Agesander of Rhodes The Agesdander of Rohdes is an unknown artist. We don’t know if its just one person or a multiple of people name the ‘Agesander of Rhodes’. There work were created in the late Hellenistic period where a new born of sculpture were created. There work are really realistic like a palinting to be able to give these type of movements. The way they can a line these sculptures to create a story shows the creative they are able to handle as a team and make the human form so realistic. The sculpture they have create are Scylla and Polyphemus. The sculpture I’m looking closely named ‘Lacocoon and his son’. I will be focusing on the twisting within the sculpture and understand the movement that links within the story. The ‘scylla group’

Sperlonga sculptures

Laocoon and his sons c.175-50 BC Marble

Laocoon is a Trojan priest of the God Apollo and who he offended by telling the people of Tory not to expect the gift from the Greeks of a wooden horse. He threw a spear into the horse to check, but nothing was found. He served a punishment of being blind by Athena, plus an extra punishment from Poseidon, which he has sent two serpents to kill him and his sons.

From the sculpture, you can highlight a story from this one sculpture. This seems to be like a frozen image right before the attack is about to happen to Laocoon. You could see and feel the emotion of them being worried and trying with there strength to fight off the snake off them. The way you see the figure face is that none of them are engaging the viewer, the son is looking at there father with worry and finding a way to help. Laocoon facial expression shows a high range of emotion that does show of fear and maybe preparing for the agony pain he has to endure. The three figure are bound together, which does show the drama to the narrative.

This sculpture is built in the Hellenistic period, which is the period from the death of Alexander the Great in 323 b.c. to the middle of the first-century b.c. It was marked by the Greek and Macedonian emigration to areas conquered by Alexander and by the spread of Greek civilization from Greece to northern India. The feature of the figure body showing their muscles and broad bodies. Also, you can see the smoothness of their skin and how realistic they could be. The detail of there hair is showing the expectations of a real-life human being and shows clear expression of there faces and body.

You could see that this sculpture show Laocoon has a open pose from the way he stretches out his arm and the way his body twists to get away the snake bite. The snake is twisting around the three figure bounding them together, which does add intense drama to the narrative. This does make them feel powerless towards the snake, since they aren’t able to break free and help on another from being attack from the snake. The technique the Rhodas used for to do for there features and the material show twisting within these small details. They show twisting through Laocoon hair and beard showing rich details of the figure to make them realistic. The draping of the fabric shows twisting from wrapping around the oldest son shoulder and dangling onto the floor showing this frozen image. With further research I was able to find a sculpture that could inspire by the torso. You could see that the oldest son has a similar torso as this sculpture. The way it shows movement of the torso crunching like this it shows any possible movement that could take place like this torso maybe rest his hand on his head as if he’s tired or he could be holding something heavy on one arm. This torso is able to inspire many people to create different style of movement within just a torso.

Donatello was the most imaginative and versatile Florentine sculptor of the early Renaissance. From many inspiration for his work comes from the studies he took on Ancient Sculpture. Donatello worked on manly on renaissance style on his sculpture. The sculpture that he has created is; Equestrian statue of Gattamelata, Zuccone and The Feast of Herod. The works I am focusing on are involved with the twisting movement, that is David and Penitent Magdalene. The height of David is 158cm, which is near to an average human height.

Donatello ,David c. 1430 Bronze The story between David and Goliath is there was a bunch of army from Mulan coming to attack Florence. Goliath was representing Mulan as a large wealthy country and David is Florence a small country. The biblical story of David is that Goliath wanted to meet the Israelites best warrior in a man to man combat to decide the whole battle. None of Israel more soldier was brave enough to fight Goliath until David (a shepherd boy who is too young to be a soldier) accepts the challenge. David was offered weapon and Armor, but he refused them since he wasn’t trained. Instead, he went out with his sling and confront the enemy. He hit Goliath on the head with the stone, which knocked him off and took his sword and took off his head. The Philistines withdraw as agreed and the Israelites are saved.

This image shows a young David of when he beheads Goliath, which earned him the title of being a heroic person for Israel. The way Donatello has portrayed David in this sculpture is him being confident while standing tall nude, which could show us his bravery.

