Our Goals To work with local law enforcement, businesses and neighborhood families, to develop safe harbors for children who are walking to or from school, or in their neighborhoods where they may seek refuge and assistance should they feel threatened or are being harassed by threatening persons. To develop general population education programs to help citizens become aware of the functioning of such systems as the Amber Alert system, and reporting missing or abducted individuals and knowing what information, and in what manner, it needs to be reported. To form lobbying groups that will work towards change in the laws regarding issuing Amber Alerts, the dissemination of information regarding sexual preditors in our neighborhoods, and laws regarding punishment of convicted perpetrators. To form a committee that will attend City Council meetings to speak up on behalf of neighborhoods in need and to keep those needs fresh in the minds of our elected officials until such changes take place. To develop a Guardian Council in each sector of the city, with a Council leader who will bring their neighborhoods concerns to the general committee at monthly meetings so that we can keep the flow of information, ideas and concerns known throughout the city, rather than in just small pockets in random places. A resource where parents and educators can get books that provide the proper verbiage to Empower Children with the Tools to Keep Them Safe. f you can still not find Friend Manual wit the other books in your desk let me know its now not available on line but I know I originally gave you a copy in your computer in both photo shop and word. So originally this should have been so easy you could have cut and pasted the words and then changed the font that was it. So hopefully that is still in your computer.

Friend Manual is a book that will help you know when to say yes or when to say NO! This book will help YOU to KNOW when it's okay to stay and when you need to GO! There may be times in your life when you need to say NO! This is IMPORTANT to know. You will learn that you may be small, but you have a VOICE. With YOUR VOICE you can make a choice. YOUR VOICE is POWERFUL tool. So knowing that is pretty cool!

As we grow up each and every day, life teaches us lessons along the way. Our lives can get so busy with so many people to meet and to greet. When you find a special friend, it’s a true treat!
So please follow along.

A wise person once said, "Treat others the way you want to be treated."

We all know how:
We want others to share. We don't want to be cheated. You know how it feels when people are unkind, so when you are with others keep that in mind.

This is a very important lesson. It could be the most important of all. Not everyone should be trusted and some not at all. It's great to have friends. Friends are really good. Just to make sure you have friends who behave as they should.

Ever keep a bad secret

There are good secrets and bad secrets too. Let's learn the difference between the two: Good secrets are for surprises and dreams that you've had, presents and things to share with your mom and dad.

Bad secrets are things that make you feel sad. Those are usually about something bad. Those are the secrets you must never keep!

Again I repeat you MUST NEVER KEEP!

Tell your Mom and your Dad you feel sad. DO NOT let a bad secret make you feel sad!

TELL your grandma, TELL your aunt, TELL your uncle. TELL your grandpa
A bad secret CAN'T be kept! It just CAN'T!

TELL your teacher, TELL your preacher, TELL someone you TRUST! Bad secrets must be told, They just MUST! An adult or anyone a bit older than you who asks you to keep a bad secret could be bad news!

Choose your friends wisely and be a good kid. So you want to know how to choose friends wisely if you're a kid. Well‌ You have a great brain and your brain giver you power, the power to make good choices hour after hour. Choose good friends. Stay away from the bad! (Remember bad friends are the ones who treat you bad and make you feel sad)

Watch out for adults who act strange.

This is important stuff to know. When someone is acting strange it's a good time to say NO! Don't talk to adults you don't know. They may offer you candy or try to get you to go. Don't go with them to help find a pet. Talking to strangers is trouble you bet!

SCREAM for HELP! Get your parents’ attention! Bad strangers DO NOT have good intentions. RUN, RUN, fast as you can! Never get in that car, truck, or van!
If a bad person grabs you and is holding on tight. You MUST put up your very best FIGHT! You MUST protect yourself this way! Protecting yourself is definitely okay! Hope this never, ever happens, but if it does you start slappin’!
DEFEND YOURSELF BITE, CLAW, KICK, PUSH, SCREAM! FIGHT, HIT!

NEVER GIVE UP! YOU MUST put up a FIGHT!

Don’t keep secrets or go somewhere, you shouldn’t go even if the person doing bad is someone you know. A true friend would never ask you to do something that makes you feel sad. A true friend would NEVER do something that bad.
Please keep this in mind... If someone has treated you unkind. You are NOT to blame. And you should NEVER EVER feels shame. The person who hurt you is the one who did bad

Choose your friends wisely and have lots of fun! Get outside and dance and play in the sun. When you make mistakes, learn from them. Mistakes are a part of life. We learn from them.
