Issue
"Sudden Infent Death Syndrome" SIDS is a sudden and unexplained death of a baby. It often happens during sleeping without any healthy reason. Every year, 1400 babies die from SIDS in America, and 50 to 80 percents of the cases occurred during sleeping. Thus, parents are always worried about their kids and lose plenty of time to sleep.

Lineric is an educational pantyliner for girls experiencing adolescence. It helps little girls distinguish the colors of vaginal discharges which reflects their body health. By noticing the importance of the body signals, girls could positively and confidently treat themselves when growing up.

"How do girls explore, and experience their bodies?" There are female topics highly masked or obscured in social communication, and women are still not taught to know their own bodies completely. When little girls are curious about their body changes, they are hard to find the answers of them, which lets them remain comfused or even negative to their body images. One of the important but often ignored issues of girls' adolescence is vaginal discharge which could reflect body health.
"Colors of vaginal discharge" In fact, the color of vaginal discharge changes because of various status of body health. Hence, paying attention on girls' discharges could helps them dicover serious illness and take action early. However, little girls hardly understand the healthy value of vaginal discharge.

Pain point There are difficulties in both school and family education in teaching such issue. As the first course that every girl should take in adolscence, is there another way to help them learn the benifits of their body signals?
In school, there is not enough time for sexual education, and some parents intervene the contents of the course. Hence, girls are hard to learn deeply about the related issue.
Although parents are willimg to answer thier children questions, children are too shy to ask. Besides, parents may not know the correct informaton.

"View points of various groups." In the domain of sexual education, we know that different groups have their own difficulties, so we visited the experts of sexual education, school teachers, parents and students to understand the various opinions toward current sexual education.

"Educational opportunity in family." After understanding the difficulties of school education, we tried to transfer the educational occation to their families and let the parents communicate with t h e i r k i d s . We re s e a rc h e d a n d a n a l y z e d s e v e r a l c o m m o n o c c a t i o n s t h a t f a m i l y communication happen, and tried to transform the elements in our proposals.

Solution Testing
"Learn it and apply it." The process focused on the reasonality of the senario and the field in which the design would have happened. We gradually realized that sexuality is too private to talk with parents naturally for teenagers. Hence, we adjusted our design direction to self-learning and application, which is more important for the education.

"Functional but also aesthetical." W h e n m o d e l i n g , w e re f e re d p l e n t y o f p e n t y l i n e r o n b o t h m a r k e t a n d I n t e r n e t , f i n d i n g t h e a p p e a l i n g f a c t o r s f o r l i t t l e g i r l s . B e s i d e s , w e m a d e g re a t e ff o r t s t o balance the aesthetics and readability of the icons. We hoped that as an educational product, girls would sincerely like and are willing to use it.

Concept
"Redefine of pantyliner." As a sanitary product, pantyliner is often considered to be abandoned and meaningless. We wondered that if sanitary product can help girls know more about their own bodies better.
"An educational experience." Lineric adopts the color information of vaginal discharges on the pantyliner, making the education happen in real life naturally and distinctively. Little girls can learn and examine their body health promptly and easily. 50
Function
Identify The icons of flowers with specific colors are printed on the back of Lineric. When girls dispose and roll the pantyliner, the icons help them identify the colors of their discharges easily and compare with previous ones. Hence, they can obviously find difference of their discharges. 51
Communicate The information card explains the meanings of each color of vaginal discharges. Moreover, when girls need helps, they could express their colors more precisely tpo others by merely pointing the colors of the icons provided.

Expection Lineric helps girls start to notice and learn about their body signals. Besides, it also let girls communicate more easily with doctors, which strongly encourages girls to ask for help. While the awareness of gender equality has risen, only when girls fully understand the meanings of their bodies, they could happily grow up, confidently face the female topics and speak for themselves. Lineric is the essential class that all girls need to take in every generation. 53

Future Plan
"On the way to the market." Before the presentation of the graduation exhibition, we had decided to promote our design to the market. We believed that our design should not be limited as a student work, and it could actually affect the moder n sexuality education. Thanks to the exhibition, we received plenty of feedback from various identities, including designers, parents, and producers. After that, we also visited a junior high school for the advice from real teenagers and teachers. During the interview, surprising and positive feedback was encouraging to us. Next, we plan to integrate the feedback and then improve Lineric, then apply for a patent. In the end, we will officially present Lineric to the brands of pantyliner, making an affort to let our design produced on the market and really helps teenagers. 55

SHARK is a sequential turn light of motorcycle It is adopted no-lens design and focused on the balance between the form and the availability of production.
Concept Design Target "Design for mass production." One of the most important reasons why students' designs are not available in the real market is that they didn't consider the conditions of mass production. If a design can't be produced, nothing will be improved. Therefore, I strongly practiced achieving the balance between the form and the conditions of mass production through the turn light design project.
Target motor Ducati Supersport-S Ducati redesign their classic Supersports with the elements of curves and minimalism to make the motor more elegant but still maintain the sense of speed, which is like a shark.

"Fantacy v.s. Reality" CAD modeling was the most defficult part of the project. The curved surfaced and line must be smooth and aethestic in the scale of about 80 x 40 mm. After that, the structures for mass production were arranged and the draft direction should also be available. Eventually, I tried almost 30 versions to achieve the balance between the form and the mass production.

Rendering
"Emphasize the curve." When rendering, I focused on using the light to emphasize the feature of the curved line. Besides, I made a strong effert to simulate the affect of the light reflection. Finally, I combined the glass texture and spot light to complete the reflection and the shine of the light in the light guides.

Prototype
It was hard to present the design with exact ingredients, so I adapted stereolithography( SLA) and spray painting to simulate the texture of ABS. Besides, the transparent SLA was applied as the light guides. With the PCB and LED, I successfully tranferred the concept design into a avialable model.

Background "Hanger is not designed for one-armed people." N o w a d a y s , h a n g e r s a re d e s i g n e d f o r p e o p l e w i t h t w o h a n d s , w h i c h however has bothers one-armed people for decades. Although they has developed their own way to adapt it, it still decreases the efficiency and the mood of the experience.
