Dragon Boat Festival Dragon Boat Festival is on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Dragon Boat Festival is a holiday that is special for Chinese people. During Dragon Boat Festival we remember Chu Yuan (屈 原), the famous poet. It’s the fifth day of the fifth lunar month! It’s 9:00! It’s Dragon Boat Festival! During the Dragon Boat Festival, Lisa and Jim go to the big lake. At the lake they see many dragon boats. Dragon boats are very fast boats. Many people sit in the boat, and the boats are very cool. Lisa and Jim like to see the boats. Lisa and Jim want to go on the boats. It’s a good day! It’s 11:00! It’s Dragon Boat Festival! On Dragon Boat Festival day it is very hot. The sun gets bigger and bigger. The sun gets higher and higher. Lisa and Jim like to sit under the tree when it is hot. It is a good place to sit. The sun is going down! It’s 6:00! It’s Dragon Boat Festival! For Dragon Boat Festival many people barbecue. Lisa and Jim like to barbecue. Lisa and Jim barbecue with their father. They barbecue near their house. The stars are out! It’s 8:00! People eat pomeloes during the Dragon Boat Festival time. Pomeloes are a kind of fruit. Lisa and Jim like this fruit. Lisa and Jim barbecue, and they also eat pomeloes. The pomeloes are very good. You can make a hat from a pomelo. It’s very late! It’s 10:00! It’s still Dragon Boat Festival! People also eat rice tamales during the Dragon Boat Festival time. Rice tamales are very yummy. Lisa and Jim like this food. Lisa and Jim barbecue, eat pomeloes, and eat rice tamales. The rice tamales are very good. When Chu Yuan fell into the lake, people fed rice tamales to the fish so they would not eat him! It is super late! It’s 12:00! Dragon Boat Festival is over. Lisa and Jim go to bed. They are very happy, but very tired. It was a great Dragon Boat Festival.
