GET OUT THERE! We have been told to stay at home during the past months and for a good reason. A certain amount of self-discipline will go a long way in dealing with many of the problems out there. But there‘s also that urge inside all of us—the desire to leave our homes, schools, and offices. To be active, enjoy nature and the fresh air outside. And this urge doesn‘t really contradict the need to follow certain rules. Maybe the challenges we‘re facing these days are helping us re-focus on what snowboarding is all about: Grabbing your board, riding, and having fun in the mountains. Not at the apréski, clubs, bars, or crazy bunker parties, but having a good old‘ time in the snow. Whether all by ourselves, with our families or just a few buddies. Snowboarding has so much to offer for every one of us, no matter what their style, gender, age, or budget. The sheer sensations of making turns on groomers or in the pow, the occasional jump off a side hit or a kicker, riding the park or the pipe. This is what got us here, and this is what we all love. When we started Nitro Snowboards over 30 years ago, there was no grand master plan. Just pure passion for snowboarding and many ideas for products. Not even a business plan or a long-time perspective. We didn’t think about what Nitro would be in 30 years, and we focused only on the stuff we wanted to build.

And after all these years, we still feel humbled whenever we see someone ride one of our products. Somebody who spent their money on something we developed, designed, and produced. It makes us proud and reminds us of our responsibility to make good products for people who want to go snowboarding. We must always remember that we are not system relevant. Nobody actually needs our stuff; we make luxury products for people to have fun with. One of our key brand values is mutual respect. It starts with our employees, continues with our partners, suppliers, and distributors, and reaches all the way to the riders out there buying our products. This family feel makes us who we are. We pride ourselves in supporting a great team of riders, many of whom have been with Nitro for their entire career and beyond. Not just a marketing tool, our Team is an indispensable source of inspiration and feedback. Together we build our dreams, the new products we’re all getting stoked about. Being a privately owned company without obligations towards some anonymous investment company, we are putting the money that’s generated back into snowboarding. It is that feeling of respect and responsibility, which makes our constant reinvestment in snowboarding the most natural thing. There is a network of people who are dedicating their lives to snowboarding, and we depend on each other’s support. This page is dedicated to two amazingly talented and outstanding individuals: Eero Ettala and Knut Eliassen both are celebrating their 20th anniversary with Nitro Snowboards this year and they both have positively impacted our company in many ways. Eero is more than a legend, he is an inspiration for many snowboarders and our entire company. FUELED BY THE VARIET Y OF PEOPLE IN OUR NITRO FAMILY Diversity has been the design creed of the Nitro snowboard line since the beginning, and there is a long list of industry firsts in board shapes from the early ´90s until today. This variety is not driven by coming up with the ‘next crazy new thing’, though: It pays respect to different riding styles, from weekend warrior to pro, from park to pow, from resort to the backcountry. It is fueled by the variety of people in our company, from technician to salesman, from team rider to the kids in our families. This allows us to come up with a great variety of boards that are - above all – functional and fun.

SNOWBOARDS

SHAPES EASY TO RECOGNIZE, AND TOGETHER WITH THE GRAPHICS THE MOST PROMINENT FEATURE A BOARD HAS. Directional boards work best in freeriding and backcountry conditions. The longer the nose, the more flotation you have in powder and the more forgiving your board will be on these big cruising turns. Also, typical carving boards are shapes directionally. Directional boards also have several sub-categories such as swallow tails, tapered outlines, and other specific features. Twintips are the choice shapes for park riding. Normal or switch, your board will feel the same ridden either way. Directional twins represent the best of both worlds and can be found on most all-mountain boards. Just enough twin shape to feel balanced in the park, yet a bit more nose than tail for more flotation and ease of turning in the untracked snow

