It was a mystery... one day she’s serving customers at the Blue Heron on Country Music Night, and the next day she’s gone! The TGO locals were concerned and needed to know what happened to Deanne Fricano. It wasn’t long before Dee put a post on Facebook explaining her absence. It was a relief to know she wasn’t abducted by aliens! “I’ve never really been the spontaneous one. My anxiety has held me back from a lot of things in life. When I decided to buy a camper, I thought how great it would be to travel. I never thought I would actually get up and leave my comfort zone. To go on vacation, and then to decide I didn’t want to go back home is one of the craziest things I’ve ever done. (Well, maybe not the craziest.) But I have to tell you, this whole week has been amazing. Being so close to my best friend, and being able to follow my dreams of exploring is something I should have done years ago. Life is too short to be anything but happy.” Well... inquiring minds needed to know more about Dee’s sudden decision to make this life-changing choice, so we sent our ace investigators to track her down for this exclusive interview.

So Dee, we saw from your Facebook post that you’ve had this desire to take off and explore, but really, when did you make up your mind to leave? About three days into my vacation! I had been telling people for months that I was going to leave, no one believed me including myself. It was always scary to think about relocating to a place where I didn’t know anybody. So where are you now and what are you doing? I live in Defuniak Springs, Florida in a Campground called Sunset King Lake RV Resort. I absolutely fell in love with this place. My favorite part about it is that the pool and hot tub overlook a big lake. When I walk up to the lake in the evening time I can’t even count the amount of turtles that swim up to me. I feel like it is in the middle of nowhere, but Walmart is only 15 minutes away. To get there it is nothing but back roads and hills. I will share some photos of downtown, but there is not much to see! Tell us a little about your new job? How long do you plan to stay there? I have had so many job offers, trying to find one that will make me as happy as everything else going on right now. I am working part time at a new speakeasy called The Cellar, located in Niceville. I absolutely love it and I’m learning so much from the mixologist. I still have more interviews lined up and I’m hoping to get another part time job right on the beach in Destin. So, how long do you plan to stay there before you hit the road for another adventure? My goal is to stay here for two years. If I didn’t love the campground so much I would probably take off sooner than that. To be honest with you, I don’t even know where I want to go! Do you plan to get some parrots like Frank and Suzy? I think I will stick with my two lizards and my cat! If I had more space I would probably get more animals, though! Have you thought about starting a Go Fund Me account so all your Blue Heron friends can help out? I’ve never thought about that, but I would love for some familiar faces to come visit! Come check out the beautiful campground and let me make you some of these fancy cocktails I am learning! Will you keep us informed of your future adventures? Of course! I miss everybody and would love to share my journey.