Looking close to David left hand you could see the stone that he uses to knock down Goliath. David rest his left arm on his hip making it seem as if it was an easy job, showing how he was able to win over Goliath. On his right hand is a sword he used to cut off Goliath showing no mercy and it seems to show a warning to their enemies.

The details that are put into Goliath helmet shows the small details to make it historic. If look closely at David right leg it does show a feather detail that rests on his right leg. You can see the amount of work that has been put from the knowledge of David and Goliath.

The bronze material makes the sculpture shines and highlight the sculpture to make him muscular and it shows his tone body and the smoothness of his body.

The way David is standing is freestanding, which means that nothing is holding it up from the background. The way he is standing shows a twisting from his hips and going down to his knees. This makes the sculpture seem like he is about to move into a different position or moving into this position. This pose seems natural and does capture the light and high light to make a natural tone and strength of his body. His hand seems to be twisting when he places the sword of the tip onto the ground like he is standing his ground and showing he has finished the battle.

This sculpture seems to be similar to the first sculpture of David that was created by Donatello, which is made out of marble and he is fully clothed. The position of the marble and bronzed sculpture are very identical, but the bronze sculpture is more in detail of telling us a story about David. It shows the sword, stone and Goliath head, showing use his story in one sculpture. With the marble David, he is showing the same contrapposto pose. However, they are both very different from the looks, material and how they pose. David in marble is fully clothed and the bronze is nude; David in marble looks older than the Bronzer sculpture; one has a hat the other doesn’t. David in bronzer has one foot on Goliath's head and the other David doesn’t. The Bronzer David shows more power and strength and showing a variety of youthfulness. Whereas, David in Marble seems very dull and weak and doesn’t seem to have a movement. Donatello work has been inspired by Greek sculpture since they have been buried under ground until the early renaissance they have been brought back, which brought back sculpture in the early renaissance that gave bigger ideas of art throughout history. The Greek sculpture being found gave Artist like Donatello to try this new art form.

Botticelli The Birth of Venus 1482-1485 Tempera Venus is one most used characters to chose throughout art history from Ancient Greek and through the renaissance period. Venus is part of an Ancient Greek Goddess of love, sex, beauty, and fertility. She was seen as a mother to the Roman and a leading role for the female. Artist would use hint to identify Venus through roses, her long hair and a little bump meaning as being able to give children. The painting is showing Venus arriving at the shore after her birth when she had emerged from the sea fully- grown, which is caked Venus Anadyomene.

This painting is a mythological painting created by the artist name Sandro Botticelli. We see his artwork speaks with passion and highlight the history of the birth of Venus. The Greek aspects of the love and beauty goddess Aphrodite were added to the Roman Goddess: Love, Beauty, Fertility, Good Fortune. Venus is standing in the middle, nude from top to bottom, on a shell that seems to like her boat. The way her hand is position is similar to the sculpture created in the ancient Roman time, which gave him the inspiration for creating a colour version of the birth of Venus. The face of Venus is Simonetta Vespucci the model of this painting. Who happened to be the face of this beautiful artwork, which she a face from many different artists who admired her beauty.

The way Botticelli put Venus at the center makes our attention being engaged to her and afterward focus our eye left, right, background and foreground. We see the figures surrounding her from either side to make us see a story being portrayed in this art pieces. The way her hair is so bright brings out her skin and being able to stand out. Her hair is so long and wrapping around part of her body does direct our eye to her body and gaze at her beauty.

On the left side of the painting, you would see two people one who’s is Aura the god of breeze and Zephyr the god of the wind. They both embrace each other, while they blow venus toward the shore of Cythera. On the right side, you can see a woman who has similar features as Venus. The long auburn hair and pale skin. This lady is the called Hora the goddess of spring, who seems to be offering Venus a cloth as she is blown ashore. With the Goddess, you are able to notice that they all look similar to their feature as if Botticelli is thinking that the way venus looks like they all may have the same features as her.

The horizontal golden ratio line from the top to the bottom crosses exactly at the top of the seashell. The horizontal golden ratio line crosses from the bottom to the top. At the horizon line, most perfectly on the left side of the painting and directly through Venus' navel. The vertical golden ratio line from the left side then the side falls exactly at the point, which Horas thumb and finger are touching, as though she is grasping the Golden Ratio proportion embodied in the painting, perhaps even reaching for something Divine.