People thought we were out of our minds when in our first collection of 1990, we presented the “Retro”, a 171 swallow-tailed powder board which we designed as a tribute to the early, surf-inspired days of snowboarding. And we basically kept a swallowtail board in the line every year since then. However, the most challenging boards to design are the ones that look quite ordinary, as they must work in a variety of conditions and for many riding styles and levels. For most of us, a well-balanced all-mountain board is still the best choice. We take pride in offering boards in all price categories, too. Not everyone can afford high-end boards and we feel a responsibility to make products also for slimmer wallets, so more people can go out and enjoy riding with their buddies. And we proudly design rental boards that equal our in-line models in tech, function, and looks. A snowboarder is a snowboarder, we are all one community. We’re doing our best to describe each board model for you here, explain the technical details and differences so you can choose your stick of choice. The best purchasing advice we can give you is to go out and test our boards. Many of our shops are running demo events and programs. Here are a few things to look for to understand which boards may suit your style.

SIDECUTS

MORE THAN ONE CAN FEEL BY HAND-FLEXING

DIFFICULT TO SEE, BUT WITH A MASSIVE EFFECT ON PERFORMANCE.

We spend more time on fine-tuning a board’s flex than on shaping it. The core profile and flex of a board has to match the outline, and we optimize not only the board’s overall stiffness, but also the distribution of stiffer and softer areas along the length of the board as well as the torsional flex. Every parameter must correspond with the board shape to make a truly fun and functional board.

Developing functional sidecuts has been our passion since the beginning. The actual shape of the board’s sidelines is extremely important to its characteristics. From dual degressive (mellow and forgiving), to radial (super versatile) to various degrees of progressive (great for carving and acceleration), there is a big selection of sidecuts and board feels within the Nitro line. Once again, theory is good, but testing is better and you will definitely feel the differences, no matter what level rider you are.

CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS – FUNCTION OVER GIMMICKS

We have experimented with dozens of camber and rocker variations of the years and are now focusing on the most truly functional camber lines to avoid confusion and make selection easier.

Over the decades, we have developed a huge array of different construction techniques and materials, some of them ideal for general purpose boards, others designed specifically for certain needs. While we always strive to design boards with maximum simplicity, certain features, and materials enhance the board in a specific way. Here is a small selection of proprietary features, more can be found in our board tech section:

Standard Camber boards are best suited for higher speeds, carving, and big mountain riding, as this gives the board maximum stability and control. 14

Flatout Camber boards are essentially flat, and the early tip and tail rises make the board playful, easy to rotate, and forgiving. Found either on entry-level or certain park boards.

POWER PODS Overlaying a tighter sidecut radius in the center of the board with a larger one towards tip and tail is creating our exclusive POWERPODS which have two amazing effects: On one hand, there is extended board width under the bindings, resulting in additional edge control, especially on hard and icy surfaces as well as simply less toe and heel drag for larger boots and flatter stance angles. On the other hand, our POWERPODS make the board super reactive and fast turning once it’s put on edge – while keeping it easy to control if ridden with less dynamics.

Cam-Out Camber combines the two above versions, making for truly versatile boards with enough grip for medium to higher speeds, but keeping them loose and forgiving through the turns.

Gullwing Rocker is a hybrid of cambers under each foot, with raised contact points for a playful feel and a fun combination of control and playfulness. HIKE PODS Featured exclusively on our Doppleganger split board, the Hike Pods are specifically designed to add grip under the bindings in hiking mode, making those icy traverses just a bit more fun!

SOFTRIDE FLEX A Nitro exclusive construction: Spider web-like binding raisers allow us to make sweet softflexing boards for young shredders while respecting all required standards for binding insert depth and pullout strength. Featured on smaller Ripper and Spirit sizes.

RAIL KILLER EDGE Your secret weapon for rails, rocks, and longevity! With its unique edge profile and an impact resistance of more than 200% compared to a standard edge – the Railkiller Edge is twice as thick and twice as strong. This proprietary construction can take on any rail challenge. Take a file to them or ride them hard and wear them down naturally, this chunk of steel has enough meat for years of abuse.

