A female proboscis monkey can be 12 kilograms and 62 centimeters tall. The heaviest Proboscis Monkey ever recorded was 30kg. That makes them to become a kind of the biggest monkeys in Asia. Proboscis Monkeys also have different colors for their bodies.

Their pelage on their heads, back shoulders, thighs can be bright orange, reddish brown, yellowish brown, or brick-red. Their arms and legs are usually pale gray, and their ventral surface is light-gray, yellowish, grayish, or light orange. Proboscis Monkeys are huge plant eaters. They usually get food from the trees around. They eat predominantly unripe fruit, and leaves. They can get many mangrove leaves because they usually live on mangrove trees. Sometimes, they eat flower buds, bark, or insects. Proboscis Monkey prefer young leaves instead of the old one; They also prefer unripe fruit instead of ripe fruit since ripe fruit can cause them painful death. Proboscis Monkeys prefer to stay on the tree and not going down, so they might eat insects on occasion. Their diet makes them to be omnivorous animals.
