A Host of Features
Packed with features, the cab is extremely spacious creating a comfortable environment to spend your working day. Low noise, low vibration and ergonomic design make the air-conditioned cab, with its fully adjustable air suspended seat, comfortable and pleasant. Machine functions are clearly visible on an 8-inch touch screen display which is 15% larger than the previous models, making it easier to read while working. A centralised instrument cluster gives you a constant overview of machine status and operating parameters, including overload warnings, while many electronic functions are concentrated in the most convenient spot for you to improve work efficiency. In addition to Bluetooth connectivity, a top of the range audio system and a convenient under the seat fridge, the cab is fitted with 360-degree cameras, ensuring vital all-round visibility. Easily check the work site in the front, rear and to the right and left with the state-of-the-art Advanced Around View Monitoring. The AAVM video camera system gives you a secure field of vision in all directions, thereby preventing accidents. Intelligent Power Control (IPC) regulate the hydraulic pumps, depending on the job you want to do. Simply select speed mode, balance mode or efficiency mode to tailor your machine’s performance, while an ECO Gauge gives you instant fuel efficiency feedback as you work. You can also monitor detailed information on average, hourly and daily fuel consumption to help you work more economically. For maximum convenience and security, the machine features Hyundai’s exclusive
Hi-MATE remote fleet management system. It offers working information such as working / idling hours and fuel consumption. You can check the difference between total engine hours and actual working hours, see how productive your machines are and plan any required cost saving solutions. Fast and routine servicing is made possible with easy access to important servicing points as well as clear information about maintenance status via the instrument cluster.

articulated dump trucks FP MCCANN DELIGHTED WITH LATEST ADDITION TO THEIR ADT FLEET
Terex Trucks may have just rebranded to Rokbak as you will read elsewhere in this issue, but the articulated dump trucks are still a force to be reckoned with, not least at FP McCann who have recently added yet another to their fleet, supplied by Sleator Plant.
The TA300 (since rebranded RA30) is presently earning its keep at FP McCann’s Craigall Quarry at Garvagh where it has joined two others; five other ADTs are working at the company’s Knockloughrim Quarry near Magherafelt and another in Bradleys Quarry at Kilrea. So what makes the brand so popular with FP McCann? “First and foremost, they are excellent value for money,” says Quarry Manager Chris McCloy. “As with the other ADT’s, this latest TA300 is operator friendly, with a spacious and comfortable cab and good all round visibility, plus it uses even less fuel than the others in our fleet.” That’s because the new TA300 has an updated EP320 transmission which now delivers a 5% improvement in fuel efficiency, as well as a 5 km/h (3.1 mph) increase in speed to 55 km/h (34 mph), an extended maintenance period and enhanced performance when compared with the previous model. All of this means that customers, like FP McCann, can be more productive, achieving faster cycle times, lower cost per tonne and reduced carbon emissions. The TA300’s new transmission comes with eight forward gears as well as four reverse gears, higher overall gear ratio spread, equal ratio steps between gears, and optimised gear shifting with partial load shifts. These features mean that the upgraded TA300 offers lower fuel consumption with smoother gear shifting and thereby higher levels of operator comfort. A well established popular choice on quarries, construction sites and infrastructure developments, the 30 tonne workhorse, which is powered by a Scania DC9 engine developing gross power of 370 hp (276 kW) and a maximum torque of 1387 lbf ft (1880 Nm), is drawing aggregate from a crushing plant at the quarry.
Operator Comfort
As Chris pointed out, the TA300 has a spacious, ergonomically designed cab which ensures operators are comfortable when behind the wheel. Acoustic insulation helps to minimise noise levels inside the cab while a high performance and easily adjusted heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system ensures a stable temperature. Other features that help to deliver a comfortable work environment include a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, an adaptive air suspension operator’s seat with adjustable armrests, anti-vibration mounts for the engine and cab, and cushioned stops on the steering cylinders. It is equipped with true independent front suspension as standard, further enhancing operator comfort and enabling
excellent traction control and maximum productivity, even in challenging conditions. The TA300 also has fully enclosed, oilcooled, multi-disc brakes at all six wheels. These are supported by both the engine brake and the transmission retarder, giving the operator superb control and increasing safety and stability while providing a low cost of operation. The TA300 also now comes with long life transmission fluid, increasing the length of time between oil maintenance intervals from 1,000 to 4,000 hours. For safe, easy servicing, the TA300 has ground level test points, a fully tilting cab, an electronically raised hood and a full suite of on-dash diagnostic and machine health check readouts which help to maximise uptime.
Service & Support
With so many ADTs operating across a number of sites, good service and support from the dealer is essential to keep the potential for downtime to a minimum, and the service provided by Sleator Plant doesn’t disappoint. “We have had a long standing working relationship with Sleator Plant stretching back for many years and have always found them prompt and efficient in responding to our needs,” says Chris.