KOROYD™ POWERCORE The latest in core technology, utilizing co-extruded miniature tubes, vertically aligned and welded, with unique energy absorption properties, Koroyd™ is approximately 70% lighter than standard balsa wood, with no loss in strength or flex. This engineered core is utilized in the tip and tail areas of the HIGHL ANDER, DOPPLEGÄNGER, and VICTORIA models for a smoother ride, and reduced swing mass and overall weight.

BALLISTIC IMPACT PANELS Kevlar© is used in bulletproof vests and body armor to protect your core. We use it in strategic places around the binding-to-board interface to protect the construction from impacts during hard landings.

ANTIPHASE™ Joining forces with our friends at Amplid® Snowboards, we are utilizing Antiphase™ technology which reduces vibrations and greatly improves board stability. Unlike conventional damping, which relies on rubber elastomers to reduce vibrations, Antiphase™ is a multidirectional composite layer bonded to a non-Newtonian material, which is placed between the tip and binding. It disrupts the natural frequency of an oscillating snowboard, stopping vibrations which otherwise amplify and end up as tip chatter. Ride faster and stay in control!

T1 X FABIAN FUCHS „My approach to the graphic was to create an intimate personal conversation between rider and board. The bottom instead is designed to pop out and work well on footage. Since the board is a true twin tip it is important to me to have a symmetrical graphic that works well riding regular and switch. The artwork itself is a dancing and loosely connected story. It can be filled with life and meaning by each rider individually over time. I interwove concepts of multiverses, female and male energy and the forces of nature. The colorful elements on nose and tail are friendly winks to smile and level up the good karma. SPLITBOARD PACK AGE VERTICAL SKINS Pre-cut to fit Doppelganger and Squash, the VERTICAL skins are tailored for high performance thru Kohlaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s new FIBER SEAL and SMART GLUE technologies. FIBER SEAL TECHNOLOGY prevents the skin construction from absorbing water to maintain a lightweight skin and good grip and a low friction glide in changing conditions. SMART GLUE is a solvent-free adhesive with better bonding in wet or cold conditions. Skins with SMART GLUE are easier to release than traditional hot-melt skins.

PEAK SKINS PEAK skins are pre-cut to match all NOMAD and VOLTA shapes and are built to last without breaking your bank using solvent-free Hot-Melt technology.

UNIVERSAL SKINS These PEAK skins can be cut to fit any splitboard up to 175cm length (skin size is 170cm x 13,5cm). An angled stainless steel bar at the front end and the proprietary butterfly multi-clip at the tail allow you to mount these skins onto almost any board shape. the set comes with a packing sack, cutting knife and DIY instructions.

Custom fitted climbing skins made in Austria by KOHL A will be available to all 2021/22 NITRO splitboard models and sizes. Metal Speedhooks on both ends are matching the mounting holes in the boards tip and tail to set them up perfectly aligned in just seconds. A mix of 65% Mohair and 35% synthetic Nylon fibers make these skins glide effortless while generating maximum grip when it gets to the top. All skins are marked for left and right and come in a lightweight packing sack made of recycled material.

New on all Nitro park boards, we are introducing our URESHRED sidewall: Just like Skate wheels and bushings, these sidewalls are made from Polyurethane, which makes them highly resistant against impact and abrasion as well as giving them excellent dampening characteristics. Together with our exclusive Railkiller Edges, our URESHRED sidewalls provide the ultimate package of edge durability and feel.

New construction of our Ureshred Polyurethane sidewall material integrated into the core strengthens the core on the heel side edge. The sidewall material has a curved design in the wood core, a +20mm peak in-between the bindings. This additional sidewall material provides extra durability and dampening properties while improving the agility to get on and off your heel side edge. The Powerwall is found on the Optisym and Drink Sexy snowboard to give more support for flatland tricks and added durability for carving and knuckle tricks.

