Texas Army National Guard

Created in 1917, the 36th Infantry Division (Texas Army National Guard) fought with distinction in both World Wars and has been actively engaged in overseas contingencies and support for civil authorities since its reactivation in 2004. The 36th is now deployed to Basrah, Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn.