The way the wind blows to Venus from Aura you could see the different type of twisting happening on Hora. You can see that her hair is twisting around while the wind blows around her hair to show a movement within the image. Also, Venus' hair seems to be twisting around like Hora from the wind, but she also uses it to cover her raw skin. The hair wraps around her while she grabbing to cover the bottom part of her body. Venus pose is being held shows a slight twist being formed as she stands. Her hip seems to twist out as she slight hides her body and her legs shows movement like she about to leave the shell. The material in the painting seems to have some twisting within the painting. The fabric of Aura shows a twisting while the fabric is wrapping around his body and arm as he flies over to Venus and blow her away in her shell. Whereas, Hora fabric is being twisted while she is holding out this fabric to cover up Venus. This shows a form of twisting while she holds it up, which create this twist while it dances around from the blowing wind. .

These sculptures are created in the Ancient Greek time around the 1st or 3rd century of BC time. The sculpture in the left is called Capitoline Venus and the right is called Venus de’ Medici. Both of the sculpture is showing similar pose and hand and head position are similar. However, they are different from style, material, and facial structure. These sculpture could inspire and give Botticelli a vision of what he wanted Venus to stand like. On the other Venus from the painting is staring out at the view catching attention and the sculpture are turning there head away from the viewer as is she look at something.

Diana and Actaeon are one of the six large mythologies that titan produced for King Phillip II of Spain. The other paintings that King Phillip II has got from Titian are Venus and Adonis, Diana and Callisto, the death of Actaeon, the rape of Europa, DanaĂŤ and Diana and Actaeon.

The story behind this painting the man named, Actaeon was going hunting and stumbled across a spring bath that was including nude women, which one of them is Diana and other goddesses. Diana became furious of Actaeon and casted him into a stag to be devoured by his own hounds.

Actaeon just walked in see all these Goddesses nude from there spring bath. The way his body structure is postured you can see that he is shocked himself to these people.

You could notice a woman head popping out of a column of brick. You could see the she is covering her body away from away from Actaeon so we knowing that Diana is shocked herself but the other ladies are. You could see the way she seems nervous and try to hide away from him to be seen shocked and not showing around.

Diana is positioned to the right of the painting. Her pale colour and bright blonde hair, which she has a crown that’s wrapped around her hair. If you could see her from her face that she’s furious and clearly looking towards Actaeon. The lady next to her showing she is protecting her from Actaeon and trying to cover her with the cloth.

The other lady near the bath seems to not have noticed the situation or are not as worried as Diana and the ladies are. The way this lady expression seems to be more clam than the ladies are the way she not trying warped themselves or furious on what has happened. There a lady that seems to be cleaning off Diana leg and feet and she also seem to have not noticed what has occurred.

If you look very closely at Diana's feet you could see a dog that could mean a message of loyalty. However, the dog seems to growl towards Actaeon and protecting her from him and his dog, which the dog may sense that Actaeon is dangerous.

This painting shows different types of twisting to create this story. You can see the twisting Actaeon gives out when he discovered these lady having a private time. The way his body are spread widely showing this surprise of discovering the as he is walking in. The way Diana discover an imposter she seemed to act quickly on trying to cover herself up. You can see the way her body twisted out once Actaeon surprises her and has this reflect of need to cover herself up. The lady next to her also seems to be alarm on the way Actaeon stormed in and has this reflex of covering her up like she protecting Diana away from him. Nearly all the lady seem to be shock on the Actaeon walked in at their private time and the all seem to hide themselves from him.

Titian artwork named ‘Bacchus and Ariadne’ shows different type of twisting on the way Bacchus swings the fabric and like it shows the motion of the wind blowing as he goes towards Ariadna. Bacchus body twists slightly as he lurches towards Ariadna, also his arms move back while his shoulder and head moves forward. This shows this movement of him spring towards Ariadna and shows this twist within his body. They way Ariadna slightly twisting as if she about to turn around and run away or if she trying awaking for something to hit as she trying to cover her face. You can see a young boy on the foreground head tilted back and staring to the viewer being calm with all this anger coming behind him. He grasps the viewer to his attention trying to show this entangled of the snake like the sculpture of Laocoon and his son. They seem to do two things at one time with their body. He seems to be sort of reaching back and moving forward.

Giambologna, Samson Slaying a Philistine, made in Florence, Italy, about 1562.

