BONDING technology results in extra-flat, welded seams that reduce friction. The reflective BUFF® logo in front and the reflective 3M strip in back increases visibility in low-light situations.

Behind the BUFF® clothing collection there is a great history. During the last 20 years, BUFF® has dressed its athletes to help them meet their challenges, from tough adventure raids to climbs of the world’s highest mountains, BTT trials and the most prestigious mountain races.

Our goal has always been to guarantee that they have the finest BUFF® clothing items. The collection you will see on the following pages has been designed for them, taking into account their own requirements, and these items will be worn by our BUFF® Pro Team in the world’s most important competitions during this 2015 season.

The BUFF® Pro Team is made up of world-renowned athletes with international prestige in trail running, mountainbike or roadbike, such as Núria Picas, Arnau Julià, Anton Krupicka, Emma Roca, José Antonio Hermida or Joaquim Purito Rodriguez. Joaquim ‘Purito’ Rodríguez is one of the top road cyclists of the world. During his professional career has collected plenty of important goals, including victories in the ‘three biggest tours’ (Giro d’Italia, Tour of France & Vuelta a España).

In 2013 he completed his best season being 2nd at the world championships, 3rd at the Tour of France and number one at the UCI World Tour Ranking.

He’s currently leading the Russian team Katussa and competes with the bests in the top world races.

In 2014, the main goal for Purito is winning the Giro d’Italia in May and La Vuelta in Spain, in August.

Entstanden ist dieser Spitzname während eines Rennens, bei dem er einen Angriff simulierte, und dabei an einer imaginären Zigarre zog,Ausdruck seiner starken körperlichen Verfassung. Diese beiden Symbole sind bis heute sein Markenzeichen geblieben und es war sein Wunsch diese mit in das Design einzubauen.

El diseño de la colección de Joaquim “Purito” Rodríguez ha sido inspirada en el mismo apodo del ciclista, con el símbolo de un puro y un cartucho de dinamita, fruto de un gesto que hizo hace años en una carrera tras simular un ataque para transmitir su buen estado físico.

Estos símbolos lo han acompañado hasta el día de hoy, y como petición personal de Purito, ha querido que formen parte del diseño.

Marc Márquez is the youngest man who has ever won the top class Moto World Championship. He began riding motorbikes being only 4 years old, and after growing up winning many races, became World Champion of 125cc class on 2010.

Since then, Marc has broken many legendary records from this sport. On 2012 he won the Moto 2 World Championship, and on 2013 he became the MotoGP World Champion.

For this season 2014, his main goal is to conquer the MotoGP World Champion title once again.

Tony Krupicka, popularly known as the “Naked Guy,” is considered one of the world’s greatest ultra-trail runners. His ultra records are simply amazing, double champion of Leadville, winner of Miwok, double White Rider Champion and many more wins besides.

One of the world’s leading female long-distance trail runners. World Champion in 2012, she has added to her list of distinctions the title of runner-up in the European Ultra Trail Championship in 2013, 2nd place in the UTMB and Transvulcania 2013, winner of the Transgrancanaria 2014 and winner during 3 years at the Cavalls del Vent (2011-2013).

Her career history places her among the best ultra trail runners of recent years. She came 3rd in the UTMB 2012 and 2013, Ultra Champion of Catalonia 2013 and winner of El Cruce Colombia 2013.

Professional firefighter, after racing in many adventure raids and becoming World Championship with the BUFF® team, finally Arnau begun with the trail running competitions. Between his main challenges, he won the TDS 2013 in Chamonix.

Grown up in France, Joe spent most of his time in the mountains. His passion for nature and exploring new places pushed him to the trail running. After winning some races he became a top competitor on the US ultra running circuit.

Der Berufsfeuerwehrmann Arnau war bereits viele Adventure Raids gelaufen und hatte mit dem BUFF®-Team den Weltmeistertitel geholt, als er begann, an TrailrunningWettkämpfen teilzunehmen. Zwischen seinen Hauptwettkämpfen hat er den TDS 2013 in Chamonix gewonnen.

Joe wuchs in Frankreich auf und verbrachte den größten Teil seiner Zeit in den Bergen. Seine Leidenschaft für die Natur und das Entdecken neuer Orte führten dazu, dass er sich dem Trail widmete. Nachdem er an mehreren Rennen siegreich teilgenommen hatte, wurde er zu einem der besten Läufer im amerikanischen Trail.

Zaid, a runner from Morocco currently based in Spain, started recently competing in some trail races achieving some great results. He became popular in 2013 after finishing two World Cup competitions in the Top 5. (Zegama Aizkorri and Limone Xtreme), and in 2014, 2º at Transvulcania Advance.