RAILKILLER EDGE Your secret weapon for rails, rocks and longevity! With its unique edge profile and an impact resistance of more than 200% compared to a standard edge â&#x20AC;&#x201C; the Railkiller Edge is twice as thick and twice as strong. This proprietary construction can take on any rail challenge. Take a file to them or ride them hard and wear them down naturally, this chunk of steel has enough meat for years of abuse.

BALLISTIC IMPACT PANEL KevlarÂŠ is used in bulletproof vests and body armor to protect your core. We use it in strategic places around the binding-to-board interface to protect the construction from impacts during hard landings.

HIKE PODS

Overlaying a tighter sidecut radius in the center of the board with a larger one towards tip and tail is creating our exclusive POWERPODS which have two amazing effects: On one hand, there is extended board width under the bindings, resulting in additional edge control, especially on hard and icy surfaces as well as simply less toe and heel drag for larger boots and flatter stance angles. On the other hand, our POWERPODS make the board super reactive and fast turning once itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s put on edge â&#x20AC;&#x201C; while keeping it easy to control if ridden with less dynamics.

PROGRESSIVE WIDTH The progressive width is an exclusive feature on the Suprateam, Santoku, Cinema, and Ripper Youth. Starting out with a medium width profile at the smallest size, these boards get progressively wider as they go up in size, ensuring an ideal board-to-boot match and a perfectly balanced board for riders of every size.

BOARD TECH CAMBER LINES people become better snowboarders. We have decided to cut the crap and keep snowboarding simple by simplifying our camber names and technologies to only those that work, and that are approved by our regional and global team riders, and friends. That is why we have chosen to offer the four camber profiles that really work, and we are not overcomplicating things by micro-slicing and renaming them – Even though all of our camber profiles are adjusted to match the type of person or terrain the boards are designed for, but TRUE camber is camber, Gullwing is Gullwing, Flat-Out is Flat-Out, and Cam-Out is Cam-Out. Real camber technology that works and does not need a marketing scheme to prove it.

TRÜE CAMBER Trüe Camber is good old standard camber, which provides the stability, and pop many shreds can´t live without. The amount of snap and support you get from a cambered board is unrivalled by any other camber design. Our Trüe Camber varies between board models because each board is specifically designed for a certain terrain or type of riding, for example the Trüe Camber in our Pantera has a larger height for maximum response, while the Trüe Camber in our freestyle boards are lower to provide you with a more freestyle friendly flex, without losing the support and trust you need for stomping landings. Camber is Camber there is no point in over complicating it!

FLAT-OUT ROCKER Our Flat-Out Rocker is a hybrid flat camber profile where the nose and tail lift off before the traditional contact points, providing effortless turns, and catch-free maneuvers. The lifted nose and tail provide excellent float, pressability, and forgiveness in any terrain. The ultimate hybrid between Zero Camber and Reverse Camber to allow you to have the most playful yet stabile ride for easy progression and all-mountain domination. The profile of choice for park, freestyle, and urban riders worldwide.

CAM-OUT CAMBER Our Cam-Out Camber is basically a Trüe Camber with early and smooth transitions into tip and tail. The result is a fun and responsive board that turns on the spot and is forgiving, even after that 713.5° landing!

GULLWING ROCKER A hybrid camber/rocker profile in a league of its own, Gullwing Rocker offers the best of both worlds for the all-mountain destroyer. The positive camber under each foot supplies riders with the response they know and love while the reverse camber profile in the center allows you to experience unparalleled float in the powder, as well as pressability in the park. This do-itall design allows you to have a quiver of one and ride the whole mountain like a terrain park.

SIDECUTS Sidecuts are as important to a board’s performance as flex and camber/rocker lines. A sidecut defines how a board turns, carves and holds an edge. But, it’s the combination of all the features that make a board work well for it’s designed purpose. Nitro has pioneered most of today’s common sidecut geometries and has access to over 30 years of experience of fine-tuning each board model. This is why we felt it is important for us to simplify the tech jungle for you. You can get a first taste of what the shapes will feel like, but you can leave it up to our engineers to make each board just right for you!