Samson was one of the judges of the ancient Israelites. He had a strength to defeat the enemies and allow him to perform superhuman, like slaying a lion with his bare hands. However, if Samson long hair was cut, he would lose all of his strength. Which in this sculpture is the part where a lady named Delilah, betrayed Samson by allowing the Philistine to cut his hair, while he was asleep. They also gouged out his eyes and forced him to grind in mill at Gaze. He was taken to a temple of Dagon, where he prayed to God and miraculously recovered his strength, allowing him to defeated his enemies with the jawbone. This sculpture capture the part where he regained his strength and was able to fight again and kill of his enemies.

Samson is seen here wielding a jawbone in order to slay one of the Philistines who have taunted him. The expression his face doesn’t show no emotion of fear towards killing him. The way Giambologna made him tall and the philistines smaller show that Samson is greater than his enemies. The philistines is portrayed to be weaker towards Samson as he crouch down about to lose his life. I can see that the Philistines shows holding a rock. Trying his best to fight of Samson, but we don’t know who’s going to strike who first. This make the story seem to be a cliff-hanger and not know what happened next, but we assume that Samson kill him.

The way this sculpture shows an amount of movement through different type of twisting this sculpture pieces has. The way Samson holds the bone on his hand and about to hit his enemies it shows the twisting as he swings the bone towards the philistines. Samson body form is twisted as he position himself to hit the philistine person. The philistines body is twisted from the way Samson pull back his head as he is slaying him. Also, the philistine body twisting all around Samson body like trying to grasp it way out and it has this pause of waiting for something to happen. Overall, this sculpture feels like they are entangled together with all the wrapping and twisting, it feels all over the place, but it sets the story straight on who Samson was and who the Philistines was. Giambologna over work shows similar form on the sculpture making a story. You can see all the twisting of the Heracles and Nessus with the Nessus body arc backwards as Heracles about to slaying him. Heracles is similar to Samson sculpture where he hold the weapon on his hand and about to slay Nessus. You can see that Hercules show the strength he take from the detail of the muscle and swing with full grip towards Nessus. With the sculpture of the ‘Rape of the Sabine women’ You can see that she trying to get out of this man grip, trying to run away as he holds her tightly. You can see the twist being shown when her head twisted and staring at something like calling for some help. The man on the bottom try is crouching down like he is afraid of what might happen to this women as he has this worried and he is labelled as weak since the man over him is stand up tall like he’s about to win.

This painting by Bronzino is an allegory which is a word to describe a pieces of artwork which has a hidden meaning or narrative. This painting is a Mannerism, which is art after high Renaissance about 1520-1600 over stylised but powerful art with figures in elongated or distorted poses. The painting isn't symmertical like some picture, but the painting asymmetrical which is disorder by Pollock here.

The painting has two different story from a mother and son bond that god has created or a painting about syphilis, which is a sexually transmitted disease was ranging across Europe in the early 16th century. The connection of the mother and son is really close from the they are position together, the way the embrace each other and being nude showing the connection of birth on having a close bond once the mother gave birth. This painting has raised many opinion on what this could mean, but we may not have the final truth of what this painting really means.

As we know there is two side for this picture there are many story hidding together with so much story put into one. One by one we could have one or two different way of saying things that could add to the story. In. Traditional western painting you can identify the châtain each story by their attributes. Attributes are the symbols carried by each character that allows the viewer

This man has a hourglass that may indicate the hidden message that could be the pleasure of life than over time, which will be revealed to be full of despair and anguish. The boy with rose cheeks seems to be scattering rose petals, but also stepping on: that shows the sting of love. You could see this a different way as the boy is smiling. That might mean his foot is numb, and that he is suffering a condition called table dorsal is- a symptom of syphills.

This figure with it hand covering its face and seem like the person screaming or raging with jealously.

There is many confusing with group of analysts that wasn’t able to understand who this person is and why the man with the hourglass on his back is trying to cover her or or reveal who she is.

All the twisting and turning are all happening at once. From Venus sitting down twisting her head from her son pulling Venus towards him and almost about to embraces a kiss. Her arms are twisting slightly from top when holding an arrow and bottom when she holding an Apple. Venus son posture of twisting and turning when he going to his mother. There a baby walking and shows a twisting form when walking towards Venus with rose in his hand. He twists around as he's about to throw the rose to Venus which resemble who she is. You can see a man at the top with the hourglass on his back shows a twisting of his arm grabbing the sheet trying to covering up something or protecting someone from Venus and her son.