Ganador de la TDS en la UTMB 2013 y actual Campeón de Catalunya de Ultres. Bombero de profesión, tras una etapa corriendo raids de aventura y ganando el título Mundial con el equipo BUFF®, finalmente Arnau se inició a las carreras de montaña. Entre sus logros, destaca ganar la TDS en 2013 en Chamonix.

2013 war ein wichtiges Jahr für ihn, denn er war einer der Top 5 bei Wettkämpfen der Weltmeisterschaft (Zegama Aizkorri und Limone Xtreme).

Zaid, de origen marroquí y residente en España, se inició hace relativamente poco tiempo en las carreras por montaña logrando ya buenos resultados en competiciones locales. Dio el salto en 2013 consiguiendo el top 5 en dos pruebas de la copa del mundo (Zegama Aizkorri y Limone Xtreme), y en 2014 logró un 2º puesto en la Transvulcania Advance.

Riding since he was 10 years old, this young guy from France became the World Junior Downhill Champion in 2012. Actually he is racing in the Downhill World Championship and combines his professional career with studies.

Born in France, she began racing in triathlons as junior. After becoming national champion and 2nd at the European championships, she kept working hard to become professional. Two wins in a row at the Embrunman and many podiums at Iron Man races made her popular between top class triathletes.

Purito ist der Leiter des russischen Teams Katusha für Straßenradrennen und war zweimal die Nummer eins im Weltranking der UCI World Tour (2010 und 2013). Außerdem erzielte er mehrere Siege in den drei wichtigsten Touren: 2013 erreichte er den dritten Platz bei der Giro d’Italia und 2012 den zweiten Platz bei der Vuelta de España.

Jordi was born in 1980 in Igualada (Spain). After reaching the highest level in Motocross and Enduro racing, he decided to take a chance with Rally Raids.

He got 2nd place in the World Raids Championship in 2012 and finished 4th in Dakar 2012. In 2013 he won the Serres Rally Raid and won the 2nd position in Dakar 2014.

Riding a motorbike for first time beeing 4 years old, Marc became World Champion of the 125cc class in 2010. He has broken many records since then, becoming World Champion again on 2012 (Moto2 class), and becoming the youngest man to win the World Championship on the top class, Moto GP on 2013.

• When was the first BUFF® headwear produced?

Original BUFF SA made the first BUFF® tubular in 1992, thus creating a new textile product category: the seam-free multifunctional headwear.

Nowadays, more than 20 years of history on our back are giving us the know how to keep leading the headwear market.

• Who makes BUFF® headwear and where?

A dedicated team of 100+ people produces the BUFF® headwear. This process is done in-house, from the design stage to manufacturing and shipping, in a 8.000m2 factory near Barcelona, Spain. More than 4,5 million units are made every year.

• Which products does Original BUFF S.A. offer?

Original BUFF, S.A. offers a wide range of products throughout 2 different collections: the Autumn-Winter collection, and the Spring-Summer collection.

• For which sports are BUFF® products recommended?

• Are BUFF® products seamless?

The first product created was seamless and still it is; nowadays the big variety of products considers both, seamless and non-seamless.

• Is there only one size?

No. There are sizes available. The Adult size fits most adults, Junior and child sizes are intended for teenagers from 4 to 16 years old, and Baby size is the smallest and fits kids up to 3 years of age. By having three sizes we achieve a perfect fit for the different consumer sizes. Also designs are specific according to the age.

• Is it possible to customize BUFF® headwear?

Yes. Apart from our retail stock BUFF® collection, Original Buff, S.A also designs and manufactures custom BUFF® imprinted with company logos, associations, clubs, and events. Please ask for our Custom BUFF® catalog if you are interested.

• Why other brands are generally cheaper?

There are many reasons. Generally, the type of materials competitors use are less expensive and are of lower quality, even though they claim to use microfibers. Most competitors also do not invest in R&D, design, or neither have a marketing department dedicated specifically in this category so they have lower costs. We are completely confident that consumers recognize our superior quality and the added value that BUFF® products provide.

• What degree of sun protection can I expect from this Spring-Summer BUFF® collection?

According to tests made by LEITAT-Textile Technology Institute, our High UV BUFF® version offers an average of 95% UV rays blockage or a protection of UPF 20. Due to the 2 layers, the caps offer an average of 98% UV rays blockage or a protection of UPF 50.

Samples of fabrics have been tested for erythermally effective UV protection by LEITAT-Textile Technology Institutes in accordance with the standard AS/NZS4399:1996 “Sun protective clothingEvaluation and Classification”, results ranged from 93,3% (UPF > 15) to 96,7% (UPF>30), averaging 95% UV protection (UPF>20).

