GRATITUDE through
Service
“Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.” – Henri Frederic Amiel
At one of our recent office Zoom meetings, between sips of tea and coffee, we took time to reflect on what a year it has been and the promise of the new year ahead. While we each had unique thoughts and stories to share, we pleasantly found a common thread in that we have so much for which to be grateful. Of course, the real magic happens when feelings of gratitude are set in motion and kindness is returned. Below are snapshots of opportunities we’ve had over the years to volunteer in the area and support organizations that make our communities even better places to live. We’ve also included a list of organizations worth checking out if you’re looking to connect as well and support this great place that we call home!

BIG FALL DOWNTOWN CLEANUP Jay Spiro (standing center in gray shorts) at Sylva’s 2020 “Big Fall Downtown Cleanup.” Members of the Sylva Rotary Club, Garden Club, and others volunteered to help spread mulch, weed, clip, and clean Downtown Sylva in anticipation of the fall tourist/leaf season, which is the busiest time of year here!