This sculpture is named Crouching Venus created by Peter Ley. You can see the similar posture with Venus on the floor crouching. However, Venus is a painting isn’t covering a breast and parts, which shows the beauty of Venus to lure people within the image. These image creates a shock to many people and grab people attention.

Gian Lorenzo Bernini Apollo and Daphne 1622-25 Carrara marble

The insulted Eros then prepared two arrows: one of gold and one of lead. The Cupid shot Apollo with the gold arrow, instilling in the god a passionate love for Daphne. Then shot Daphne with the lead arrow, instilling in her a hatred for Apollo. They were evenly matched in the race until Eros intervened, Apollo wanted to pursued Daphne. However, she pleaded to her father, the river god Ladon, and Ge for help. So they decided to change her into a tree where she wouldn’t be found by Apollo.

The drapery of Apollo’s tunic seems to move with the action and Bernini succeeds in making solid marble appear light and billowing. This goes with Bust of Louis XIV with his effect less curls blooming around his face and the layers of draping that seems to be moving in a course of wind. Also, the marble so softly put together on his face that glows to grasp our attention. We see Bernini was able to make sculpture so detail that we could forget that its marble.

This sculpture created by Bernini is called David. This sculpture was created on 1623 to 1624. The life size sculpture, of David, has an open pose that is shown with his sling shot in the midst of slinging the rock. He isn’t engaged to the viewer, but face else where that could be his target. The poses reflect determination its emphasised by the strong diagonals of limbs. The figure movement is very dramatic of his twisted body about to launch the sling shot to the target. The figure is accurately observed Caarar marble associated with nobility, heroism and status.

This piece is created in Baroque period where there sculpture or painting would show emotion, senses, theatrical, and shows movement. Bernini found a passion through this story and create a piece where it shows Apollo just catching up to Daphne as she turns into a Laurel tree.

When you look carefully on the sculpture you see the moment of transformation is shown and Daphne cries out in surprise and alarm. You can see her finger and hair starting change into leaves and the bark start to appear on her body.

The body of both figures have an open pose. You can see that Apollo is showing the pursuing daphne, with transforming into a tree. Both of the figures have accurately observed anatomical details of the nature forms are well observed.

The figures doesn’t engage with the viewer so we know that this isn’t suppose to lure use in. The bodies of the sculpture is twisting showing the transformation happening. The figure is showing a dramatic movement of Apollo running towards Daphne and the pose of her transforming into a tree.

Bernini captures the story of her turn into a laurel tree and Apollo just catching up to her still having hope of his deep love for her. You can see the way he wrap around her torso as she began to change into a tree. You can see the twisting in her hand as her change into laurel leaves. This sculpture shows this movement making it seem as it’s a living flesh. The Baroque art catches the movement in time, showing the figures movement. Apollo is on one leg and the other behind, while the drapery flowing up in mid air, which shows the motion of him running that gives this twisting pose as he trying to catch up to Daphne. Daphne hair is pushing back forming a twist connecting with her hand to turn into a branch. If you follow the drapery with can see it twist around Apollo hip, to his shoulder and then finally moving Daphne herself.

Bernini create different type of twisting with many of his works in sculptures. David shows the twisting in his body and like he’s about to throw something towards someone since his eyes wonder somewhere in the distant. The bust of Louis XIV show details of twisting through his hair being curly and swaying around his face. Also the way the draping around his body like the wind has blown straight at him. The face slightly twist as he stare into the distance looking at something or someone.

This artist works with sculptures that work with different type of stiries that make his work memorising. His first works were inspired by Michelangelo and Camille Claudel. The other artwork he has done are; The thinker, The Walking Man and The age of Bronze. The work I have looked at is the kiss. The scale of the sculpture is 1.82 m x 1.12 m x 1.17 m, which is small than other sculpture like Bernini David. There are many twisting movement that is involved with his sculpture from the body making a twisting movement.