Samples of fabrics have been tested for UV protection by LEITAT-Textile Technology Institutes in accordance with the standard AS/NZS4399:1996 “Sun protective clothing-Evaluation and Classification”, results averaging 98% UV protection (UPF>50).

• How do I know I bought an original BUFF® product?

Just to look for our BUFF® logo. All BUFF® products always have a BUFF® logo printed or sewn on the textile. At retail shops, it is sold with a unique header packaging where the logo is very visible.

• Has the BUFF® logo changed?

Yes, it has evolved. Over these 20 years the brand has matured and now we’ll challenge the future with a fresh image.

• Sind alle BUFF® Produkte ohne störende Nähte?

Bereits das erste BUFF® Tuch war nahtlos und ist es natürlich auch heute noch. Unser großes Angebot an verschiedenen Produkten bietet inzwischen beides – nahtlos und Produkte mit Nähten.

• Gibt es nur eine Größe?

Nein, es gibt drei Größen. Die Adult-Größe passt fast allen Erwachsenen. Die Größen Junior und Child sind für Kinder im Alter von 4 bis 16 Jahren geeignet. Die Baby-Größe ist die kleinste Größe und ist passend für Kleinkinder bis zu 3 Jahren. Mit diesen drei Größen erreichen wir eine perfekte Passform für die unterschiedlichen Kopfgrößen. Auch die Designs werden auf die Größen bzw. Altersgruppen abgestimmt.

• Besteht die Möglichkeit, BUFF® Headwear individuell zu gestalten?

Ja! BUFF® bietet Ihnen die Möglichkeit, neben der aktuellen Kollektion ihr eigenes individuelles BUFF® Design zur produzieren. Sie können das Logo Ihrer Firma, Ihres Vereins oder einer Veranstaltung auf das Buff® drucken lassen. Bitte fordern Sie bei Interesse die Customized Buff® Broschüre an.

• Warum sind andere Marken günstiger?

Gemäß allen durchgeführten Tests im Auftrag des Instituts LEITAT-Textile Technology Institute bietet unser Artikel High UV BUFF® einen durchschnittlichen Sonnenschutz von 95%, dies entspricht einem UV-Schutzfaktor 20. Unsere CAPS bieten dank zweier Stofflagen einen durchschnittlichen UV-Schutz von 98%, gleichbedeutend mit einem UV-Schutzfaktor 50.

Die Stoffproben wurden vom LEITAT-Textil-Technologie Institute bezüglich des UV-Schutzes und des Schutzes vor erythemwirksamen Strahlen getestet. Die Tests fallen unter den Standard AS/ NZS4399:1996 “Sonnenschutz Bekleidung-Bewertung und Klassifizierung”. • ¿Los productos BUFF® no tienen costuras?

El primer producto creado era y sigue siendo sin costuras. Entre gran variedad de productos de que disponemos actualmente, los hay con y sin costuras.

• ¿Existe sólo una talla?

No. Hay tres tallas disponibles. La talla Adult que se adapta, a la mayoría de adultos, la talla Junior / Child para niños de 4 a 16 años, y la más pequeña, la talla Baby, para niños menores de 4 años. De este modo, el producto se adapta mejor a las necesidades de nuestros clienes más jóvenes. También el tipo de estampado es distinto según la edad.

• ¿Se puede personalizar el estampado de un tubular BUFF®?

Sí. A parte de los productos BUFF® de nuestra colección, Original BUFF, S.A. también diseña y fabrica tubulares BUFF® personalizados con el logotipo de empresas, asociaciones, clubes, eventos, siempre pensando en promociones de alto nivel. • ¿Porqué otras marcas generalmente son más baratas?

Hay muchas razones: porque los materiales usados son más baratos y de calidad inferior, aunque mencionen en su composición que también usan microfibras; porque no tienen departamento de diseño ni investigación, y básicamente se dedican a copiar; porque tienen mucha menos variedad y por tanto menos costes; porque no invierten en márketing, etc. A pesar de todo ello, estamos convencidos que el cliente reconoce las ventajas y el valor añadido que le proporciona BUFF®. .

De acuerdo con los test realizados por LEITAT-Instituto Textil Tecnológico, el High UV BUFF® ofrece una media del 95% de bloqueo de los rayos UV o una protección UPF 20. Gracias a sus 2 capas, las gorras ofrecen de media un 98% de bloqueo de los rayos UV o una protección UPF 50.

Muestras de los tejidos son testadas por LEITAT-Centro Tecnológico Textil, para una protección efectiva del eritema causado por los rayos UV de acuerdo con la norma estándar AS/ NZS4399:1996 “Sun protective clothing-Evaluation and Classification”, con resultados obtenidos entre el 93,3% (UPF>15) y el 96,7% (UPF>30) y con un promedio del 95% UV (UPF>20).