PROGRESSIVE SIDECUT A larger radius in the front, blended into a tighter one towards the tail: The progressive sidecut makes accelerating out of turns a breeze, while maintaining a catch-free nose area.

RADIAL SIDECUT The simplest and most common of all sidecuts: One single radius makes this sidecut extremely versatile and predictable.

DUAL DEGRESSIVE SIDECUT This sidecut blends a smaller radius in the center with two larger ones in the tip and tail, making it loose and playful. Nitro´s most forgiving sidecut.

But it’s the combination with camber and sidecut that makes a board magic – or trash. And don’t be fooled: Hand flexing a board in the shop may give you a first hint, but it takes a lot of experience to make a correct judgement of a board’s performance by flexing it in the shop. The shape of our highbacks is dialed to perfectly match the contour of our boots, the ankle straps outline and support matches the boots flex and the vibram toe strap wraps around a boots toe box like no other. To maintain a boards natural ride and response without the binding causing a dead spot in the mounting area, we believe in the reduced foot print of our mini disks compared to standard mounting systems. Overall, a bindings task is to deliver maximum control and instant response, absorb impacts and eliminate vibrations such as heel chatter for a smooth ride. A Bindings #1 job within the system of Board-Boot-Body is to transfer a riders impuls and make the board follow your mind. Nitro established the 3-piece-baseplase design with a size adjustable heelcup. Fine-tune your bindings size, gaspedal and strap position, highbacks angle and rotation to customize the fit between your boot and binding interface for a seamless transmission with no lack of response. To accelerate a bindings response, Highbacks and baseplates are made of lightweight carbon fibers from ‘TORAY’™ and engineered polymers from DUPONT®, 7000series aluminum heelcups and forged buckle levers. Nitro invented steel cable reinforced ratchet straps and connectors for extra strength and zero stretch to make any input instant. The mini disk reduces a bindings foot print on the board and eliminates the deads-pot in a boards flex pattern.

Nitro progressed Air technology to become the lightest suspension tech in bindings. Compared to cheap foams and gels, Air maintains its compression capabilities over a wide range of temperatures. Most materials become rock solid at below Zero temps, while air keeps stable and performs reliably on cold, hard pack days or during sunny spring sessions. Airbags provide up to 30% more travel than foams or gels, leading to significantly lower impact forces on the human body. The air pressure within the system is set to match a riders profile, with lower settings for fun cruises and more progressive on bindings for park and contest riders.

ÜBERGRIP TOE STRAP with Vibram© EcoStep™ rubber Co-developed with VIBRAM®, known for their high performance rubber outsoles, we designed a toe strap that combines the shape and feel of our B.E.S.T. Convertible toe strap concept with the sticky ECOSTEP rubber from VIBRAM®. All Nitro boots are constructed using the same principle: from the inside out. We’re wrapping your foot in comfortable first layers and build up structure and support exactly where needed, step by step towards the outside and the shell. The result is a boot that is comfortable, but provides foothold, support and flex in exactly the right spots.

BUILT FROM THE INSIDE OUT

So here’s a breakdown of how every aspect from general construction philosophy, materials and techniques, down to the last detail on our boots serves only one purpose: to make your Nitro boots fit like a second skin and help your riding to progress with a maximum of comfort, performance and a minimum of foot fatigue. Let’s take our most iconic and best-selling boot model - the Team - as an example here. Of course, higher end models boast even more features and others are a bit more streamlined, but the general concept and fit is the same throughout the entire Nitro line of boots.

LINER COMFORT ZONE

SHELL / LINER INTEGRATION

The liner is the part of the boot you feel the closest, so the focus here is on comfort, thermal insulation, and heel fit.

