Do you have questions about enrolling your child in school? The Los Angeles Air Force Base School Liaison Officer (SLO) is here to help you find the answers you need. The average military family moves 9 to 12 times throughout K-12 education. With each move, military children face many school-related challenges. The School Liaison Officer is your advocate. California schools are responsible for California State learning standards. Each school’s academic performance Index (API) and climate survey can be found at http://dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/

If you would like your name placed on the School Liaison Officer (SLO) distribution list for the upcoming events such as the toy workshop, scholarships, academic recognition, magnet and charter school deadlines, laws affecting military connected students’ programs and funding, etc. Please email your name, phone number, email address and whether your student is in elementary, middle or high school to SLO at 61fss.slo@us.af.mil

Military Interstate Compact What Is the Compact? The Compact provides for the uniform treatment of military children transferring between school districts and states. It was developed by the Council of State Governments’ National Center for Interstate Compacts, the Department of Defense, national associations, federal and state officials, departments of education, school administrators and military families. http://mic3.net/pages/FAQ/faq_indexnew.aspx
