From contrast to becoming ONE
Typology Central Court Yard The spactial arrangment of traditional chinese court yard housing (si he yuan) is adopted to allow central activty area, as well as inviting natural light and nature into the interior. A pitched roof is introduced to remind asian architectural typology. By reducing the ornate details of the roof line, the architectural form appears to be more contemporary and fitting to its surrounding. Central Court Yard
Instersecting Planes The programs could be distributed according to its level of connectivity between them. Common areas are overlaps between two planes/space to increase spatial efficiency. Interestign voids can be created by intersecting planes.

Materiality of facades are maniputated to magnify the idea of contrasts and infusion. Opaque/translucent, hard/soft, wide/narrow elements are translated into planes to allow spactial and material contrast.