KEEPING IT ALL TOGETHER The way liner and shell connect is another key element to a great boot. The more precise these two components interact, the better the Boot will fit and perform.

THERMACELL MATERIAL We use Thermacell, a relatively soft, special thermoformable foam that is already precision lasted at the factory using our proprietary lasts but can be fine-tuned by your shop or even yourself. Every foot shape is different, and we know that even your body heat will be enough to help shape the liners to your foot just by riding them for a few days. LATEX L-PADS Heel hold-down is key to snowboarding, and we are using custommolded, natural Latex L-pads that will keep your heel in place without pressure points for season after season without packing out. LINING Our lining materials are moisture-wicking, breathable and are specifically paneled for maximum heel grip with easy entry and exit. FLEX TOE We have introduced the Flex Toe over 20 years ago and have seen many other brands trying to copy this innovation since then: using a slightly thinner and more flexible neoprene material, we are creating more toe space, allowing you to move your toes for more comfort and warmth.

PRECISION LASTING We have designed our own shell lasts for minimal outside length, while providing a perfect liner-to shell match. ILS SYSTEM The lacing harness integrated in the boot shell keeps the liner firmly in place, while allowing quick adjustments in combination with the Re/Lace system. (Other boot models improve integration and fit via the molded Ankle Support and adjustable Power Straps or more streamlined lacing and integration with the DLS or our Interlock System) LACES All our laces have been developed in an elaborate cooperation with one of the world’s leading manufacturers of technical ropes: Dyneema® cores provide tensile strength, while specifically woven shells guarantee abrasion resistance and durability. We constantly run tests on these lases with our in-house lab equipment and well as on the suppliers’ side to ensure extremely high quality and consistency.

TONGUE Our one-piece tongue construction avoids pressure points with an additional instep pad for extra comfort. Velcro tabs on top prevent the tongue from moving, however hard you tweak! LINER REINFORCEMENT Strategic reinforcements in the heel/calf area provide the first level of support and create an extra heel fit pocket. RE/LACE One of our latest innovations and one of the most exciting ones, the Re/Lace locker (Pat. Pend.) has revolutionized liner lacing and does away with non-functional sliding stoppers. You know the problem: In the morning, your boot fits nice and snug, but after a few runs, you might want to re-tighten a bit. The Re/Lace system allows you to do just that, but without unlacing your shell and hunting for the little locker tab. One quick pull from the outside and you’re ready to ride on!

FOOTBEDS We have teamed up with Ortholite® to custom build the 2D footbed used in the Team: two different densities of foam wrap the bottom of your foot to provide support, comfort, and thermal regulation (Other Nitro boot models feature other versions of anatomical footbeds).

BUILT FROM THE INSIDE OUT

SHELL – STRUCTURE, FLEX AND TRANSMISSION This is the part of the boot providing structure and giving the boot its performance characteristic: Supportive in certain areas, but conformable in others to make lacing and flexing easier and more natural. MATERIAL AND PANELS We use only high-quality, toxic-free materials for our boot shells and carefully assemble them using well-engineered patterns to avoid unnecessary pressure points. REINFORCEMENTS Most of our reinforcements are invisibly mounted onto the inside of the shell material. We are using a variety of high-density foams, laminated textiles, and even molded panels to achieve the intended flex pattern for each boot model. ARMORED SPINE A 3D molded heel reinforcement on the Team provides support and protection from binding abrasion and will not break down even after many seasons of riding. It also provides a solid frame around the heel for even better hold down. 3D MOLDED TONGUE The Team boot features a 3D molded tongue for powerful toe side turns and maximum ankle protection. Other boot models are using a constructed tongue for a softer, more organic feel. On the other end of the spectrum, some of our boots offer the Power Shell Tongue for additional adjustability and response. Just try them all out and pick your preference! FLEX PANELS Flexibility and effective lacing are provided by Lycra panels built into the ankle and forefoot areas of the shell. They conform to the lacing and movement of the boots, keeping a snug fit without bulging. TLS - TWIN LACING SYSTEM Easy lace engagement and release combined with the low abrasion of our Dyneema® laces are the key factors of this exceptionally reliable zonal lacing system. More importantly, the TLS features the precision of zonal lacing to ensure the best possible fit and performance for your boot. 45° LACEGLIDER This precision-molded low-friction plastic insert is positioned at the crucial 45° lacing position in the ankle area. It drastically reduces lace friction and makes tying up your TLS system even easier. LACE LOOPS They may look quite simple, but a tremendous amount of effort goes into developing and testing the webbing loops of our boots: Low abrasion is crucial, while abrasion resistance is equally important to make sure you can ride day after day without worrying about breaking loops.

