Welcome to the 2012 edition of my annual e-catalogue, where I gather together all the commissions and projects I have worked on over the past year to showcase everything that I am most proud of. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;d like to thank everyone who has played a part in my being able to bring this new annual collection together for you - the planners and stylists, the photographers, the florists, the venues, the models and my fans... but most importantly, my clients, for without them, I would have no work to bring you this year! I am incredibly lucky that I get to do what I love, every single day, and not only that, but I get to work with other people who love what they do just as much as me, and for that Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m very grateful. Homestead Wedding Sometimes, an opportunity comes along to participate in something that is such a great idea that to say no would be, well, crazy.

My friend

Virginia of The Bouquets of Ascha Jolie wanted to create a country wedding, Aussie Style, and when she told me about her idea I was really keen to get involved.

The location was amazing - a private

homestead in regional Vic that was spared by the Black Saturday fire disaster by only the slimmest of margins - and the other vendors were as keen as

me to see this brought to life. Well, project day rolled around, and it was cold, and it was wet, and it was windy - everything you need to create a summer wedding, not! The model was such a trooper, keeping warm in between shots by snuggling into a woollen blanket, but for the rest of us, it was “Carry On” (as fast as possible!) I love the results though - it shows that you can create something really lovely and memorable for an ‘at home’ wedding without spending a small (or large) fortune... thank you Virginia for asking me to be a part of this special project!

A few years ago, a photographer by the name of Stewart Leishman contacted me to enquire about taking some photos of my cakes for his website... the images Stewart took that day were hosted on websites and blogs around the world. After that, our paths crossed at weddings around the City, and recently Stewart contacted me again to see if Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;d like to be part of an inspiration shoot he was doing on our peninsula... knowing what I do about his capacity to take amazing photos, I jumped at the chance (how could I not?)... and I think youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll agree, the results are just gorgeous.

Created for an event by Styled By Belle {www.styledbybelle.com.au}, this birthday cake and cupcakes were inspired by the backdrop that Belinda designed to go behind the dessert table. The piping on the cake was done by hand, then over-painted with gold lustre. The flowers on the cake were created using a large peony leaf cutter and a standard blossom cutter, with a gold lustre magnolia-style centre stamen.

In July I had the pleasure of being tasked with creating desserts and a wedding cake for a photo shoot collaboration between Styled by Belle and The Wedding Birds. The Theme? Snow White and The Huntsman, inspired by the hugely successful movie. Keeping everything ethereal in white and gold, with the richness of grassy fields as a setting, the end result was amazing. The cake is a 3 tiered confection featuring broderie anglaise sugar panels and lots of gold glitter. Desserts included meringues,, cupcakes, marshmallows and glittery sugar cookies. This year, I was determined to create Christmas treats that I would want to have for myself, so I set out to create my favourite Christmas icon (the snowman) in my favourite colours - white, pink, raspberry and silver - and wearing my favourite accessory - glitter!

Even though Christmas is the most celebrated and traditional day on our calendar, as Aussies we tend to go out of our way to celebrate our traditions in a way that reflects who we are... Seafood enjoyed in the backyard is just as acceptable as a turkey with all the trimmings - and we are just as

liberal with our desserts - pavlova is just as welcome as pudding with custard - or, in this year’s case - cake pops, cupcakes, meringues, cookies, rocky road and marshmallows are just as yummy and satisfying as those more traditional and “expected” desserts.

The proof was literally in the pudding, with hundreds of snowgirl cake pops marching out the door, along with dozens of rocky road cakes, and enough fingers of vintage mallow to keep a glove factory very happy!

In July I had the pleasure of working with Sophie of Avie & Lulu to create the desserts for her daughterâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Christmas In July birthday celebration.
