Dear Skier, Looking over the collection, year over year it becomes evident that our design philosophy, and the inherited proprietary technology that gets handed down from each generation of skis to the next, all seemingly contribute to what sets a 4FRNT ski apart from anyone elses. We built upon the release of The Devastator and Aretha in 2013 to engineer the Reflect TechTM shape one step further into a ski touring specific model known only by the moniker: "The Raven." Further to the point of synergy in our collection we added to the identity series a Titanal constructed powerhouse called the “Gaucho. From our inception and creation in 2002 to now, we make it our mission to lead the industry in innovation through collaboration with our athletes. This passion and spark for collaboration still guides us today in welcoming Kye Petersen to the 4FRNT family. It is our pact as a group of passionate individuals to build for you the most dynamic, diverse and authentic products so you too can share in the joy and excitement that flows through the brand we proudly call our own. Tips up, Matt Sterbenz Founder

David Wise
Eric began skiing on a course to become a Banff-bred racing phenom. However, he wasn’t heavy enough to maintain competitive speed through the flats. Under the wing of Banff area big mountain mentors and Norquay’s terrain park, Eric said farewell to racing and began his pursuit to carve a new path against the grain from those who came before him in his region. Eric went on to garner global recognition for big mountain skiing through film segments with Matchstick Productions and Sherpas Cinema, coupled with a relentless pursuit to improve Freeride Touring product design. Eric continues this pursuit today. Eric “Hoji” Hjorleifson personifies professional in every definition of the word.
Even during his ski camp years Wiley just showed up and stood out. He returned year after year more refined and determined to take his humble Red Lodge, MT beginnings to the professional level. He began his skiing career at 4FRNT a determined, young adult buying skis from us on pro-form while he was still in school. He’s obtained his own signature ski, the YLE, and worldwide recognition as one of backcountry freestyle’s finest. Wiley’s massive yet effortless style keeps him in focus for Level 1 Cinematographers and industry-leading photographers.
When the Sherpas Cinema released, All.I.Can, in 2011 the film quickly earned the moniker, “All.Kye.Can,” due to his mind melting composure of freestyle trickery amidst consequential, steep, big mountain skiing. Kye’s family tree boasts a legendary ski family and they nurtured him in the spirit of his family’s Whistler heritage and friendship. Kye’s tender 23 years belies his seasoned experience as a professional, sponsored athlete: He earned his first sponsorship at 11. Legitmately, Kye knows only skiing for employment and he reports for work daily, crushing inbound laps in Whistler Blackcomb. Kye’s other duties include exploring the deepest and steepest aspects of the Garibaldi National Park and the surrounding coastal and interior British Columbia mountain ranges.
David grew up at a resort known mostly for its proximity to Reno and certainly not its halfpipe. Dave comes from a ski family where you take what you can get, when you can get it. Amidst all this David saw the pipe as his domain and became the first skier to land a double cork with 1260 degrees of rotation during competition. He has gone on to win multiple X Games, Dew Tours, and FIS Championships. His accomplishments come in spite of injury setbacks. Above all of this David emerged tempered with a seasoned mindset about what opportunity means and currently holds the title of “most winning halfpipe skier” in the young sport’s history. David works harder, and achieves more balance in his life than anyone else in the game.
As it was written in our business plan in 2002, as it remains today, our products are only as good as those we have using and endorsing them. Our team is the driving force behind all we do at 4FRNT. We believe the root structure of our team is built on collaboration and authenticity. Each Pro athlete on our 2014/15 roster embody these defined characteristics as they each possess equity in return for their commitment to working through conception, creation, execution and annual production of their own signature ski. We believe the future of ski design lies in the hands of those contributing to skiing’s progression. Each member of our team represents a unique approach to skiing just like our customers.

