First off, thanks for taking the time to browse our new product line and to read my personal notes on this page. Our current video – 28 Winters – makes a strong statement about the state of snowboarding and is the result of a wild ride: From the missionary days of the late 80’s, through the hype of the 90’s, the consolidation of the new millennium, all the way to the current phase of our sport, we have always enjoyed riding and have not lost sight of the main reason we’re doing this: to have fun. Of course, winters are unstable, economies unpredictable and too many people get sidetracked and kill their free time with electronic gadgets. But there’s always a patch of snow, a kicker, a rail, or even a small powder field one can find to go out and have fun in the snow. We all have our opinions about snowboarding and its future, but I’m not worried. I see young kids that are stoked on riding, parents that are getting (back) into it, young adults hitting the parks and even seniors that are making their turns, untouched by the trends and fashions we all think we need to follow. They’re all snowboarders and all we need to do is to get out there, join them - and have fun! Have a great winter,

RUN TO THE HILLS Snowboarding has always been about friends and communities sharing the same passion. „Run to the Hills“ has become more than just a claim for us the last year, because we feel that snowboarding has been losing places for the community to come together, as the industry invested more into conversion rates and direct sales strategies rather than into the sport itself. We as Nitro decided that we want to take a different approach by focusing on the snowboard communities. Every dollar we spend will go towards snowboarding, either for the team riders, or new projects and events that allow people to engage and motivate them to go snowboarding. Every event will be different, but the concept is the same - bringing snowboarders together to ride, chill, hangout and strengthen the community. The snowboard market has changed quite a bit over the past years, but we feel that snowboarders haven’t changed. The bottom line is they still want to have a good time with their buddies on the hill, and snowboarding will always be about people and relationships and that´s the reason why we love it! Nitro has probably one of the strongest and most diverse teams out there and we will continue to support them as best we can. They are also an inspiration to us and help us to built better products. This current season we will follow our „Run to the Hills“ campaign and host multiple events every weekend globally. Besides being present on the mountain we want to continue programs for kids and families. We have already invested a lot the past years into events that help kids learn how to snowboard and socialize with other snowboarders for free. We will continue to engage the parents more and more at these events to get them back on board as well. The season 17/18 will be about on hill events, creating communities, team trips, adventures and families. You can be sure that with every product you buy from us the money will be reinvested into snowboarding. Andi Aurhammer Head of Marketing
TOGETHER WE STAND It is very interesting and so much fun to work with so many different people from so many different cultures all over the world. We have more than 30 distributors in 30 countries. We are very proud of the long term relationships with our distributors. Sepp Ardelt, the Co-Founder of Nitro Snowboards has built incredible relationships with these people and always knew how to convince and motivate them. There are a lot of changes in sales and everything is going faster then ever. Many other brands live and die by corporate strategies. I am Swiss and I know that even in this small country you have to think outside the corporate box to succeed, because even here there are four different languages and cultures and it is the same way all over the world. Our strength is for sure that we have the right people in every country, a flexible organization, and a close relationship to our retailers and consumers to understand their needs. This is how we can create products that actually make a real difference for our consumers. At this point I also want to say thank you very much to all of our distributors and retailers. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary the definition of carving is; “the act or art of one who carves”. We believe that everyone who snowboards enjoys the simple pleasures of linking turns - carving is just the next level. There is something so simple, yet so enjoyable about holding a toe side carve and than linking a deep heel side carve on a groomed run. We have decided to make a new product series dedicated to making carving more enjoyable, and allowing everyone to become a part of the Carver Crüe. The Carver Crüe is a collection of boards, boots, and bindings that will help you get your hands to the ground on both toe and heel -side turns like a pro. The boards have a deeper and more carver friendly sidecut, the boots have a more responsive flex, and the bindings have either a heel rise and/or more responsive straps, allowing you to really rail your turns from the peak to parking lot.

Overlaying a tighter sidecut radius in the center of the board with a larger one towards tip and tail is creating our exclusive POWERPODS which have two amazing effects: Our POWERPODS make the board super reactive and fast turning once it’s put on edge – while keeping it easy to control if ridden with less dynamics.
Your secret weapon for rails, rocks and longevity! With it´s unique edge profile and an impact resistance of more than 200% compared to a standard edge - the Railkiller Edge is twice as thick and twice as strong. This proprietary construction can take on any rail challenge. Take a file to them or ride them hard and wear them down naturally, this chunk of steel has enough meat for years of abuse.
KevlarŠ is used in bulletproof vests and body armor to protect your core. We use it in strategic places around the binding-to-board interface to protect the construction from impacts during hard landings.
The latest in core technology, utilizing co-extruded miniature tubes, vertically aligned and welded, with unique energy absorption properties, KoroydTM is approximately 70% lighter than standard balsa wood, with no loss in strength or flex. This engineered core is utilized in the tip and tail of the new HIGHLANDER model for reduced swing mass and overall weight.

Simplicity and purpose are what create the ultimate mountain experience. The 6th season of the Nitro Quiver series offers more shapes and more purpose with new models: Furry, Fusion, and Hazard. Tommy Delago, founder of Nitro snowboards teamed up with Bryan Fox & Austin Smith, once again to shake things up - They decided to create a quiver series with different shapes, purpose, and ride, but they all tie together with a simple graphic concept created by Bryan Fox and purpose. That purpose is to provide a more fun and exciting ride during a powder day or any other day than your standard all-mountain or freestyle board.

