Red Fox Seasons! Spring At spring, it is red fox’s mating season.
Red foxes have to be at least one year old
to mate. Also, the redder the foxes are, the
more chance that the female will like the male fox.
Summer
When the baby is born, the mother lets the baby drink milk for the first
month of it’s life. Then, the mother will want the babies to practice
walking and pouncing. The mother will also have the babies eat meat.
The babies will play some kinds of games to exercise and have fun. The
mother will start teaching her kids how to hunt food after they are a couple months old.
Afterwards, then they will mate and it
will take at least 3 months for the female
fox to have babies. They have about from 6 to 13 babies at a time.
when they mate, the male fox will always be in charge of bringing food when the
female is about one month away from having the baby. Also until the baby
comes out, the mother can’t leave the den.
Fall
When the babies are old enough, which is fall, they will start to wander away from their mother. They will be mostly independent. Still they need help when
they are hunting food. When they are full, they will be playing games on each
other such as some chasing games. The red fox babies are getting more and more independent each day. Also, the babies are growing thick winter fur with their
mom. They are just getting ready for the winter breeze.

Red Fox Babies Fact Box:] Did you know that babies find out who will be the top one by playing with each other in a vicious way?
Looks When the babies are born, they can’t see for the first
two weeks or so. Also, they won’t be exactly red yet.
They are more like brownish and caramel color tone of fur. The babies’ eyes are blue though. But, the mother and father foxes have a unmistakable red with white
feet. The mother fox’s eyes have the color of caramel to match their eyes. The babies are normally hidden

until they are old enough to be called a young fox.
When the babies are born, they are as small as a mole. It
takes about two weeks to open it’s eyes and it starts to
gain interest in the world. The babies decide to only look because the world outside is still too dangerous and
might get lost in it. The babies will feed on the mother’s milk. The red fox’s milk is three times richer than cow milk! The red fox babies will be allowed out after a whole month of life!

Fox Babies. When  the  babies  are  born,  they  can  only  feed  on  the  mother’s  milk.  So  the  mother  could  barely  leave  the  den  for  a  whole  month.  The  mother  would  need  lots  of  support.  The  reason  is  the  mother  needs  to  feed  the  babies  every  15  minutes!  That  would  tire  the  mother  a  lot.  Their  milk  makes  them  grow  really  fast  and  helps  them  gain  lots  of  weight.  The  baby  fox  may  look  quite  chubby.
Fox  Adults Fox  adults  really  like  eating  many  types  of  small  animals  like  weasels,  mice,  young  birds,  and  others.  Female  fox  adults  teach  the  kids  how  to  hunt  by  bringing  half  dead  animals.  The  young  foxes  gain  speed  on  hunting  by  the  mother  bringing  animals  more  and  more  active.  The  mother  would  hunt  often  by  bringing  enough  food  to  fill  her  and  the  kids  tummies.  At  winter,  the  fox  families  would  hunt  fish  and  animals  that  don’t  hibernate.

Dholes
Dholes  are  related  to  the  red  fox  because  the  Dholes’  communication  sounds  are  almost  the  same  sound  as  a  red  fox’s  bark.  Otherwise  not  much  relation,  but  just  enough.  The  Dhole  is  a  bit  like  a  wolf  and  dog  but  not  exactly.  The  Dholes  are  way  less  vicious  than  wolves  are.  There  is  one  time  they  even  killed  a  young  elephant.  The  Dholes  have  massive  looking  shape  of  body,  though  they  are  small  but  looks  massive  in  other  words.  Dholes  are  mostly  related  to  dogs  rather  than  red  foxes.  Dholes  also  enjoy  going  around  in  hunting  packs  for  hunts.  The  Dholes  also  let  the  younger  ones  to  eat  first.  They  mostly  hunt  gigantic  animals  like  nigali,  water  buffalos,  and  other  animals  like  that. Red Fox Color Mutations Red  foxes  have  lots  of  different  color  mutations.  Some  of  the  red  foxes  have  really  different  colors  of  fur,  most  color  mutation  will  make  the  red  fox  have  brown  fur  and  just  darker  than  red.  But,  one  of  the  really  rare  colors  turns  the  red  fox  really  pure  white.  The  reason  why  the  mutation  happens  is  because  the  DNA  had  some  strange  problems.  The  red  fox  mutation  will  never  happen  because  of  mating.  Red  foxes  also  have  the  white  mutation  be  called  White  Morph  Fox.

Fact Box:] Did you know that there is six different mutations only? Also, five of them just makes the fox grayer or blacker!
Glossary Hibernate:  Hibernate  means  an  animal’s  winter  sleep.  Hibernation  happens  because  the  type  of  animals  couldn’t  find  food  at  winter.  Mutation:  Mutation  is  a  cause  of  change  of  the  DNA  and  the  mutated  animal  would  be  slightly  different  from  the  normal  type  of  animal.  Massive:  Other  word  of  huge,  big,  or  gigantic.  An  elephant  would  be  very  massive. Nigali:  another  word  for  a  goat-like  creature

Map Page This  is  a  map  of  North  America.  The  green  part  is  where  the  Red  foxes  dwell.  Also,  the  red  fox  is  dwelling  mostly  at  the  middle.  The  red  fox  is  dwelling  in  only  certain  places.  It  is  because  the  red  fox  couldn’t  dwell  at  the  city  at  all.  It  is  certainly  only  the  wilderness  that  the  red  fox  could  survive  at.

This  picture  is  to  show  where  exactly  the  red  fox  is  found.  The  red  fox  dwells  at  only  North  America  and  Asia.  The  red  fox  only  dwells  at  those  two  places  because  there  is  more  food  to  find  that  the  red  fox  could  eat.  The  red  fox  also  lives  at  Russia  and  Europe  too.  Red  foxes  also  lives  at  the  top  part  of  Africa.

O My name is Da Min, I am a fifth grader. I typed the book about red foxes because red foxes are starting to get endangered. Also my friend recommended the topic to me. The picture beneath is more or less looking like my dog. Except that my dog is older and cuter.
This is not my dog but just similar.
