“Do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do you?” Is luck something that only lucky people have and others don’t? I would argue that luck is about how you respond to it. Unlucky people miss chance opportunities because they are so focused on looking for something else. Luck is being able to notice opportunities, listening to your gut, being optimistic and just having a resilient attitude. Lucky people have figured out how to minimize the negative impact of bad luck by figuring out how to use it and move forward to the goals they’re trying to achieve. If people like Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates are no luckier than the average person, then it’s only mental limitations that we put on ourselves that keep us from being the lucky ones. Creative people are some of the luckiest people I know because they trust in their abilities to come up with ideas, they know good things will happen, then like magic they do. We can take this insight into luck and encourage ourselves and others to look for ways to force luck to happen. If we do, we just might come up with better ideas. Lucky us.

THE FOUR P’S IN GOLF There has been much written about the importance of how to hold a golf club. Throughout history, there has been excellent players who have held the golf club in many different ways and played brilliant golf. Over the next 4 months, we would like to provide practical advice on how to grip the golf club properly while applying the 4 P’s principle: placement, position, pressure and practice. While coaching players, the most common mistake we see is players gripping the club in their left hand through the palm of their hands. We suggest holding the club through the fingers. This will allow a suitable wrist hinge and increase power while striking the ball. ***The 4 P’s principle is for right handed players but if you are a left handed player, please email us at dfgolfcoaching@gmail.com and we will provide the principle that suits left handed golfers.

Improve your game by booking a lesson with our dedicated golf instructor, Dean Fairweather. Lessons are available Thursday-Sunday and cost $40/30 min or $70/hour.

EXPERT ADVICE

MAINTENANCE The last part in our series of valuable advice from Auto Hobby's

Mechanic Foreman Andy Challis, a former MOT Quality Controller.

Part 1: Winter Auto

Part 2: MOT Common Pitfalls

Part 3: Maintaining Your Vehicle

"What I like about this job are the opportunities it presents that you wouldn't see in other jobs. A while ago there was a fire truck with a major electrical problem that they just couldn't pin down, they even had people over from the States to try and fix it without any luck. Myself and Jay another mechanic here went to LRS and troubleshot it down to a faulty circuit board. We removed the board and took it to the avionics back shop who assisted us by soldering in some new chips which fixed the problem. Needless to say the Fire Chief was very happy as the Engine had been down for 7 months. It’s good to be able to help; it makes you feel like part of the family.”

Preventive maintenance is the best way to stay ready for your MOT! If your vehicle has been properly maintained during the year there' s less of a chance that you will fail an MOT. Routine & Scheduled Maintenance are vital to the health of your vehicle –we do a FREE 16 pt health check with every oil change to catch issues before they become a problem. We also always offer the customer the option for a fluid top up, which includes front and rear wiper fluid, transmission oil, engine oil levels, brake fluid levels, power steering and so on. A lot of people forget to check fluid levels, like power steering fluid, until something goes wrong and then it may be too late as internal damage may have occurred. As Benjamin Franklin said "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!" Help for deployed spouses We work closely with the Airman & Family Readiness Center (AFRC) as they have a program for spouses of deployed Airmen where they provide a voucher for up to $70 towards the cost of an oil change (Contact AFRC for details). This way while the service members are away they can focus on the mission and not have to worry about car issues at home. Need help learning more about your car? We also offer a new FREE "Know Your Car Class" on Fridays from 5:30-7pm where a member of staff will go over "Your Vehicle ” with you so you know the basics of your own vehicle.

Tiffany's Take A SIMPLE FAVOR 5/5 This film is stylish, engaging and mysterious with a well combination of comedy and suspense. This mommy mystery has a “Gone Girl” feel to it, but still brought entertainment and left me wanting more from the film. The dynamic contrast between (Blake Lively) and (Anna Kendrick) characters is cringe-worthy yet hilarious and complementary. The movie itself has a mix of CSI, Pretty Little Liars and America’s Most Wanted feel to it. The plot will leave your head spinning for a few hours while you ask yourself “ what in the world did I just watch?”

HALLOWEEN (2018) 3/5 Definitely not as great as the original, but it came very close. Jamie Lee Curtis does an outstanding job at playing Laurie 40 years later. The movie proves that sometimes you can revive an old franchise and still bring something new and terrifying to the table. Michael Myers has never been this scary before and John Carpenter composes the movie so well it wouldn’t be a Halloween movie without him. It brings a great addition to the series and has an interesting way to take a breath in to a new life of a legendary horror film.
