we could find, for the longest continuous use possible. We also go to the extra steps of peening the surface, which is a way to polish the surface so there are no minute cracks that can grow over time and contribute to Spring failure, and we lightly oil them to prevent surface rust that also shortens duty cycle. We recommend that you use a liberal amount of Marine Grease (what we use at the factory) or a high quality bicycle bearing grease for quiet and long-lasting action.
C7 Thrust Bearing Set C7 Thrust Bearing Set: Like your wheel bearings, water, sand and heavy use can rust and/or wear out your bearings. can wear out your bearings, so if you’re hard on your C7 truck you can always bring that smooth rotation back to new again with this easily installed double Thrust Bearing Set with double-thick Thrust Washers.
C7 Upgrade Kit Starting in 2009 we upgraded our Bottom Thrust Bearing Washers from standard thickness to double thickness. These heavy-duty Washers are much more durable than the standard thickness Washers, but in order to fit them into the C7 we had to make more room on the Arm Bearing Plate for them. So if youhave a pre-2009 C7 and you need to replace your Thrust Bearings for any reason, whether because you have a cracked Washer or a rusty or worn out Thrust Bearing Set, this Kit will provide you with all the parts you need to rebuild your C7 with the latest improvements, including our newest Link, made with Grade 8 steel with extra side ribs at the bend for extra strength.
