PM speaks out on gay rights THE PRIME MINISTER has used the first ever LGBT reception at Downing Street to weigh into the American debate on gay marriage. Speaking to a gathering of some of the most influential gay people in the country, Gordon Brown sensationally attacked a Californian law banning gay

marriage, describing it as “unacceptable” and claiming “you can’t legislate love”. He described Proposition 8 as an “attempt to undo the good that has been done” and warned the UK gay community to stay vigilant against any backsliding. Continued on page 2