Rodin: ‘The Kiss’ 1886, Marble life size The tale of this tragic story was in the poem of the second circle of Hell. Among those who had committed sins of the Flesh, Paolo, and Francesca, the love story that made them placed in Hell. Francesca had married Paolo’s Brother, although Paolo and Francesca fell in love with each other while reading romances of courtly love. The exchange their first kiss, until Paolo’s Brother, caught them by surprise and stabbed them to death.

Originally created for Rodin’s Gates of Hell: Paolo and Francesca; links to Dante’s book ‘The Divine Comedy’.

The title of ‘The kiss’ was given by critics who were surprised at the lack of costume or decorative details referring directly to Paolo and Francesca I.e. attributes. This sculpture show ‘The kiss’ from the closed composition which enhances the narrative. Also, you can see the lack of negative space they have between them showing the embrace for each other. On Paolo’s right hand you could see the book which made them feel the love with each other. The way this is a sin is a story behind Francesca, who is married to Paolo brother, which does create a sin for herself. Rodin used No traditional props or attributes As you can see in this other version of the same story The Kiss itself was not controversial, or the nudity really, just that nobody knew who was kissing.

The body of the sculpture is all twisting and wrapping around each other. Francesca’s body twists from the bottom and Paolo twists his head around from the top. I think Rodin is trying to show the passion of love they have for each other. The way Paolo’s hand is gently touching Francesca while they kiss. It shows the twist of the process of becoming passionate with each other. With Francesca, her arm is twisted around Paolo’s neck as if she is dragging him down for the kiss. The way their body is so close and all wrapped around so tightly show their connect and bond they are having as if Rodin has frozen them in time. Dante Gabriel Rossetti

From further research of ‘The Kiss’, I stumbled across this painting that seems similar from the way of the structure of the body when the being to kiss. The painting on the bottom is created by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. This painting in the bottom was created on 1855 and this was created in the symbolism period. The painting on top is the second version of Paolo and Francesca created in 1867. Showing more of there love of each other at that moment and the first version is a painting of there stage of passion in love and going into the Purgatory.

Intention All of these painting are all historical painting involve with very historical painting that’s are all mythological story. We get to see the story and find different meaning and hidden message. The way these painting portrays story into a image but in a frozen time and spotting little meaning to describe the story in full. These panting and sculpture makes me explore a wider imagination for me poster and leaflet.

Title I would like to pick • • • • • • • • •

Magical art Venus and the gods Hidden secrets The tale of the painting Storytime Seeking tales Mysterious Mythological tales Escape

These are the 6 Title I would like to add onto my Poster. I like both of Venus and the gods and seeking tale. The reason I like ‘Venus and the god’ is because it’s simple and straight to the point. Therefore, it would catch peoples attention to the poster. Unfortunately, it could get boring. Therefore, I picked another one I like to debate, which title I like to use onto my poster. I picked ‘Seeking tale’ because the majority of the art was to gain know of story’s that may or may not be true. This title speaks a story to the audience to my poster. Overall, I believe I like the my font title to be ‘Escape’ since art making you feel emotion and emotion and live somewhat calmer when your surrounded with art that speaks a story.

With these font, I choice different theme so I could explore the range of font that would help me find the right font with my poster. I put together different style of font that fit that type of category of poster. I got the Ancient Roman typography, so I’m able to see the historic way of the typography. I want to compare the Ancient Roman with modern typography, so I could see the evolution and change has been over the years. The changes that has been done are more bigger, round or more sharper on the tip.

The ‘Nirvana’ fit this band theme, since they’re a rock band, they need something that fits there band and them. The added a symbol to make a name for themselves. The font isn’t hard to read, which makes people not confused on what there band name mean. The colour fit together carefully with the bright yellow font and plane black background. The background brighten up the font to be more visible and grabs us into there name. The movie poster called ‘Fight club’ are match the scene of the character on the cover. It seems they been illustrated and have a spotted fade like the paint brush ran out of paint and make the spotted ends. The head on the back seem to be the same person, but angled differently and the colour of this person is different and they match together with font and with the effect of the font being painted to make the stoke illusion. The graffiti is more expressive than the other poster font, since it fill the whole poster. The way the font is styles similar to the bull in the poster makes a good combination of the shape of the bull being sharpe edges and creating this with the font to not be too confusing and the colour is white, which makes sense on brightening the poster, but they put a shadow to make it pop out like it’s 3D so it able to stand out and not be blending with the background. The time magazine is formal and simple, since it magazine about politics. Also, the font seem to be roman inspired so it has history and doesn’t take too much space and is thinner. The colour fit the boarder of this magazine and explore has a matching to make it not too complicated and simple.

