Transition Workshop (3 days)

February 13-15 | March 13-15 • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The three day format covers a broad range of topics from financial planning to job search to a VA benefits briefing. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. This workshop is mandatory for all separating members, highly recommended for retiring military members.

DOL Employment Track (2 days)

February 21-22 | March 20-21 • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This new workshop is part of the Transition Program. It is a monthly workshop where Transitioning Service Members, Spouses, Retirees and Veterans can build a resume for a civilian or a federal job and learn interview techniques, salary negotiations and labor market information.

DOL Career and Credential Exploration Track (C2E)

March 7-8 • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Department of Labor delivers a 2 day workshop to assist transitioning service members, veterans and spouses define career goals, identify required credentials, find career and technical training opportunities and identify resources.

CalTAP

March 10 • 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

CalVets conducts this workshop to acquaint veterans and separates with CA benefits, like education, employment, and health care. Morning is briefings; afternoon is set up for 1 on 1 appointments

Provides recreational options for dependents of active duty, retired military, DoD employees, contractors, or residents living on base under a Tierra Vista lease contract. Community service programs, clubs, and classes are offered with focus on positive socialization, recreational activities, cognitive challenges, and team building skills.

School Liaisons are also an initial contact for participation in the Youth Sponsorship Program which builds resilience in youth and eases transition. School Liaison support is free of charge and open to all Department of Defense identification card holders, educators who serve military students and community partners involved with pre-K-12 education.