TLS HANDLE GARAGES We even spend a good amount of time designing the shape and position of out TLS handle garages, so they are easy to reach, but don’t inhibit the boot flex and feel. It’s all about attention to detail here! VIBRAM® OUTSOLE MADE OF VIBRAM® ECOSTEP™ RUBBER Our soles are not only a fashion item, but functional, integral part of the boot shell. On the Team boot, you find a sole using Vibram Ecostep rubber, a special eco-friendly compound using up to 30% of recycled rubber EVA MIDSOLE The EVA midsole gives you cushioning and thermal insolation for a comfortable ride. AIRBAG Just like on our bindings, the proven airbag system provides lightweight and functional shock-absorbing technology. THERMINATOR SHIELD One more level of thermal insulation for those extra cold days on the mountain.

RE/LACE LINER LOCKER Another innovation from our friendly R&D department at Nitro: The RE/L ACE Liner Locker provides easy adjustability of your inner boot lacing when your boot shell is already tightened (tied), by just pulling up on the lace handle. This allows you to (re)tighten your liner and foothold throughout the day (wherever you may find yourself on the mountain) without having to untie your boot.

BAIL OUT SYSTEM Designed to make unlacing the TLS system even easier. This pull tab that is placed in the middle of the TLS lacing system on the outside of the boot allows for effortless unlacing and recording breaking speeds for taking your boots off.

INTERNAL ANKLE SUPPORT An anatomically shaped molded plate distributes lace pressure over the instep/ankle area: More comfort and a better, more precise fit.

BOOT TECH D3O® TECHNOLOGY D3O® is a smart material that moves slowly and increases comfort when in a normal state, but when shock or impact is increased the materials lock together to absorb and disperse energy created upon impact, before instantly returning to its flexible state. HIKE `N` RIDE CONSTRUCTION A construction specifically made for making the transition and performance between hike and ride mode easier and more beneficial for the rider (together with the forward lean adjustment and auto power strap). Hike mode offers a softer flex and ride mode is more responsive and rigid flex.

ADJUSTABLE FORWARD LEAN For adjusting the flex and response of the boot for riding mode (stiffer) or hike mode (looser).

AUTO-POWER STRAP An adjustable power strap located on the top part of the boot shell, that can be easily adjusted, opened and closed through a simple belt ring design. DUAL ZONE BOA® FIT SYSTEM The dual top and bottom zonal adjustability is ensured by the BOA® Fit System. The bottom section is activated via the BOA® dial on the side of the boot and the top section from the BOA® dial on the tongue of the boot. TLS TWIN LACING SYSTEM Nitro leading the pack with the TLS lacing system: Easy lace engagement and release, combined with the low abrasion of our Dyneema® laces are the key factors of this highly reliable zonal lacing system. At the same time, the TLS features compact size and low weight while maintaining the reliability proven by tens of thousands of days on the mountain. VIBRAM® OUTSOLE MADE OF VIBRAM® ECOSTEP™ COMPOUND Vibram grip and traction and an Eco-friendly approach: here is the new sole of NITRO …. made of Vibram® ECOSTEP™ Compound, an eco-friendly recycled rubber compound developed by Vibram® and made up to 50% of recycled rubber. The rubber scrap generated by Vibram’s production process is recycled in order to produce Vibram® Ecostep compound. It’s a High-quality compound formulation, which offers a very good Vibram grip and traction on snow while preserving the environment through the waste reduction.