These are all very different style of font that I would use for my poster. I wanted to explore different style and try to do the font myself as well. I picked two typewriter and two brush font for decoration and one to explain information. The first font is a typewriter font is going to be used to explain information so they can be easy for the reader to understand the letter and know what it say instead of finding it tricky to understand and then giving up in the end, which would be bad for the opening. This typewriter font is bold and simple. However, the space into between each letter makes could take more space. The second font is bold and has that bubble stroke feeling. I wanted to explore shapes and style. I like this because it would stand out and not hid in with the poster. I like the third font to since it simple and clear to read when information is given, this would be better since it skinny and easy to read. I would like be using this font for the information part. The next font is paint bubble font, which look pretty on the example it show on the poster and it seems like a cloud floating in the air. However, this font is very hard to read when I put it on my poster. When I wanted to change the colour it was taking up most of the time, which mean I need something different and more simple. Overall, all the text are very unique in it own way and I want something to catch the reader, but wouldn’t be too hard to understand when it put on the poster. I picked the 2nd and 3rd font, since it clear and has what I need for my poster.

This poster is created for the louvre poster, which they used Liberty leading the people who was created by Eugène Delacroix.

This work seems to capture the top bit of Delacroix painting. They show the leading people and the French flag. This painting must capture many people, since it represent France history through there hard time they had to face. The way they put the text not on the centre to hid Liberty, but this picture is for to represent this lady to catch people attention to make the meaning of France historical painting is showing many relevant work that has been produce in there museums. The typography colour is white since the picture of this is dark than the original and if they used black the picture wouldn’t stand out as much as it is now. We can see the body of the text, which the font is modern and make the attraction of the poster engaged to this era where most people like thing simple and modern.

This poster is a magazine that was created in the 20s, the time of jazz. I loved to explore the history of the posters and I came across this poster. This poster remind me of Picasso or Marc work with the shapes and they way the colour goes. The way that Picasso and Marc work are both shaped with interesting shapes around the face/animal and the colour that makes the work follow around and combine. With each other.

Picasso

Marc

I believe this work gives the feeling of the 1920 era. I like the colour combination and the way its mix match with the newspaper lettering and the solid colours of yellow and red that reminds me of autumn or its about love since there is a heart shape. I like the way the typography stands out and makes a stand with this magazine, but doesn’t over run it with too much information and hid the art work.

This poster catches people attention because its 3 women walking strongly with confidence and it feels really important. We see them with there head up and they are the centre of the attention of this movie. By judging there clothes this people are dressing smartly and it seems they working in the 50s or 60s on the way the clothes it pattern and the way there hair is stylised. The background shows many details with rocket, American flags and a building with a name called NASA. NASA is a space station that involves on looking closely at space and technology that might perhaps change the world.

I like this poster because of the meaning it bring to female, male, the black community and around the world. They made use remember the importance of the workplace isn’t your identity, but the hard work and talent you bring to it. I want to bring to my poster to make people understand that art is not just to glances, but to find the meaning behind the arts.

The title is very simplistic and tell us a lot with ‘ Hidden Figures’. The way that ‘figures’ is larger than the ‘hidden’ word. I think this movie is manly focus on the figures, as it telling us that this is involving math, which they us to send the space ship to space and back to earth. I guess the word ‘hidden’ is to represent these women, since they are women and black. In this time period in America these women were oppressed on hiding in the background from the world. They were just nothing more than Black female to this country back in that day, until these 3 women stood there ground and start to change their world in there work places. This helped many women in the future throughout their workplace.

These poster inspired this poster when I was trying to find a final inspiration for the final poster. I wanted to try out something with image I took and find a way to make my poster original and create something similar with for my first idea of what I like my poster to be like. I wanted to find a way to make this poster fun and create a story within the poster. I felt like this poster was giving me crime watch vibe and I wanted to play around the structure of the background. I used the quick selection tool to only have the head showing. I used the effect from Photoshop and used cut-out and it make boxes of colour that seem fun and transfer into less cut-out to show the face clearly.