When conventional buckles go from loose to end in just one click, MICRO DRIVE buckles with their half incremental adjustment will get you the extra click you need and the fine adjustment you wish.
AIR DAMPENING The lightest shock absorbing technology on the planet sucks up hard landings and keeps your heels from getting bruised. This noticeable difference in ride and comfort does not sacrifice any response and control.
ULTRA GRIP TOE STRAP by Vibram® Co-developed with VIBRAM®, known for their high performance rubber outsoles, we designed a toe strap that combines the shape and feel of our B.E.S.T. Convertible toe strap concept with the sticky Xstrek rubber from VIBRAM®. The strap adapts to any boots toe box shape while the rubber keeps the strap in place, no matter how hard you stomp your landing, whether it’s wet or freezing.
Evolution at its peak! Smaller foot print and less impact on the boards natural flex, Nitro’s mini disk sets the standard in disk functionality. The new snap feature lets you choose and lock in your binding angle before you mount your bindings - set it once, never lose it again!

BOARD TECH CAMBER LINES In today’s world there are so many different names, classifications, and marketing schemes out there that are used to hype up the camber design, most of them don´t even function in a way that will help people become better snowboarders. We have decided to cut the crap and keep snowboarding simple by simplifying our camber names and technologies to only those that work, and that are approved by our regional and global team riders, and friends. That is why we have chosen to offer the four camber profiles that really work, and we are not overcomplicating things by micro-slicing and renaming them – Even though all of our camber profiles are adjusted to match the type of person or terrain the boards are designed for, but TRUE camber is camber, Gullwing is Gullwing, Flat-Out is Flat-Out, and Cam-Out is Cam-Out. Real camber technology that works, and does not need a marketing scheme to prove it.

TRÜE CAMBER is good old standard camber, which provides the stability, and pop many shreds can´t live without. The amount of snap and support you get from a cambered board is unrivalled by any other camber design. Our TRÜE CAMBER varies between board models because each board is specifically designed for a certain terrain or type of riding, for example the TRÜE CAMBER in our Pantera has a larger height for maximum response, while the TRÜE CAMBER in our freestyle boards are lower to provide you with a more freestyle friendly flex, without losing the support and trust you need for stomping landings. We at Nitro have pioneered most of today’s common sidecut geometries and have access to over 25 years of experience of fine-tuning each individual board model. Therefore, we have also simplified the tech jungle for you. You can get a first taste of what the shapes will feel like, but you can leave it up to our engineers to make each board just right for you!
PROGRESSIVE SIDECUT A larger radius in the front, blended into a tighter one towards the tail: The progressive sidecut makes accelerating out of turns a breeze, while maintaining a catch-free nose area.

A Nitro original invention: already 25 years ago, we figured out that the body‘s ability to lean into a turn is different between toe- and heelside. So we designed the Asymmetrical Twin, a board that has a deeper heelside sidecut to compensate for the human body‘s inability to bend the knees in both ways :-). The Fury model is a modern interpretation in shape, construction and flex of the two asymmetrical twin boards offered back in the day.
PROGRESSIVE WIDTH The progressive width is an exclusive feature on the Suprateam, Cinema, and SHtik. Starting out with a medium width profile at the smallest size, these boards get progressively wider as they go up in size, ensuring an ideal board-to-boot match and a perfectly balanced board for riders of every size.

LAZY RECOVERY FOAM OrthoLite® Lazy Recovery Foam conforms to the foot creating a comfortable, custom fit. When you remove your foot from the boot, the Lazy foam instantly rebounds to its original shape.
RE/LACE LINER LOCKER Another innovation from your friendly R&D department at Nitro: The new RE/LACE Liner Locker provides easy adjustability of your inner boot lacing when your boot shell is already tightened (tied), by just pulling up on the lace handle. This allows you to (re)tighten your liner and foothold throughout the day (wherever you may find yourself on the mountain) without having to untie you boot.

ORTHOLITE FOOTBEDS Together with OrthoLite®, the World’s Leading Supplier of Open-Cell Foam Insole Technology, we have developed new footbeds in dual and triple density versions for different levels of support and comfort: OrthoLite® compresses less than 5% with excellent levels of shock absorption and energy return. Fit and comfort inside the boot will remain consistent for the life of the OrthoLite® product. The unique open cell structure of OrthoLite® also creates a moisture management system inside the boot by moving moisture away from the foot leaving your feet drier. When the foot is removed from the shoe any remaining moisture dries very quickly due to the airflow allowed by the open cell network in the foam. OrthoLite® contains a patented anti-microbial formulation to fight fungus, bacteria, and odor. The biocide is added during formulation so that it is linked to the foam and will not wear off or lose effectiveness over time. The Aegis anti-microbial treatment is EPA and FDA approved. OrthoLite® is extremely lightweight providing optimum performance and without adding excess weight to the boot. OrthoLite® is completely washable and will not hydrolysize. Just throw them in your washing machine and they come out like new. DLS (DIRECT LACING SYSTEM) Directly connected to the liner, the DLS also features Dyneema® loaded low-friction laces on selected models for ultimate fit and comfort.
INTERLOCK SYSTEM Developed to help keep the liner heel in one place and eliminate any kind of heel slippage or lifting.
