ABSTRACT Cities are aggregates of collective experience, fields, and space. In this era of homogenization of facade, function, and space, all of which are deconstructed, cities no longer have local characteristics. Contemporary architecture has become a simple system of machinery, objects, furniture, information, coordinates, and containers. Buildings no longer own themselves anymore, no longer has space, but just a mechanical replica and a symbol. An urban space composed entirely of continuous space and homogeneous units, everything is composed of horizontal floors and ground, showing an infinitely space expanding horizontal grid. The MEGA city completely support by artificial lighting and mechanical ventilation. There are no Architecture, furniture and various equipment units scattered among them in the space. The boundaries of life are broken. People can freely choose where they want to live, but they also lose the meaning of land. The city is no longer a cultural space, but just a mechanical place for consumerism and financial flows. This thesis discusses research in this contemporary city where the field is gradually being replaced by movement and speed, people lose memor y in the city and become prisoners of architecture. We can no longer recognize the city any more, but how should we remember the SPACE?

Imagine the future of Taipei city not far away After homogenization, Taipei City expanded to the geographical boundary. In addition to the huge embankment of the Danshui River, several high walls were built to isolate Taipei City from everything in nature, forming a closed internal space. NO ONE doubted this scenery. After all, "The inhabitants of this architecture, those strong enough to love it, would become its Voluntary Prisoners, ecstatic in the freedom of their architectural confines."[1] [1] Exodus, or the voluntary prisoners of architecture, Rem Koolhaas

Urban island The Huashan Prairie was once an important freight station during the Japanese Occupation era, and the railway landscape spans the entire Taipei area. After changing at different times, the site cannot effectively connect with the surrounding environment. The huge boundary surrounds this area, making this place become an isolated island in the Taipei city.

Urban Core In the era of mechanical replication, the mega characteristics of the homogenized city in the future will expand outward to rewrite the texture

of the past, eliminate the geographical relationship, and gradually become a neutral space for the third party. The shuttle in space has become a point-to-point experience. We no longer rely on the convenience and economic relationship of the city center. We can freely choose the place to live and stay. The continuous relationship between the landscape and the field no longer has meaning. The homogenized city continues to expand until the end of geography.

EXPO Temporary performances are like a circus, a carnival, and a fancy dress party. ARCHITECTURE becomes an object, a state in which an event can happen anytime. As the opposite of eternity, it emphasizes the space of "NOW", the temporal eternity.

INSTANT EVENT !!

Only one day of urban events No traces are left, and the unreproducible events are only digital data records and participant memories. An invisible monument, has nothing to do with the context of the site, breaks away from the shackles of the earth, but gives the space a new spirit of place.

Traces of the past, the current urban landscape. A giant structure buried in the ground, an elevated road that traverses the Taipei skyline. Through the time of momentary event intervention, the occurrence of activities, the interconnection, and integration of each space, regain the meaning of place in this temporality.