I’m going to explain the process of how I made my final poster. Firstly, I picked a image I took myself that I wanted to use for my poster, so I used this image that I took in the studio. I followed a YouTube tutorial to learn on how to do the poster. You need to crop the background and use the colour range to quickly erase the things you don’t want to add. The white is to keep the colour and black is to get rid of the colour. You need to uses the eraser tool to bring the deleted image from the face. After make the background black by selecting alt backspace to fill the background. You can adjusts the image if you want it brighter or contrast more of the image. Then you need to select a new layer and use the hue and saturation and select the colourize and I put the hue on 209 and saturation on 17. Add a new layer and put it on overlay and use the paint brush to add the under base of the colour and making it more coloured. You need to add more layer and put them all on colour for each colour your going to use. I later used the smudge tool to mix the colour to make it natural instead of spots. For the font I found a YouTube video that inspired me to try it out. I know it would be fun with all the colour and make the font seem to be entangled with it all. I first added the image of the flowers that was took by the creator of the video and added every letter into place and make every letter opacity and erases around the flower I want to make pop out. I put all the letter back to 100% and I also did the same for the rectangle. The font are from Dafont.com.

Holi is a Indian celebration and they used these colourful powered and throwing it around and resulting them to a having colour splatted all around them.

All of these ticket are very different on it own way. They all have different style, size, colour and genre. I wanted to explore different style of the ticket to understand what I want for my own ticket. I think I want to keep it similar to the poster because many people keep thing similar to my style. I like the snow white with the design of being very snow white theme with this ticket. It has a designed side and a plan side where it make with each other since it easier to read. The Ben Howard has this artist style itself, this seems to make the singer seem southern and country since the way of the graphic remind me of the diner and has that Texas feeling. The colour of this ticket is fun and natural with this peach colour that reminds me of the sun. Overall, the ticket inspire me to keep it the way I like it and have the style that make people excited and want to go and also being able to understand what the ticket is saying.

I used a 142mm length and 52mm height and made 42mm to leave space for the information. I want to keep it that same as the poster to make it similar and make the ticket also colourful and be simple. For the space full of the information it shows the price, the location, opening hours and ticket number. I put a warning label to make this ticket feel real as if your actually going to the museum.

I created my leaflet on Canva where they have different layout to inspire your own and have a starting point on wanting to know what you would like for your leaflet. I wanted to make my leaflet based on the artist I have research and show case there work and know what you could be look at and understand the artist and there work. I highlighted some of the artist to make the viewer wanting to know more and make the audience wanting to come in the museum and understand more of the art itself. I added the map of the exhibition to make it clear for the audience to go around the exhibition

MASP Art Gallery is very different to historic art museum, where the painting are hanged on the wall and having a beautiful interior on the wall and columns. However, this art pieces shows the highlight of the art, so it doesn’t distract over eye and make us focus toward the painting.

This Museum holds many other type of art pieces like sculpture work. The painting are hanged on the wall and the inside of them building is outstandingly beautiful with the light wall to bring the light to sine the room and the window with beautiful colour and large to brighten up the room. The columns with interesting detailing showing the experience and hard work they put to create something so elegant. The space making it like you in a beautiful castle and walking toward a ball room to find your prince/princess and making you feel all sort of emotion. The way this museum making me feel is like having a dream house or like your dreaming.

My exhibition My design of the exhibition gallery seem to be simple to go around and find things easily. I made room for sculpture works to be separated from the paint work. I wanted the exhibition to feels comfortable and free flowing. I decided to colour code different section for the years that’s similar to national gallery of art in London. I also wanted to add a cafÊ so people are able to dine and have somewhere to eat close by. I added larger room and have that Greek style for the sculptures and like some gallery done themselves. I want to highlight every room to the style of the Era of each painting Period.

Inside of the exhibition

I used Photoshop to create these painting onto the wall and make the sculpture seem well placed together. I pick the birth of Venus, Venus, Cupid, folly and time and Apollo and Daphne. I used photo to place these painting on the wall and make the sculpture to seem standing there realistically. For the sculpture I need to create a shadow to make it as if actually there. I used the paint brush and used the colour black, but I put the opacity into 50% to have that realistic shadow of that transparent of the shadow. For the painting I got a frame and took the picture I wanted to use and put the layer on top to show and make it look like it hanging on the wall. I did this by using the control button and place it like it hanging onto the wall.
