The purpose of my magazine is to not only showcase my work but it is also meant to serve as a platform for upcoming talents. So in other words if you are musician, singer, dancer, or model this magazine will give you a chance to showoff those skills. I aim to capture the personality of the person, which is important because you want people to see you for who you are, and not for what your appearance may be.

What story am I telling?
When I take a picture of someone I usually like to take the subject outdoors. The reason for this is that I like to create a sense of motion. Using the wind as an added element creates natural movement for the hair. I like creating a sequence as if it were a movie. The image above was captured in a studio with a white backdrop. The goal was to create a sense of isolation, yet the person was aware of me taking the picture. We all have our vulnerable moments when we get undressed. The way she embraces herself shows an emotional ownership. It tells me “this is my body and I’m not ready for you to see it.” Isolation is a powerful visual element to incoporated into a photograph.
What is the main source of light?
I used two lights. One was hair light which also acted as fill light. The key light was a beauty dish.
How will the eye travel through this image?
The eyes will go from bottom to time. I’ve created sort of an S curve which makes you want to follow from her waist up.
