and Blake

Cobi DeWitt Koonce was born July 16, 2002, in Farmers Branch, Texas, to his loving parents, Randal (“Randy”) DeWitt Koonce and Rae Ann Pelt Koonce. Cobi was a wonderful big brother to his sister Lexi Rae Koonce and his brother Levi Craig Koonce, whom he loved very much, and he was a fun partner in adventures (nefarious or otherwise) with his cousins. Cobi (Class of ’21) attended Gunter schools from kindergarten through his senior year and was very involved in basketball (his absolute favorite sport) and cross country. His closest friends called him the “best” of best friends. OurGunter.com | June 2021

Proud to support Gunter ISD and Gunter Athletics!

This marks the 5th year for the annual Gunter Neighborhood Challenge. This is the main community fundraiser for the Gunter Library & Museum and proceeds are used to make sure the Library has enough money to support all the family programs offered. The Library is 100% Volunteer staffed and is a funded 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and this fundraiser so greatly helps provide for the needs of the Gunter community for Library weekly Toddler Storytime, GISD Library visits, STEAM activities, Summer Reading Program, Back to School Supply Drive, Book Club, PC and copy services and so many more events that they provide. The Challenge runs until July 4th. Each neighborhood’s donation tallies are posted on the Library front window as well as on their social media and website. In 2020, The Bridges finally won having lost in many years past to other great family communities like Hidden Lakes, The Woods and Preston Glen. This year the Library has a stretch goal of $3000 in total community donations. If they reach that goal they will throw a Hot Dog party with all the fixins in early August in the field next to the Library for all the Gunter Neighborhoods. Come into the Library to make a donation in person or donate on-line at their Facebook page or website www.gunterlibrary.com. Donations are tax deductible.

The Gunter Library and Museum has been a part of the Gunter community for sixteen years. We are a 501 c3 non profit Library with volunteers who give their time and talents to serve our area’s business, academic, imagination, and reading needs. Visit us 110 S. Hwy 289 (next to the donut shop) and take advantage of our services • Books in print/audio/e-books/DVDs • Storytime, STEAM, and kids Summer Reading programs • Book Club • Free wifi and computer access with printer and fax services • Visit our museum and featuring artifacts, picture, and stories about the history of Gunter