The beauty of chemistry is you take a bunch of simple elements, and depending on the ratios and the process, you can create amazing things. That’s what we do at 4FRNT. Simple, quality components and proven designs that are combined in ways to make revolutionary skis.
REFLECT TECHTM This technology was dreamed up by the mind of Eric Hjorleifson as a way to make rocker and side-cut work together. In the past, full rocker profiles would have a negative impact on the ability of the ski to edge consistently, and would cause the tips to hook and the tails to wash out while the ski was on edge. With Reflect TechTM, the rocker radius and the side-cut radius are matched, to allow the ski to edge smoothly, and create predictable carving in all conditions. It virtually eliminates tip hook, as the ski will engage smoothly along the length of the ski, while still giving you the float and pivotability of a fully rockered ski. You can find Reflect TechTM in the Raven, Renegade, HOJI, Devastator and Aretha.
CONTOUR CORETM Our women’s skis have shapes similar to our men’s line, but they are set apart with our women’s specific Contour CoreTM construction. While men drive the ski from their chest, women tend to ski from their hips, which generates forces down through their heels. With our women’s cores, we’ve moved the weight of the core rearwards (5cm) to accommodate this more centered skiing style. This lets women drive the true center of the core weight instead of constantly fighting from behind, while still being centered over the side cut. You can find Contour CoreTM in the Aretha, Madonna, Hoji W and Blondie.
SKI CATEGORY When you’re looking for a one-ski-quiver, look no further than our all-mountain skis. Take the park into the backcountry with these skis designed for maximum stompage.
Skis with the same dimensions in the tip and the tail, along with a near centered mounting point. A directional shape gives the ski a more consistent feel.
DIMENSIONS
These skis take you away to that special place. POW.
Determines the length of the ski in centimeters along its base from end to end.
Spin, flip and slide your way to glory with our skis designed for the park and pipe.
This measures the width of the tip of the ski at its widest point
These skis will get you down the steepest, tightest and most exposed lines out there.
This measures the width at midsole of the skis' narrowest point.
When the deep gets deeper, you want a ski with the float you need.
This measures the width of the tail at its widest point.
When the nooks and crannies found through out the resort become your favorite feature.
Weight shows how heavy a single ski weighs in kilograms and pounds.
A U shaped feature that commonly skis like ice for those brave and confident in themself and their equipment.
CAMBER
The act of man conquering mountains without the use of machines.
GEOMETRY This measures the amount of sidecut the ski has in radial meters. The Effective Edge is the length of running surface along the base.
An upturned radius in the tips and tails lets the ski float . conditions through powder and off-trail A lengthened tip shape where the rocker meets camber and the sidecut starts. A traditional ski shape that gives the ski maximum performance in groomed conditions. A full radius along the length of the ski gives the ski maximum float, and nimble turning.
CONSTRUCTION
SHAPES The neutral sidecut length at the tip and tails' widest dimension. The two contact points of the ski are at the tips and tails. The tail of the ski is also upturned to allow for switch skiing and landings.
The wood core is inserted into a fiberglass sleeve for a lightweight, durable construction. Semi-cap partially wraps the topsheet around the sidewall for additional durability. Inherited construction technique from central Norway, this sidewall-less design provides superb energy transmission to the edge.
SIA RECYCLING PROGRAM MEMBER This program collects old ski gear such as skis, boots, poles and various other equipment and grinds up the material for repurposing. The White Room contributes all of its fiberglass and wood scrap from cutting the skis out once they come off the press through finishing.

DEEP POWDER Artist: Paul Yih
An entire team of ski-techs, engineers, and woodworkers go back to the drawing board every year with Eric Hjorleifson to maintain the evolution of this deep powder rebel ski. Everything from the Reflect TechTM design (full rocker with matching sidecut radius) to the business and manufacturing models rebel against the status quo in the ski industry. The design and stiff flex will effortlessly turn without tip or tail hook. Among all the inner developments that go into making this ski unique for 2014, a notable change over 2013 is the tail block insert to support the skis when used as walking sticks. BIG MOUNTAIN Artist: Devin Soisson
Welcome to Eric Hjorleifson's "go-to" signature ski. Inspired by the success of the matching sidecut and rocker radii, or Reflect TechTM, that the Renegade employs, Eric went back to the drawing board. The squashed pintail sinks into the snow allowing a more forward mounting position, and centered and balanced feel. The nimble and responsive HOJI produces a powder skiing sensation unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Powerful enough to charge spines in AK and light enough for you to have the fire stoked at the yurt before your friends get there. WOMENS BIG MOUNTAIN Artist: Devin Soisson We would've felt optimistic, to say the least, properly forecasting the demand for the HOJI. Based on that demand, we created the HOJI W. We found that women were purchasing and loving the HOJI in a 179 cm length and we couldn't keep it in stock. We designed the HOJI W specifically for women with a more forgiving flex for lighter frames, and contour core to match the natural geometry of a woman's center of gravity and added a 171 cm size to round out the series. Plenty of ladies these days ski big mountain terrain and now they have a legitimate choice to ski big lines. BACKCOUNTRY FREESTYLE Artist: Max Neutra
Wiley Miller, the X Games Readers Poll Real Ski Backcountry winner, brings you his signature ski. The YLE excels in soft snow and in the air, the stiff flex profile and wide body provide an incredibly stable foundation, especially when landing switch off of a booter in the Montana backcountry. Low swing weight and a near center mount keep you exactly where you want to be once you’re in the air and the twin tip profile rides just as nicely switch as it does with the tips pointed downhill. Whether its first turns or frozen hands, the grom is right there when the kids learn to ski. Cap construction stands up to being thrown in the back of the car and dropped in the parking lot while the shape makes learning edge to edge turns a breeze all over the mountain.