RUBBER OUTSOLE A highly effective traction pattern, combined with an abrasion-resistant high-grip rubber compound provides additional sole durability and a perfect grip, no matter if you‘re hiking up the park or down the stairs to the bathroom.

EVA OUTSOLE To reduce weight, even more, we are using full EVA outsoles on selected models. While keeping weight low, the EVA also provides great impact absorption and thermal insulation.

EVA MIDSOLE Used on all boots with rubber outsoles, the EVA midsole reduces the overall weight and provides cushioning and thermal insulation.

RUBBER IMPACT PANELS Selected EVA outsoles are reinforced with strategically placed rubber reinforcements for added resistance, traction, and durability.

eFoam® - LONG LASTING MATERIALS, LONG LASTING FUTURE. In cooperation with Lorenzi, an Italian partner, Nitro decided to use E-foam. E-foam is an innovatice material, very light yet, at the same time, extremely resistant to abrasion. It has been conceived as an ecologic alternative to rubber and PVC, it grants a better protection for the foot and it extends the life of the boot. E-foam has eccelent machanical strenght characteristics while manteining high elasticity. In addition to lightness, this can be translated into extreme walking comfort. Even in the most severe climatic condition, e-foam mantains all phisical properties unalterated, does not age and lasts over time. Repeated use of each product is the first form of enviromental respect.

THERMINATOR SHIELD This thermal layer between sole and liner will reflect your body heat and keep your feet warm all day.

MOLDED TOE CAP Precision-molded to fit our last perfectly, our molded toe cap provides more toe space and protection from toe straps worn over the tip.

ILS (Internal Lacing System) Our ILS system features a lacing harness firmly connected to the boot shell. This harness snugly wraps around the liner, securing it in the shell and providing precise lacing and fit. Our engineered ILS laces provide less friction and a Dyneema® core for added strength.

DLS (Direct Lacing System) Directly connected to the liner, the DLS also features Dyneema® loaded low-friction laces on selected models for ultimate fit and comfort. (it’s on all models now).

SPINE PROTECTION (CLUB AND CYPRESS BOA® MODELS, INCLINE AND SKYLAB) A flexible molded spine made of a TPR compound that is softer to allow for an even pressured lace closure, while providing medium flex and durability to the shape and spine of the boot.

POWER TONGUE STIFFENER For those looking for adjustable stiffness throughout the day or season, you can use our removable tongue stiffener to change between premium precision or more of a relaxed feel. From the steep and deep to the groomers, you can customize your boot feel perfect for your style.

Ortholite® Footbeds Together with OrthoLite®, the World’s Leading Supplier of Open-Cell Foam Insole Technology, we have developed footbeds in dual and triple density versions for different levels of support and comfort: OrthoLite® compresses less than 5% with excellent levels of shock absorption and energy return. Fit and comfort inside the boot will remain consistent for the life of the OrthoLite® product.

OrthoLite® contains a patented anti-microbial formulation to fight fungus, bacteria, and odor. The biocide is added during formulation so that it is linked to the foam and will not wear off or lose effectiveness over time. The Aegis anti-microbial treatment is EPA and FDA approved. OrthoLite® is extremely lightweight providing optimum performance and without adding excess weight to the boot. OrthoLite® is completely washable and will not hydrolyze. Just throw them in your washing machine and they come out like new.

OrthoLite® Lazy Recovery Foam OrthoLite® Lazy Recovery Foam conforms to the foot creating a comfortable, custom fit. When you remove your foot from the boot, the Lazy foam instantly rebounds to its original shape.
